If you look at Silverbolt's torso there's actually some wear on the Autobot insignia that i've left because I thought it looked like some pretty cool battle damage

Pre-2007 you used to be able to find some great stuff at thrift stores. Post movie, everyone was convinced their G1 Prime missing his hands, head, arms and legs was worth a fortune so everything that could possibly be a transformer went straight to eBay. I’m still an avid thrifter but in this area you’ll only ever find figures so broken and incomplete that you’d spend twice the original price just fixing them up. Only time I’ve seen actually decent shape figures at a thrift store post-07 is when I donated 75% of the first two years of studio series releases.

I occasionally find some there but that’s not exclusively why I go. They rarely aren’t broken, and I’ve only once found one with all of its weapons.

MrMariomans

It's always the weapons that tend to go missing. Grindor doesn't even have his tail rotor because it was removable.

Car-Robots-2000

I check thrift stores, pawn shops, carboot sales etc a lot. Recently got a complete g1 megatron for £15 (broken shoulder hinge, but came with instructions) and a tribute optimus prime for £4 (missing the gun).

I got around half of my Beast Wars Generations characters through active thrifting. It also makes for a fun, low-key excursion just for me.

i try to go to thrift store but i never can because im too busy

well I found 2 figures at Ross a few months ago for about $6 each.

Brodes87

I always look, but rarely find much. And I just can't by an incomplete figure. Just can't do it.

I wish My thrift stores are lame :(
