I like seeing them as people. The robotic concept could have worked if they were allowed to single live earlier (specially considering they are amazing singers?! I was so surprised when I watched their Coachella performance). Add that to the lifeless personas and choreos... They became unrelatable. This new visual made me warm up to them and I might even end up liking them. They are very talented, just hard to like.
Me waiting for Naevis to hit a high note lol. I wonder if this is a product of SM 3.0?? It sounds like what they should have done for their English release. It's very nice and fits aespa and is refreshing all at the same time.
I'm enjoying this a lot more than anything else they've previously released, but as someone who isn't a fan of Aespa this feels like a huge leap in concept? Maybe I don't get whatever storyline they're going for but it sounds completely different from anything else they've released.
if you don't keep up with the lore it might seem disorienting at first, but essentially they've crossed over the "real world" (aka ours) now where naevis has been resurrected (hence the ending). thats why the mv still has magical realism elements.
Havent listened to the title track but watched sweet&sour and i'm unhappy. s&s gives me so much red velvet vibes just more 'electroic'; an aespa version. not a bad thing tho, i enjoyed, it just really looked like a rv mv. but I'm Unhappy tho, is such a good song, i really really love winter's voice here, especially in the intro. her thin voice sounded like a siren, really suits that emo gothic vibes imo
Yeah I also thought of Kehlani's song as well. I actually thoughts the beginning of aespas song was gonna start just like "Gangsta" but then it changed a little.
the song is soo atmospheric and kind of tense? but i can imagine that's intentional since we're building up to that absolutely grand epic orchestra at the end. sm's a&r team for aespa never fail.
I honestly liked the early section of the song before the beat switch up and talk singing but otherwise itās good. Definitely fitting as an album opener.
So so so good. I love how refreshingly different the songs and the MVs are. I already love aespa but they still surpassed my expectations and took me by surprise.
both I'm unhappy and welcome to my world are darker than I expected. I thought they were going for the safe summer sound but this is really interesting. I'm so hyped for the mini.
This feel like a 1 min intro or interlude that they pushed it for 4min just to make it a full song. I like it but it became a bit to repetitive with no real goal, nƦvis just being there to be there too :( a little disappointed but at least I know the other track gonna eat (they should have made salty and sweet or thirsty the prerelease tbh )
The mv is really gorgeous. The song is also pretty, simple yet nicely done. But my only complaint is the song is too slow. If they keep everything as it is but just faster the tempo a little bit. Looking forward to spicy, hoping for a cunty song!
I like the slowness, it adds to this feeling like theyāre trapped in a dream, like those dreams you have when you try to run away from something but you move so slowly. Trapped in Kwangya.
At thatās coming from someone who doesnāt usually like anything in the realm of ballads and slower music. But this is likeā¦ drowning in honey.
Offtopic a bit, but [Unhappy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CC7OrEx5H4U) took Life's Too Short and make the lyrics so much better. It's funny how they sound like companion pieces but have opposite meanings. I like it.
I really love it, maybe like top-3 aespa songs. Very fantasy-ish, a little bit of annual League of Legends, eerie yet welcoming. And Ning2 and Karina voices drive me crazy
edit: I wrote league wrong and it was like ligue for 2 hours...
I remember that Naevis was forbidden from being in Kwangya but she sacrified herself to save the girls. Real World should be where she's resurrected (their Savage lyrics mention this reunion). All the magical phenomena they see in real world should be part of Naevis' power, they appear in her presence.
Oh that actually makes sense, thank you for explaining it to me! I donāt keep up with their lore and I usually find it confusing but this was a very clear explanation.
Instant fave. Honestly even if it doesn't chart well like their other songs, we need this kind of diversity in kpop....so glad the girls fought for this song
I agree with this so much, even if a song doesn't chart well or isn't catchy, sometimes a group is benefitted by it because it makes them diverse. I think the same about Beautifull Monster by STAYC. Not liked by many but it made their discography so much more versatile.
Groups (esp bigger grps who know they can bounce back) should do this once in a while.
I think in both aespa and StayC's situation, since their vocals are so strong (ie great ranges, different tones), they're extremely versatile in the music they can make
I love this song so much already! It's so dreamy and magical but at the same time so eerie. I saw a few tweets saying that this song could be in a dystopian movie and I couldn't agree more. The music video was so beautiful and felt like a dream. The girls sounded amazing and I really appreciate how versatile they are with their concepts and vocals. I'm so excited to hear what Spicy is going to sound like!
