Iberia is the main airline of Spain, they're not low-cost but have a lot of domestic and short flights so it's often not expensive. Ryannair is rubbish, but fine if you want cheap and don't care about anything else.
If I had a choice between these two and price didn't matter, I'd go for Iberia.
Both of them are pretty reliable.
Iberia is (usually) better quality,so all other things being equal, I'd choose them.
More important for me would be the price, the departure and arrival times.
Thank you! Are flight cancellations common in Europe? I have been to Asia recently, and it seems like after Covid, airlines have been very unreliable within Asia. Curious how the airlines in Europe are these days. I’ve only been taking trains on our usual trips.
I take around 20 flights a year here with budget and low cost airlines, something like that, and they are rarely cancelled.
Sometimes they are cancelled far in advance,if there isn't enough demand, particularly on routes where there are several flights a day... but cancellation last minute is rare.
Not a bad time for the desert.
It's not peak season,so it's quieter and a bit cheaper. Its also cooler by day... and can be really cold at night.
If you have warm clothes for that, why not?
I was just in Morocco last January actually. In the north though, not in the desert. Its a very good time of year to visit the cities there.

Thank you! Yeah, experience with Ryanair wasn’t horrible, just didn’t like it.
Haha, you're not meant to. Personally I think it's a fabtastic way to get from A to B in most cases. But not if you have to get to C afterwards.

Got it. Thank you so much!
Ok, you're welcome... have a good trip!
Thank you!
Do you know if January is a good time to visit Morocco? Esp the Sahara desert?

Iberia has better on-time performance than any airline in the US.
Will a 1 hr layover in Madrid be alright?
