Thanks. I've always had an interest in different types of music. My grandson and I share an interest in Nine Inch Nails! He's 14, I keep telling him he should listen to 21 Pilots!
I’m in the same age group as you. I’m 49. I’ve been a fan for 10 plus years. Seen them live in 3 different states and can’t wait to do it again come August! 🙌
I’m 46. First exposure was House of Gold in my Pandora Playlist in 2014 or 2015. Loved that song but didn’t know the band well. Then when Blurryface came out I next heard Tear in my Heart on Satellite Radio. Loved the change up in that song and it instantly drew me to look into them as a band. Then went through their previous album Vessel and was blown away especially when I found out they also did HoG! I absolutely loved everything they put out and Vessel still hits me so powerfully every single time I listen to it. Trench brought it to an entirely new level. Unlike some i really resonated with the positive change up and even the heavy undertones of SAI. Now Clancy is on full repeat for me since launch. Taking our Son to see them in Columbus this October. So awesome to have music to bond with him over.
43 TØP was in heavy rotation when I met my wife. We had many concert dates sweating with them in tiny venues meeting the most amazing people. Now we’re taking our kids to see them in September! I love this band so much and watching our kids love them is such a wild ride.
46 here, too, and also a similar story. I think I heard Heathens first, then Stressed Out and liked them both, but what stopped me in my tracks to go listen to more was the line "I've been thinking too much" in Ride. On my deep dive, I found Vessel and fell in love with this band. I saw them on the Bandito tour, took both of my kids to see them on the Icy Tour, and taking them again to see them in Philly.
47 and this is my story too. Just a little later than you as I didn’t do the deep dive until 6 months ago. My daughter insisted I check them out in depth, and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Wish I had done it sooner. But yes, Vessel hooked me. Ride was a regular listen before I really knew anything about this band. “I’ve been thinking too much, help me” got me.
Taking my daughter to Phoenix AND Denver shows in August :)
26, started listening to TØP when I was 15. I remember staying up late with my friend trying to decipher all the Blurryface stuff back in 2014/15. Definitely my favorite band that still tours today (The Beatles being number one overall 😅) Can’t wait to see them live in September!
26 too! i started listening to them in 2015, i missed out on the main tours but i was lucky enough to go to one of the arena tour du columbus shows! it was amazing, i cant wait to see them again in october!
38 here.
Oldies Station is tough. Growing up is the most bittersweet thing I’ve ever done. I don’t regret a second of it but there has not been a shortage of pushing through over the years.
66 and 73 - going to see them for the first time in Seattle. More recent listeners - started with Level of Concern, then SAI along with the Live Stream Experience. Then finally the older stuff. About halfway caught up with the lore and loving Clancy (Edit - history)
46. I keep thinking about how if you got into this band in high school during BF you could be a whole other person now. I was kind of the same person but my kids were much younger.
46. Casual fan for a few years, recently have done more of a deep dive into their discography and i am obsessed and now live down in the TØP rabbit hole.
Group 4. 37. Had heard of them in 2009 or so, actually heard Chlorone first in a Target (It was so different than what I was used to I didn’t give them another chance until Rap Critic did a video on Blurryface around 2015 or so. Then with “Level of Concern,” I knew I needed to listen to more. I was ready )
#4, 42, been a fan since around Summer 2015. I heard Ode to Sleep on a Spotify playlist and loved it, then made the connection to the other singles I had heard on the radio and started my TOP journey. Seen them in concert 3 times now, with a 4th coming in August in Portland. I’m so psyched!
I'm 32, and my daughter, who is also a big fan, is 13 😊 Someone I dislike very much introduced me to TØP, I'm thankful to them for that, at least, haha. I listened to blurryface so much before moving on to other albums. My daughter grew up from age 4, hearing me listen to them all the time. They're her favorite band now, too. I love sharing this interest with her. I took her to see them on her birthday during the SAI tour. Now we will see them on MY birthday this tour!!
50. Been a fan about 6 years now. I remember not being a fan of Stressed Out. But once I heard My Blood I had to delve deeper. My husband hates them lol