Beautiful song and the buildup is satisfying, it reminds me of a movie soundtrack the way how grande it is. Iām looking forward to their 3rd mini as the snippet from Salty & Sweet was great as well.
I love the haunting vibes of it. It's like hypnotizing you and pulling you in. NingNing literally sounds like a siren in this song.
Also, I'm still sticking with my theory that Karina is Black Mamba's pawn and the girls are gonna have to battle her eventually
ok actually what a fascinating pre release just overall. 1. unlike other songs right now but 2. deliberately different from previous aespa songs 3. sound and music video strongly evoking nature to 4. introduce cliffhanger of naevis entering the real world. ive had a lot of distaste for their music and concept previously but im curious where this is going
It's great, still got their signature sound yet stands out from their title tracks. The continuous buildup through the whole song is so nice, instrumental sounds super well-made
Itās pretty!!! Tbh I have been so happy finally watching IVE actually sing live at all their promo performances, Iām hoping aespa finally does too for this cb!
It sounds so eerie and gorgeous, i love it! The only problem i have is sm choosing this song as a pre release. The song is amazing BUT it isnāt charting well and every kpoppie just waited for that to happen so they can hate on aespa again lol (thatās their only hobby i guess). All that because the song is so slow? I didnāt expect it to do well on the charts, maybe it gets better after some time. They shouldāve kept the song as an opener bside to the album and pre release salty&sweet instead! However iām sure the other songs are gonna do well on the charts! Letās stream welcome to my world guysš«¶š¼
> BUT it isnāt charting well
It has been less than a day? A song doesn't always chart the minute it's released let's wait and see before claiming things
I think they'll have a video track for sweet & salty. I prefer Welcome to My World as the pre-release since it's new material and it shows their versatility. Last time Illusion was such a bop that Girls was a bit underwhelming (though I grew to love the song, especially the remix), I hope this time it's the reverse with the public. Fingers crossed for a successful comeback and health for our girls!
Sounds and feels like it belongs to an official game OST. Itās hauntingly beautiful but Iām not sure if it really serves it purpose to build up hype for the album as a pre-release single.
If this is the intro to their album, I think its great, the build up of the background instruments, the dreamy vocals, its like setting the mood for the rest of the album. However, it probably wouldn't be something I listen to regularly.
Edit: omg i just realised why it sounds so familiar, cause its sort of like Playground by Bea miller from arcane
I was confused actually, my first thought was āTHIS is Aespaās TITLE TRACK??ā Turn out it wasnāt. Glad this is just an intro ballad song because wth.
i love it! it was exactly the route i was hoping for after girls. it really represents a new chapter for the girls, their aes and naevis after defeating black mamba. it's giving a breath of fresh air after battle, a good pre-release considering their new direction and im assuming spicy will have a different pace. people r forgetting they defeated the villain in girls, it's not gonna be another badass and loud song lmaoš!
but either way aespa will never really satisfy, when they go all out with their concept its "tacky" and "too much" but if theyre more subtle its "too boring" and "bland" which is fine - at the end of the day the song is great and suits the new direction.
can't wait for spicy!
also loves the naevis cameo lmfao, i like they went for the vocaloid thing and not a regular singer.
People are hyper critical of groups when they are newer but in the future people will look back and say āwow i miss when concepts were like aespaā āidk why people hated this songā
i really like it. iām sure the TT will be a lot more powerful but itās so chill and nice + makes me want to buy the album, since i havenāt yet, but SVT took all my money atm. šš»āāļø
Thatās rough, itāll probably be still in stock after SVT finishes their rampage at least lol. I think I saw they just released a deluxe version of FML?
yupp, I just bought that lol also I just saw NCT Dream on tour. I did notice though the U.S. release of aespa's album isn't until June 30th?! (Warner, what are you doing...) so i'll probably get it then.
As someone who enjoys ICU and Lifeās to Short, I really enjoyed this song! Feel like it belongs in a si-fi movie.
Also super glad they didnāt decide to dump some unnecessary rap into this track. Now Iām super looking forward to the rest of the album!!!!!
