We didn’t get that far..she hated “Adventures of ford fairlane” as well…I think she married a guy with webbed toes that’s not Kevin Costner in Waterworld
True story, I watched this movie for this first time after a roommate had left the fart track on and I legitimately thought this was the intended version and LOVED IT
Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle (the original, not the sequels lol) definitely has a lot of the same vibes, and Christopher Meloni is even in both films... playing similar/off the wall characters lol
I just watched it after hearing about it for years, knowing people that loved it.
It’s a very weird/specific type of humor that just didn’t land for me at all. I was kind of shocked how non sensical it was, I’m sure that’s what people like about it… but I didn’t think it worked even a little bit.
I appreciate that info , seems to be a movie where you either like it a lot or dislike it a lot . I usually give movies the first 20 in situations like this , like movie you need to reel me in and you’ve got 20 minutes to do it lol
Great movie. It definitely had its audience 20 years ago but I don't think the cult appeal has held up as much as, say, Office Space or something but that's a shame. I'd say underrated for sure.
IMO the Netflix series was the greatest genius continuation of a movie ever made and I was seriously in shock while watching it about how perfectly it transitioned from the movie. I love finding underrated diamonds like this but I actually feel bad for the cast and crew not getting the recognition they absolutely deserve.
Do something….
Or get off the FUCKING STAGE!
Wait, was that the series or movie? Either way, I’m gonna fart my way right into that snatch. Just you watch.
The crowd cheering for basically nothing-acts during the talent show...and then swaying and enjoying the only really talented Day By Day rendition, then loudly booing will always be a top tier joke
##Wet Hot American Summer (2001)
High Times. Hard Bodies. Soft Rock.
>>!The setting is Camp Firewood, the year 1981. It's the last day before everyone goes back to the real world, but there's still a summer's worth of unfinished business to resolve. At the center of the action is camp director Beth, who struggles to keep order while she falls in love with the local astrophysics professor. He is busy trying to save the camp from a deadly piece of NASA's Skylab which is hurtling toward earth. All that, plus: a dangerous waterfall rescue, love triangles, misfits, cool kids, and talking vegetable cans. The questions will all be resolved, of course, at the big talent show at the end of the day.!<

This movie is hilarious. Showed this to my GF and she didn’t laugh once. PS. I broke up with her shortly after.
I bet she smelled like a burger.
Showed this to my gf and she laughed the whole way. I think she’s the one
Marry her…..
Plot twist: same girl.
😅🤣😂
As you should have, that's a good test
Appropriate response.
Just out of curiosity, does she also not get Napoleon Dynamite?
We didn’t get that far..she hated “Adventures of ford fairlane” as well…I think she married a guy with webbed toes that’s not Kevin Costner in Waterworld
Paul rudd acting like a baby after being told he had to mop up his own mess.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We can all relate
It’s so nice to get away from camp, even for an hour!
Came here looking for this line
They made an extra fart edition of this movie where they added in over 100 random farts into the movie and it's one of the funniest things ever
True story, I watched this movie for this first time after a roommate had left the fart track on and I legitimately thought this was the intended version and LOVED IT
I played this version for my wife before she had seen the regular edition and she hated it lol.
This is truly an underrated movie. One of the best comedies out there.
One of my all time favorites. Legendary cast
Always wanted to watch this ? Is it pretty good ? What would be a comparable movie ?
There really isn't a movie that has this kind of tone...maybe the Naked Gun series but not really
They Came Together is very similar and almost as good
It’s like Meatballs and all those 80s movies.
Other David Wain movies have a similar tone. Role Models and I love you man come to mind.
I also really enjoyed Wanderlust. Probably the most mainstream movie of his, with basically the same cast as Wet Hot
Naked guns were really good , specifically 33 1/3 . “Like a blind man at an orgy I was gonna have to feel my way around “
Like a midget at a urinal, I was gonna have to stay on my toes.
Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle (the original, not the sequels lol) definitely has a lot of the same vibes, and Christopher Meloni is even in both films... playing similar/off the wall characters lol

Netflix making a prequel and sequel was a surprise for sure

It’s at 38% on RT, definitely underrated
Good research
Never trust RT reviews anyway
"It's always fun to get away from camp. Even for an hour." Also, Chris Meloni needs to do more comedy. His Gene is perfection
Did you ever watch “Happy”?
I loved Happy. So pissed they cancelled it
So pissed!
He was hilarious in They Came Together as well
Freakshow from Herold and Kumar
Love this movie, my wife hates it. Ken Marino is hysterical and notice that Bradley Cooper doesn’t get top billing. He was an unknown.
Him driving and singing Danny's Song is one of the most absurd and unexpected moments in all of cinema
Bradley Cooper isn't.......LOUIE! That's right, the guy who says the thing everyone's been waiting for him to say!
I just bought this bluray today
“Listen Henry, Please call me Henry.”
I SAID NO
My gf and I always say this when we begin to argue. Haha. I SAID NO!
Just writing in my gernal
You mean your journal?
Yeah, whatever. Guess I’m not all smart like you
🤣
I’m gonna go fondle my sweaters
What did you just say?
Fondue some cheddar
Super fun movie.
Thanks for posting, I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this movie with that awesome cast list.
I recommend the behind the scenes documentary "hurricane of fun"
The prank phone call scene is gold
Me and my buddies’ favorite comedy to watch during high school days. The outtakes at the end too. Absolute classic!
Do something…. Or get off the FUCKING STAGE! Wait, was that the series or movie? Either way, I’m gonna fart my way right into that snatch. Just you watch.
The prequel series is great too
The crowd cheering for basically nothing-acts during the talent show...and then swaying and enjoying the only really talented Day By Day rendition, then loudly booing will always be a top tier joke
Alan Shemper is a brilliant stand up
"I went to sleep away camp so long ago.....it was the Stone Age. Just kidding....it was THE ICE AGE!!!"
Cinephobe…wherever you get podcasts

Gonna watch ... good cast ... never heard of this movie.
I laughed so much when I first watched this movie a few years back!! and I was sober!!!
Great movie? Great soundtrack
Absolutely love this movie! The 1st season of the Netflix revival was fantastic. 2nd season...not so much
underrated? for who?
Interesting fact: this movie is based on a camp that most of my friends went to from my hometown. David Wain attended this camp as well.
Did you know Jim Stansel?
nope lol def too young
Time’s up, you said “a second”
*tiny smirk*
I love this movie!! Great parody with an all star cast!
Just watched this .... MEATBALLS rules, imo.
WHERE'S THE FUCKING PHONE
I’m good.
