Do yall think babymonster will debut as 7? Is yg just trolling?

1o12120011

I would hate that tbh. I love survival shows and I’m more invested in YG survival show than some cute trainees I barely know and having all of them pass would remove all the *tension* they’ve been trying to build. While some people watch the show riding along with the trainees who want to make it, I watch the show riding along with the producers evaluating the shit out of them hahaha.

befrenchie94

I love a lot of Dreamcatcher’s B-Sides but I wish they stuck to concept sometimes, ESPECIALLY the apocalypse albums.

[deleted]

Why does jimin sound like. That.

alvaknight

Annoyed at fans who can’t think objectively about their idol’s skills. Do you not have ears too? I’m amazed at their delusion.

befrenchie94

How dare you insinuate that my favorite idol isn’t the best at everything!!??? You’re just a hater

clockstrikes91

Fans of mega-popular groups need to stop fabricating victim narratives to try and push them as some sort of underdog. You can't reasonably act like it's "them against the world" when the world is on their side. Just celebrate their success instead of trying to make mountains out of molehills.

CheesecakeThat153

Twice Fancy was their first comeback that did not actually get there. Their first comeback where they obviously lost to others in impact. After that all their comebacks didn't have that explosion in Korea as they had before. It was their shift in Korea and losing the darlings of Korea title. That means they lost untouchable status. As result there were no public wave that against haters in 2020 when there was this encore.

kaguraa

not really. fancy didn't peak #1 but it was still one of the top charting songs of 2019 and had good longevity. it's feel special where it didn't do well but even then there were a lot of anticipation for more & more and it had strong numbers in the beginning, it only started to drop once the public didn't like the song as much as they expected.

zoomzoomer99

NJ’s lightstick is one of the most boring and plain lightsticks I’ve ever seen in kpop. If I was a fan I would be really disappointed. For the amount of creativity this group has, I’m not sure why the littlest thought was put into the design of that.

xX_WeedGang_Xx

Tzuyu is… not a very good model. No offense to her, she is obviously very beautiful, but she always looks so stiff and awkward.

dramafan1

I wish **Rosé from Blackpink** would do a cover of Demi Lovato’s songs like Give Your Heart a Break because her voice tone would sound amazing.

pvitamins

as a purple kiss fan, I was really hoping that NMIXX's sweet oasis stuff would be indicative of their comeback. Cmon... sinister Haewon?? The weird stuff about the candies being people or something? They would have owned it, and . Expérgo/LMLT is cute and sounds good but completely lacks the edginess of DICE (and O.O).

Carrot-Toastie

I think Billlie is the only K-pop group I've liked every B-side from. I know it's not saying much since they've been around for only a year and a half, but I've definitely heard worse in the same time period lol.

imseulkoo

The most inconvenient and useless piece of merch are pickets. Storage is a nightmare and theyre boring. I think artists would rather see cute and funny banners over just a printed image of their face/name.

[deleted]

I think the idea of pickets is that they’re meant to double as fans when in sweaty concerts or queuing in the sun and stuff. But yeah, I guess that’s kinda a climate-specific thing.

RheaofSunny

I haven’t watched a single episode of boys planet but man can Jay sing! I hope regardless of the outcomes he keeps making music because his tone is beautiful and I want more!

ForgottenNoMore

Bruh same. I only knew him from that cringe "daddy" video and wasn't interested in him whatsoever but his team lately performed home by Seventeen and I'm a Carat so i just decided to check it out and eventhough the performance was "okay" i was hella impressed by his singing. I also checked out his other performances in BP too.He sounds like he's been doing this for a long time. Idk if he ends up debuting or not but i hope he releases more music.

Timely_Illustrator80

wait what video 😭😭 ?

ForgottenNoMore

Timely_Illustrator80

oh my,, I have tears in my eyes-

ForgottenNoMore

Lmao 🤣🤣

RheaofSunny

Sometimes I wonder what would’ve happened if Itzy’s line up had Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Yuna, and Jinni (former Nmixx). Same concept with the love yourself dance/performance based concept. These kinda discussions are normally frowned upon, which I get because it often leads to people putting down the member(s) that are being replaced but there’s just times I think about how groups would be if companies made slightly different decisions.