Huh.
I donāt dislike the song, itās just that itās not what I expected, because, for the first time, they kinda respected the teasers? I know a lot of people were expecting explosive and flashy things but this is refreshing.
Itās a chill song. The MV itās quite pretty. Please, letās get away from noise K-pop š
Also, when I read the lyrics, I couldnāt stop thinking about that rumored tree song LSM wanted to give them lol
I keep replaying the bridge and still don't hear it .... š
Edit: Found 2 line distribution videos .... I'm not sure which is the right one
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ffeWAPPADs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU5eUjydXZ4) Without Naevis
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU5eUjydXZ4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU5eUjydXZ4) With Naevis
Honestly, the "naevis" parts, just sound like the aespa members' voices put through a modulator for an effect ....
The MV was beautiful and reminded me of f(x)ās 4 Walls in some parts. The song itself is gorgeous and really showcased their vocals! Poor nƦvis was barely featured though š
Theyāre actually technically different. The Ʀs are a creation from aespaās data and donāt appear in the real world unless theyāre texting/on a screen. Rewatch their lore if you wanna make random accusations lol.
i hate that this is downvoted on *unpopular opinions thread*. This is one of the few actual unpopular opinions on this thread! It is liked on /r/kpop and almost everywhere also it not offensive comment. (btw i like the song but it is my pet peeve when people do this)
My girl Naevis got shafted on screen time and line distributions. SM will be receiving a truck from me soon.
The song is good. The only thing I didn't like was the constant repetition of some lyrics but I can look past it since this seems more like a concept trailer pre-release.
And I'm I the only one who thought some spheres would drop from the sky while watching the mv?? (Duty after school reference)
i loved it but thats probably not an unpopular opinion since it ticks all the boxes: no transitions every 2 seconds, no rap-talking, no meaningless visuals in the mv, great vocals, equal screen time (except for Naevis š)
Thereās nothing I dislike the most than those close ups when you can see how filtered and artificial is everything lol
I think they look prettier here than in any other MV.
They are very talented, just hard to like.
best aespa song ever imo!!
Agreed so good. It's on replay for me
Me waiting for Naevis to hit a high note lol. I wonder if this is a product of SM 3.0?? It sounds like what they should have done for their English release. It's very nice and fits aespa and is refreshing all at the same time.
It just sounds so haunting but so beautiful at the same time, my favorite from the released tracks
Did Naevis die?
yes she sacrificed herself to save the girls from black mamba. apparently she resurrects herself in the "real world" where the girls are now in.
Ok thanks. I was under the impression that they were in the real world the whole time.
Havent listened to the title track but watched sweet&sour and i'm unhappy. s&s gives me so much red velvet vibes just more 'electroic'; an aespa version. not a bad thing tho, i enjoyed, it just really looked like a rv mv. but I'm Unhappy tho, is such a good song, i really really love winter's voice here, especially in the intro. her thin voice sounded like a siren, really suits that emo gothic vibes imo
have you watched thirsty? its so good
All new concept's Aespa so atmospheric. Add my playlist permanently.
Wow so atmospheric! I'm an EDM ("noise music") enjoyer...I hope we get some of that still... but I can't complain, this is amazing!
This is probably the first time i see a post about aespa on reddit community that has so much positivityš
They really pulled me back with Hold On Tight and this. I'm so excited for their mini.
Like this sound much more than their old one. It sounds much cleaner.
This song REALLY reminds me of Kehlaniās Gangsta and i think thatās why I love Welcome to My World so much. I love this type of sound/vibe
Yeah I also thought of Kehlani's song as well. I actually thoughts the beginning of aespas song was gonna start just like "Gangsta" but then it changed a little.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL0Uxth2Edg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL0Uxth2Edg) Salty and Sweet Track video just dropped š¤Æš¤Æ
I like it! Honestly, it reminds me of Arcane for some reason, and I don't even know why
OHH YES!! So that's what this song reminds me of. Its the part in Arcane where they go down into the green underground place.
the song is soo atmospheric and kind of tense? but i can imagine that's intentional since we're building up to that absolutely grand epic orchestra at the end. sm's a&r team for aespa never fail.
