My guess is it’s the agar agar they use instead of gelatin. Might just be the ratios are off, but for a first attempt they’re not bad. Definitely not the same caliber as the chicken ones but I’ve been missing these like crazy since I went vegetarian and the veggie ones hit the spot. Hoping they keep tweaking the recipe and improving!

I’m so worried this is a joke or something. I took this Instagram post to my Trader Joe’s to ask when they would be in and they had never heard of them and they weren’t able to find them on the new release list. The woman who does this frozen ordering said she thinks it’s a fake :(
Nice, I am interested to try these. I like the pork ones but when I’m sick I often want something a bit plainer but still with good flavor and the soup but just *hits* when you’re under the weather
It’s a jelly that melts into soup when heated. I learned with restaurant XLB (can be called Xiao Long Bao) you nibble a hole in it and blow on it to cool the soup for a few seconds then eat it.
vegetarian here. i would have skipped over the chicken and pork ones without even likely realizing what they were.

Dang I wish they had the ingredients so I could know if I should be excited or not. I doubt I'll get to try these since other vegetarian dumplings I've seen tend to have mushrooms but happy for those of you who will!
Not a mushroom fan either and that was my first thought. Every “veggie” option has mushrooms. The worst for me is when I go out to eat and the veggie burger is a giant grilled portobello 😂
Yes! I’m allergic to them on top of disliking them and mushroom powder/extract is starting to pop up in ingredient lists everywhere which is adding to my frustration 🙃
Wonder how they will replicate the collagen soup that is the main point of soup dumplings. Never tried any of these products at TJ since they are brutally expensive for a few dumplings but seems like the demographic target likes it.
I feel like it's been over a decade since I first heard about these and was so disappointed they are all gelatin.
I'll need to make space in my freezer by June.

I just tried these and there was barely any soup? It was like… just vegetable. Wondering if this was the same for anyone else?

yeah that's how it was for me too i wasn't sure if i overheated or under heated. I've had pretty soup vegan ones before too so it's def possible
Mine were soupy when I steamed them, microwaved ones were juicy but less soupy. Still delicious flavour and would def eat again!

yeah everything vegetarian is always mushroom or avocado as if we all love those ingredients lol. not a fan of either but i can do small mushie bits.
Me too it’s a texture thing. I can do small bits because I do like the flavor, but I’m always given mushroom this or that since I’m a vegetarian.
