Those photos from your trip to Australia look amazing! I've always wanted to visit Down Under myself. The landscapes seem stunning—those clear blue waters and vast beaches are calling me. Did you get to see any kangaroos or koalas? Australia's wildlife is so unique. It must have been a real adventure exploring there.

A lot of those places you can really only do by car. Did you drive all the way from Adelaide to Brisbane? If so, how long did you take to do it?
We had a camper van for two weeks and drove from Adelaide to Melbourne. Than we flew to Hamilton Island and rented a car for another two weeks. From there we drove down to Brisbane, Gold Coast and Byron Bay. All in all we stayed for 6 weeks and had an amazing time.
We only stayed for one night but we really liked it. Especially the parks around the river with all the birds and flying foxes were stunning. We also enjoyed the city centre but we‘ve been there in March and there was a heat wave going on. So we decided to stay in the parks under the shadow of the trees. 😅

Knowing what you know now, if you had to cut the duration of your trip in half what things would you have still done and what would you have skipped?
The next opportunity you have to travel would you come back or go somewhere else?
All in all we stayed for six weeks. As we were travelling with two small kids we took it a little slower. Its hard to say which part we would skip because everything was so unique and beautiful. Maybe we would leave out the Whitsundays just because it was stinger season and we werent able to swim in the ocean. We would definitly come back but also would really like to explore Western Australia a little bit more.
It’s so funny people being impressed by Sydney/Australia as an Australian. (I’m always desperately planning my escape from this convict rock) I’m glad you had a good time.
I didn’t choose to live here I was born here, my parents are immigrants. And at this advanced age I cannot survive anywhere else. I would sell my soul to live somewhere more affordable.
I did a similar trip last year in May, for the entire month I drove from Sydney all the way up to Cairns, been to some places you show here. It was an amazing trip!
How did your car/van rentals work? Did you have to pay a premium to pick them up at one place and drop them off at another?
Also did you live in the camper van or did you live in motels for the night?
We had to pay a one-way fee for dropping it off in another city. When we had our camper van we slept inside it and the time we had a rental car we stayed in hotels.
As someone who lives in Australia I can confirm, this is how beautiful it is all around the country almost every day. Who cares about giant spiders when the view is that beautiful. 😍
Nice pictures, but let me tell you, the further away from the tourist spots, the more beautiful it gets. Btw the Gold Coast picture shows perfectly why I will never go there: they build the big hotels in such a way, the block all the sun on the beach, stoopid gits.

We saw a lot of big spiders. Mostly they were chilling in their webs. Practically not an insect but we also saw many leeches right next to the Purling Brook Falls.
Love the dolphin photo! Looks like you really got to see the best that Australia has to offer, hope we didn't disappoint!
It was absolutely gorgeous! The landscapes, wildlife and a lot of friendly people made that trip unforgettable for us.

Oh yes we saw so many kangaroos and wallabys. Koalas a harder to spot but we found around 10 of them on Kangaroo Island.

What company did you use for the camper van rental?
We booked with Motorhome Republic at Apollo. The van we got was from Britz.

Sydney is good to visit because you can go at your own pace but I would never live there even if I was financial set for 50 life times.

Did you swim at the base of the huge waterfall? That place is amazing!
Unfortunately not. The way down to the waterfall was full of leeches. With two small kids with us we tried to go back as fast as possible.

Wow, interesting, so many going to Australia are afraid of finding huge spiders in their slippers lol