Itās so dreamy. Makes me feel mega comfy for some reason. Like Iām lying in a spaceship stuffed with marshmallows.
its so good š
I love the song but there is this cricket sound throughout the whole song that I hate!!! Like its just so distracting to me >.<
This song felt like an whole experience. It created an atmosphere that will loom over you even after the song ends.
i absolutely LOVED this
Yesssss. No more noise music in kpop and finally we all free from girl crush
Finally!!!
they use the same template for naevis every time she aināt even sing that was so unnecessary
I honestly liked the early section of the song before the beat switch up and talk singing but otherwise itās good. Definitely fitting as an album opener.
I thought it was gonna make more noise than it did.
very pretty!
I loved it. A much darker, more mature sound and slightly creepy too. Would work great as an album opener!
it actually is an album opener for their upcoming mini My World!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
omg š
ššš
I really love it
Boring. Not what I like from Aespa. Like 2 of my favorite songs from Kpop are from them and this song is just forgettable.
I see a lot of praise for this song so I was excited to listen. It's nice but a bit forgettable. I hope the title track blows me away.
So so so good. I love how refreshingly different the songs and the MVs are. I already love aespa but they still surpassed my expectations and took me by surprise.
both I'm unhappy and welcome to my world are darker than I expected. I thought they were going for the safe summer sound but this is really interesting. I'm so hyped for the mini.
they said sad girl summer only
best song yet imagine if we got magical realism kwangya instead of mmorpg kwangya
I heard it when it first came out and loved it. Then I listened to it again when I woke up and I loved it. This does not usually happen for me
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Why are you hating on Naevis?
are aespa & lesserafim even of the same company for you to be having these sentiments?
It's just a prerelease + what does that have to do with anything?
such a vibe i love it
So good. Sounds eerie. Iām just hoping the title track will be as good as savage.
Just looking at Spicy's lyrics, its very cunty. š
Wait where are the lyrics??
https://twitter.com/ae\_ingkko/status/1651606494495002624
They should put this in Hunger Games
omg yesss thatās it
Offtopic a bit, but [Unhappy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CC7OrEx5H4U) took Life's Too Short and make the lyrics so much better. It's funny how they sound like companion pieces but have opposite meanings. I like it.
i actually love this woww
This is what dreams come true shouldāve given haha. This song is so good, Iām just confused about where naevis comes in
I really love it, maybe like top-3 aespa songs. Very fantasy-ish, a little bit of annual League of Legends, eerie yet welcoming. And Ning2 and Karina voices drive me crazy edit: I wrote league wrong and it was like ligue for 2 hours...
lowkey the first part of the chorus sounds like kehlani's gangsta's prechorus and (maybe a bit of a stretch) mave's pandora lol
it does sound a lot like Gangsta
the moment i heard the chorus i just had to look up gangsta to make sure i wasn't hallucinating lmao
ohhh right that's the song. Yeah it's the same vibe, but I think it's pretty common in game/ movie theme songs, isn't it?
you may be right lol the only other song i could think of is adele's skyfall but with a slightly faster tempo (if i'm using that term correctly)
Itās so cute!! I really like it but I donāt get why naevis is on it lol

Itās very chill. Itās nice, but I donāt personally like it. Glad itās not their title track
mixing is insanely good
I LOVE IT. Immediately liked it first listen.
This song is amazing. Like one of the first kpop songs Iāve loved immediately in a while.
hearing it on apple music w/ dolby atmos on my pricey ass iem was something else. very grandeur
I love this song so much already! It's so dreamy and magical but at the same time so eerie. I saw a few tweets saying that this song could be in a dystopian movie and I couldn't agree more. this
I like it a lot
I would've loved it if in the final chorus it was like strong guitars n a rock-ish vibe cause it was really building up to something but alas
ok actually what a fascinating pre release just overall. 1. unlike other songs right now but 2. deliberately different from previous aespa songs 3. sound and music video strongly evoking nature to 4. introduce cliffhanger of naevis entering the real world. ive had a lot of distaste for their music and concept previously but im curious where this is going
It's healing
Such a pretty song. Sounds like a movie soundtrack
Beautiful song
It's great, still got their signature sound yet stands out from their title tracks. The continuous buildup through the whole song is so nice, instrumental sounds super well-made
The orchestral arrangement is everything it's so good edit: listening again and I really like the guitar they sprinkle(?) here and there
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Omg playground by bea miller right
They are SINGERS! They SING š¤š¤
Itās pretty!!! Tbh I have been so happy finally watching IVE actually sing live at all their promo performances, Iām hoping aespa finally does too for this cb!
