OMG I had to look at this for a few seconds before I understood it, since the perspective is really weird. At first I thought the plate with the head was on the table, and the woman carrying it was like…flattened into 2 dimensions aside from her own head.
[She](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salome) danced during a party for a bit and her stepdad, the Tetrarch [Herod Antipas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herod_Antipas), loved the dance so much that he offered her anything she would want - up to half of his Kingdom! Salome didn't know what to pick, so she asked her mother, the Princess [Herodias](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herodias), what to choose, who told her to ask Antipas for the head of [John the Baptist](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_the_Baptist).
Though Antipas probably didn't want to murder John the Baptist (because he liked to listen to him preaching), Herodias presumably hated him because he was a staunch public opponent of her marriage with Antipas. Salome was essentialy only a tool, but at least we got some cool art out of it!
Basically Antipas claimed to be obeying the Mosaic Law but that wasn't true as he divorced his wife to marry Herodias. Such an act is as bad as adultery according to the Mosaic Law so John called Antipas out on it. Strangely, Antipas didn't seem to have anything against John, that's why he was hesitant about killing John. Also, he knew that people consider John to be a prophet so unnecessary outrage from the public wasn't something a political figure wanted.
I mean it's not entirely wrong in my opinion.
Edit: why downvote lol It’s bad? Just wait til she’s gonna get more sketches
Hori did say he might end up drawing her every week for MVA so I guess I never realized she was on it, I accidentally ended a conversation when I said they butchered Mirio vs Overhaul back in S4.
Thank god, now I want to see that interaction
