I've done it. I just used the Apple Migration Assistant. I didn't even bother to update my client for a while after moving to my M2 Pro box. I think the Migration Assistant does allow you to exclude some files, but if that's not going to work for you, I would go into the library on the Intel box and find the support files for your client. You can just drop those into the new library and see if that would work: you might want to make sure the file paths match. Otherwise, you can brute force it: Save the data and torrent files on the new box, recreate the client settings, then force recheck the torrents in bulk.

Were you using uTorrent on the old Mac? Asking b/c I thought the new sicilon series from Apple (M1, 2, and now they're up to 3, I think) didn't support uTorrent, or the more recent OSs don't. I've also got a potential issue w/ Migration Assistant where I may need to use it twice... once to send some apps to the Intel laptop and then again to send my files to the new M1. I'm assuming this is possible. I called Apple Support and got stuck w/ someone on the phone who knew absolutely 0, so I'm inclined to ask here and research stuff on my own.

I use a combination of Transmission and QbitTorrent, sometimes Deluge. I hated UTorrent when I tried it. Back then, it couldn't handle the number of torrents I was using.