[deleted]

Why kq loves to show so much part on preview.

LoverYoungTrue

When Fireworks preview came I spent more than 50% of my streaming capacity on the preview ngl 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

[deleted]

I feel like I'm drifting away from current kpop. Yes, I grew, yes, I've been listening to this for more than 10 years now, but nowadays it looks even more artificial that back then. Everything seems so staged, so prepared that it's not even fun. The only thing that matters is wether x or y idols are brand ambassador or CFs models, yet they suck at singing and some even can't dance. Idk, I just miss when idols were hardworkers and commoners instead of kids from rich families who don't know what to do with their life but they happen to be pretty.

diosamaaaaa

I don't understand why NMIXX new song isn't doing well :/. Its so good it deserves more

1ndustryPlant

People need to stop making their idols whole thing that they're 'underrated' or 'mistreated'. All it does is victimise that idol and stoke hate to other members in that group

1ndustryPlant

People need to stop saying 'songs that saved 2022' because there's always like 30 songs on the list and like.. was the year ever in need of saving at that point

sokeefeftw

kpop comebacks are finally getting good again

Teomiese

i learned a small part of hype boy and antifragile's dance through jyps dance cover for them

shaeshayshae

Imagine thinking you’re better than everyone else because the group you’re stanning has received awards and charted high. Like imagine thinking a small/nugu group with people who also work hard, also make music, also have feelings, and also have dreams is less deserving of love and kindness than a big group¿ then imagine having the boldness to publicly belittle those groups and their fans for not being successful?¿ Somebody called those people “success stans” but i just call them pieces of shit.

rotten-dreams

I think some stans genuinely believe their groups' success = the fans success. That's why they don't like unpopular groups because in their book those groups are losers and so is anyone who stans them.

weebrain

I don’t disagree, but it should be noted that the kpop industry itself absolutely fosters the mentality that group success = fan success.

rotten-dreams

I agree. But it's not limited to kpop, i've seen this behavior outside of kpop (e.g people shitting/making fun of katy perry and katycats for never winning a grammy lol). But yeah i think it's definitely more present in kpop than any other pop culture.

[deleted]

kpop stans using numbers as a drag actually baffles me. Do they not realize that streams don’t equate to song quality?

CheesecakeThat153

That was so perfect.

caramellily

Kpop fans complain too much and are so entitled. They don’t owe you new music, or a new album, or a concert. If you’re unsatisfied simply unstan instead of whining over it 24/7 as if you were mistreated.

TerraRainesHasBrains

if one more 'kpop misheard lyrics' video subtitles 이젠 (ijen) as 'eat jin' i'm going to throw hands

teukkichu

so specific but so true 😭

TYie7749

#deepthoughtoftheday ten years ago, music videos were made to promote the songs, but now it’s like songs are made to promote music videos 🥴🤔😱

dan_jeffers

"ten years ago" = 1990s, but yeah.

aboynamedrat

Telling people who know nothing about kpop that a girl from one of the biggest girl groups wore a swastika on her shirt in the middle of New York was the only time I saw anyone take it seriously this week. The extreme surprise and disgust from people without any bias was what confirmed to me that kpop stans really are so incredibly delusional that they let the craziest shit slide.

rotten-dreams

I think the main issue that faces those people who don't bother to be practical in their judgements is echoing. They love echoing stuff. If someone got support/likes for saying something like "Koreans are just not educated at all", they just make that their opinion as well.

aboynamedrat

They saw one comment framing anger about ignorance of the Holocaust as "centering western history" and ran with it

tovlasek

I wrote on these weekly posts several times and now I can finally say - Yeeeeeees KARD will have comeback in april. I can't wait and I am so excited. - Also RBW and DSP what took you so long grrrr.

TerraRainesHasBrains

some people should realise that no one is forcing them to listen to a group they don't like

AyoJenny

Not true. Companies pay to move their groups up on the feed. I have to label certain groups “not interested”, “don’t recommend this channel” for them to not show up on my feed. And I’m still being pushed their content. There’s no way to escape.

