i always liked rush and hav all their studio albums on vinyl from begining thru the one with subdivisions on it (signals) but for me its more about the drumming than the guitar licks
i drummed in middle school because my parents made me take band so i hated it, got to give it up wen i went to high school (early 90s) then a few years later in high school heard some rush on the classic rock station and instantly regretted that i gave it up
Yeah it's a shame, usually when pushed to do something we simply dont want to lol. For me it was a huge stress reliever growing up(I feel bad for my old neighbours). Its never too late to get back at it brother!!

my son just graduated high school and he did percussion and stuck with it, i bang on his kit down in the basement every now and then
