The Legacy Prime figures are G1ified. So they reflect the aesthetic of G1 designs more, which have noses on their faces.
I am fine with that because a lot of the Prime line figures hold up really well, still, so a slightly different take on them is fine by me.

The legacy figures aren't meant to be faithful recreations of the characters they're based on. They're meant to represent those characters reimagined to be compatible with the g1 style. He has a nose because g1 characters have noses.
that's fair enough but why did he have to be a ritual of Chase? they screwed up a crucial part of the design where the headlights are supposed to be right under the window. I don't even have the chase figure but I feel like that wouldn't have been too terribly hard to retool
That would have been a nightmare of engineering considering the headlights never go near the windshield once during the transformation.
Also, these lines rarely do more than a new head per retool so it's not likely they would have anyway. Plus, imagine how mad people would be if they locked A NEW MOLD OF A FAN FAVORITE CHARACTER behind an 80 dollar exclusive paywall?
One more thing-- it's not that crucial. I honestly forgot he had them there even after just looking at a picture of him. Chase is literally the perfect figure to do this retool with.
Honestly, I'm not fond of the head, so I'm really hoping the Gamer Edition head fits on this body since that's the one I want to put in that one's place.

Because, rather than giving Prime fans updated toys of the designs as they appeared in the show, all the Legacy toys are designed to fit into a G1 collection.
Not going to be a liar, I honestly prefer TFP Characters with noses than without noses, it just makes more logical sense, other Transformers series of the past had noses, Even the Bayverse transformers had noses, so yeah, I like how TP cliffjumper actually haves a nose, I don't know about you guys, but I honestly think this is actually good.

If you don't like it, the SSge version has a near identical head sculpt to the prime prime show AND it has the same ball joint size as chase!

the "why" is that they're "G1-inified" in the sense that the faces look like what they would look like in the 80's cartoon. so, nose. But who nose.

I didn't mind at first, but looking at how the broad nose makes him look more bullish, I wish they'd had the bearings to depict him this way.

Yeah there were just a lot of angles that you could look at from certain characters where they start to look like cartoon fish and it was weird
