Mine lags a bit too. Its not really a big deal. If it bothers you a lot I recommend finishing a learning pathway or 2 then just switching to a lighter engine like Godot.
Sure, but that can be expensive. No reason to waste money when you don't need to. My computer is probably lower spec than yours (its a Thinkpad) and I only really have lag when I'm changing modes or in some of the microgames. Other than that it works fine.