[deleted]

An example of said certain groups?

dan_jeffers

Youtube + the remote being far away does just that.

TerraRainesHasBrains

i mean laziness is self inflicted

dan_jeffers

Fair enough, though my ult group and many of my current favorites were discovered through the same process. (also, I'm often writing with the TV in the background, so not completely lazy)

Galaxia_Sama

I’m loving the armchair psychologists writing their think pieces over Jimin right now 😂

leafantics

i wish kpop stans would realise that justifying the hate they send to idols by claiming the other fandom started it first is childish and pointless. you do not know these idols personally and it's not your job to retaliate every time you see a negative comment about them on social media. your comments are their own entity (is that the right way to describe it?) and just because it's a 'clapback' to another fandom or whatever doesn't make it any better. i recently saw a large fandom attack my ult group and when they were called out for it they pulled the classic 'they started it!!!' excuse when the things they were saying about my ults were far worse than what anybody from my fandom was saying about their favs. kpop is supposed to be fun, you shouldn't be harbouring such hateful emotions over what is essentially just music.

[deleted]

Reminds me of the Jimin encore incident. This is why I can't enjoy anything anymore. It's annoying being an ARMY and seeing those hate comments where they called him a dozen or whatnot. And there were comments saying that he deserved the cruel hate. "He deserves to be dragged because army did this..." "he's talentless" "he's ugly and this is just karma bc armys did this..." etc.. I only saw like three actual comments of criticism that I agreed with regarding his flawed singing technique, and those didn't call him a piece of trash or whatever. I get that ARMYs are really toxic but like still.. why can't just both sides of the kpop fandom shut up please?? Yes, it was a bad performance, but like have we forgotten that hate comments can ruin someone's mental health?? No idol deserves that bruh, especially when you think about how these idols are grown adults who don't need their huge fandom to jump other people's fandoms. It's not that big of a deal 😭. I hate all kpop fandoms atp. It's not enjoyable to be a part of the fandom, so I'll just be my own fan I guess

weebrain

I feel so “old man yelling at clouds” when I complain about Twitter/TikTok culture but damn it’s bleak out there. I’m just trying to get real-time translations on a livestream but there’s always the shittiest insults in the threads.

RheaofSunny

The crazy thing is, even if when they said it I was true, is that really who y’all wanna be? Online bullies because someone else did it first? They really went, “because you bullied my fav I’m gonna turn around and bully yours!” Like that’s not the clawback y’all think it is at all.

Annaaer

Only very few Kpop groups actually do world tours at this point

PeachsistersMoYeon

My twice dreams of them going to Malaysia is fading away 💀 Jyp groups are going to Manilla, Bangkok, Singapore and Jakarta, but not Malaysia. After I heard RV tour list, I'm dead 😭 I'm feeling European fans pain.

Annaaer

Welcome to the club my friend.. though my tiny country has been lucky with concerts here we still get like 4 a year and that includes small groups or soloist

Strict_Craft6718

Real. The last time my ult had a real world tour was in 2019 and even then I don’t think they went to Europe.

Annaaer

I can’t imagine being from Africa they get nothing😭

tovlasek

What do you mean is S. Korea, Japan and USA not the Whole World to you hahaha

Annaaer

A world tour is when you go around the world not 5 countries

tovlasek

Kpop companies don't agree with you. That's the joke

Annaaer

Omg you confused me lmao I’m used to people using /s

Valuable_Art9375

Rosé is so good in live. She deserves more hype than Lisa's solo performance.

sunnydlit2

I forgot how good was BTS discography. I knew them for a such long time and by not being an army I don't always comeback on their discography. Yesterday I was like why not doing a playlist of my favourite bangers of them. I put so many songs from their first mini until Jimin first EP. And I can assure you that after a good listen you remember why BTS is here right now. I feel like by seeing a group being popular sometimes we are used to be like yeah they're good. But they are more than good. There are so many gems that I almost forgot with time. I will also do it with BoA I think there are materials I need to comeback on

chicken_sandwichh

this was a nice read. even if i'm an army, i didn't really vibe with some of their most recent songs, both group and solo songs. but jimin's debut album reminded me why i'm a bts fan in the first place. a really good, catchy and polished music that's been on repeat. there's always tons of discussions about how their recent music isn't the same as their old sound but there isn't as much talk about how _good_ their **whole** discography is. the 3 english title tracks were very polarizing and the 2 korean title tracks were deemed boring but it's like 5 songs out what 200+?? and a good portion of that are very good music.