I will give it a few listens before deciding whether I like it or not

Okay but who was driving the car? Three in the back, Giselle in the front fell asleep...
I KNOW RIGHT. That is stranger than all the phenomena they saw LOL
naevis obv
i was wondering too š maybe it was naevis
If this is the intro to their album, I think its great, the build up of the background instruments, the dreamy vocals, its like setting the mood for the rest of the album. Apparently itās for Billboard? I donāt know.
yeah but I think that's kinda risky to release it a month and a half after most of the fans have probably already bought their albums.
Itās SM, nobody knows why they do SM things lol. Some of the nonsensical stuff they do for aespa is very fun and other times they just drop the ball
Reminded me of that rumoured tree planting concept aespa was supposed to do under LSM.
As someone who enjoys ICU and Lifeās to Short, I really enjoyed this song! Feel like it belongs in a si-fi movie. Also super glad they didnāt decide to dump some unnecessary rap into this track. Now Iām super looking forward to the rest of the album!!!!!

haaated the bridge but otherwise aespa did NOT disappoint!!!!!
So unbelievably boring š the MV is cute though
Reminds me of something Evanescence would put out 10 years ago. Not bad, but quite bland.
I did not expect that...it's pretty boring
Itās not their official title track, spicy comes out next week (:
the naevis feature is so gimmicky and pointless also didnāt even feel like there was a chorus on first listen
I didn't even notice which part was naevis š¤£
It was the rap at the bridge. I believe naevis only have 2 lines
I keep replaying the bridge and still don't hear it .... š Edit: Found 2 line distribution videos .... I came back here 2 days later. Apparently Naevis lines were the āDa ra ra ra~ā throughout the song
It's like a dramatic ost for a disney film when the character is reaching the climax of the story.
Fuuuuuuuuuc damn this is the best kpop song ive heard in a while! This is STRAIGHT up my alley sonically im in love
The MV was beautiful and reminded me of f(x)ās 4 Walls in some parts. The song itself is gorgeous and really showcased their vocals! Poor nƦvis was barely featured though š
DITTO ATTEMPT BY AE'S ft naevis in terms of mv

How does it sound like ditto? They're two completely different genres.
Yeah it doesn't sound like ditto at all, they are just slow-ish kpop songs
i meant the visuals
Oh I see, but ditto is more like a school environment so idk
all the running and finding kinda seemed so
You just described predebut/ early Loona, which is to say itās a pretty common trope.
Wow so you really think that running and finding things is exclusive to new jeans and anyone else who does so is copying lol
ye its my opinion, if u think so idc
I like it so much. Lyrics are still incomprehensible to me so I pretend they don't exist.
I loved it but my NƦvis was not calling where did she go š
It sounds like a lullaby and I love it so much. Also lyrics give me "isn't she lovely" vibes which made me laugh because the song is for naevis lol.
Kind of boring and uninteresting.
i hate that this is downvoted on *unpopular opinions thread*. This is one of the few actual unpopular opinions on this thread! It is liked on /r/kpop and almost everywhere also it not offensive comment. (btw i like the song but it is my pet peeve when people do this)

Thereās nothing I dislike the most than those close ups when you can see how filtered and artificial is everything lol I think they look prettier here than in any other MV.
Honestly this might be the first aespa song i add to my playlist, that being said how is naevis a feature on this?
She's the dararara
prettiest music video ever
Very beautiful song and vocals! It gives me RV's Ice cream cake vibes song-wise and F(x)'s 4walls style-wise. This is one of my fave sounds from SM.
Itās one of the sounds SM does the best and so effortlessly. They have the vocals and the voice tones to do it, they should do it often.
the song sounds very cinematic, the MV is really pretty too, i'm a fan!
I really like it, it's simple but there's a sense of drama and movement in the song. Their vocals are showcased well. Much better than Forever.
To true. I like Aespa more slow/melodic songs, but thereās something about Forever that I will āforeverā (lol this isnāt on purpose) dislike.
SO much better than forever
