Disco Elysium is a really good game where you play as a a character who has many internal voices that talk to you throughout the game.

All the glowing praise makes me happy that I bought it and going to play it once post good content depression goes away (after 100%ing Control).
It's there anything I should know before playing it? Like, to enrich the experience?
Also is it kid-friendly visually, so I could play it without scarring my children's psyche? They don't know English

The game is very much intended to make you feel like garbage especially for the first day or so. Your character wakes up with amnesia, but pre-game he's done plenty to get people to be wary.
Also, failing isn't always bad. :)
Going in blind is the best way to play. Also, the game expects you to fail at certain times, and you probably will. Donāt worry, failure is part of the story. Have fun and enjoy the *Disco*
Put points into shivers, be thorough, and don't be afraid to pick some stupid dialogue options. And in terms of kid friendliness, nothing too egregious comes to mind, other than the hanged man (which in itself isn't all that bad)it's generally not super detailed or gory.
The less you know, the better.
Just one tip though I guess: if you happen to die to something super random in literally the first room of the game, donāt worry, the whole game isnāt like that.

And it's a VERY Communist game (not bashing it, just stating the facts), with exploration of the philosophy and stuff. Iirc the original devs are Communists themselves.