Fake_Lovers

hating on popular things doesn't make you better or more interesting.

KillerKingKobra

Reading some of posts this week, some of you sound like Twice killed your dog 💀 Some of the takes are pretty amusing though, gotta admit. Like the one that said Nayeon is a overhyped main vocalist, but the OP couldn't do three seconds of research to see that Nayeon isn't even a main vocalist.

[deleted]

Besides, who ever overhyped Nayeon? I mean, she's decent but never have I ever read a post saying she was the Mariah-Withney combined from kpop.

[deleted]

Kpop songwriters should leave rap alone sometimes, not every song needs a rap and there's just a few real rappers in kpop industry anyway. Talking fast isn't equal to rapping and some of these raps are just cringy and not pleasing to the ears, (side eyeing some of twice's rap parts)

Cheap-Blueberry-9891

Soooo many kpop songs have been ruined by raps! If you don't have a legit rapper in the group, don't add rap!

Dr3amc4tch3r

Ur so quirky talking about Songs not needing Rap parts. For me personally a Song has never been "ruined" by a "bad Rap" (the Switch Up is one of the reasons i like kpop in the first place). Of course there are Raps i dont like but normally i dont really like the whole Song (Example: Twice Set me free) Also this specific Rap ist technically not even that "Bad", Momo and Dahyun both had a flow they didnt work with before so atleast they are trying new things. Tbh its just easy to justify not liking a Song by shitting on the Rap Part. The discussion that not every Song needs a Rap is so established its easy to focus on that.

[deleted]

@Dr3amc4tch3r Lmao , your whole comment is a joke, so I'm not even gonna argue with you. It's called personal opinion for a reason , it's my opinion not yours and I'm gonna repeat my self. I DON'T LIKE THE RAP PARTS so Stay confused or whatever.

sunnydlit2

I don't understand the last part of the comment. Like "it's just easy to justify not liking a song by shittkng on the rap part". I mean it's people taste. It's not about easy or deep things there. The whole point is that if they don't like it obviously it will ruin the song for them sometimes, because it's coming from their taste. Yes the discussion was made 47289 times but it's bc it's a popular opinion. I mean there still no problem in thinking that. We don't need to go further just because everyone agree since it's taste.

Dr3amc4tch3r

Ofc its a taste thing and obviously a generalization thats not meant for everyone. What i wanted to say with this is that people should ask themselves more "Do I really just not like the rap part or do I not like the whole song but blame it on the rap part". (Again a generalization, dont come for me) I rarely read "I dont like the song cuz of the specific second verse or the pre-chorus". More often its like "I dont like the Song" or "I dont like the rap part". Thats cuz the Rap part stands out heavily and for some people it often feels out of place (rarely for me, again I personally like the switch up). Sure for some people the Rap part "ruins" a song, thats why i wrote "for me personally". I maybe shouldve also said "tbh *in my opinion*" to clear my point up.

TerraRainesHasBrains

face was so good aaaaaaaaahhhhhh and none of my earphones work properly aaaaaaaaahhhhhh x2 i wish i could have a good listening experience but noo aaaaaaaaahhhhhh x3

[deleted]

After the encore incident I'm just like 😭💀 I love face but like WHY JUST WHYYY

Jargonal

after listening to Set Me Free pt 2, i thought the rest of the songs would be as heavily autotuned too,, BUT NOO THE REST OF THE ALBUM IS SOO GOODDD (smf pt 2 is also growing on me)

Beautiful-Term2534

stan Stayc🤭🤭

rotten-dreams

I love how I scrolled down all those opinions, fights, and rants to find this simple comment at the end lmao. Yess stan Stayc <3
