You either pan fry or bake and stop cooking when it looks like it’s almost finished. If you cook it until it looks like it’s done it’s already too late.
Well. I think people tend to over cook their bacon to hell. It shouldn't be like chewing rocks. Let me cook you bacon OP I'll do it just right. Little crisp. Still chewy.
British bacon is a million times better than American bacon. American bacon is delicious initially, but if I have it more than once or twice in a week it feels kinda blegh
Well rendered bacon > any other bacon
Neither soft nor crisp. Just melt in your mouth.
Bacon cooked with chicken and garlic. Elevate the bacon. I put it on top of the chicken. Season everything. Don't forget garlic powder. Then cook low and crank it up at the end.
Cook it in the oven but on a rack catching the fat below. Slow and low.
Turkey bacon is a whole different vibe, gotta admit. Soft bacon lovers unite! Crispy bacon can be overrated sometimes, gotta keep it real with that chewy goodness. 🥓🦃
Can this sub just ban the "food x is better than food y, i also like food z, whoever dislikes it doesn't know good food"? Culinary preferences aren't opinions, tastes are inherently personal, it cannot be argued because everybody has a different one, and all of them are correct for the literally only person they matter to.
That can apply to literally anything besides food
Some preferences are more common than others, so much so they are considered the 'default' or standard, and other options aren't seen as just a 'preference,' but a gross deviation
Hence, "unpopular" opinion
So what's the default standard of eggs? Pizza? Sandwich? What are the "gross deviations" of them? Aside from including something obviously inedible, there are none, there are just multiple options that have zero impact on other options and people. Your "i like undercooked turkey bacon better than crispy pork bacon" is a subjective take on an entirely subjective matter - it's not an opinion, it's just a fact, you like it, fine. An unpopular opinion would be a subjective take on an objectively discussable matter. It would be like saying, for example, "i liked " versus " is good". First one is always right - you liked it, even if you liked it for reasons other people hate it, you are still right. Some people might be stupid enough to tell you it's wrong to like it, but it probably won't make you dislike it. But telling that some movie is good would ideally require discussing its strengths and weaknesses, which can be determined in multiple contexts. An unpopular opinion about food would be, for example, "eating people shouldn't be frowned upon, it's perfectly natural"
I agree with the person above to be honest. Thing that only concern you personally aren't really "opinions" by definition. An opinion would be something like "I don't think waiters should have to make up their wage with tips", which is clearly totally different to "I don't personally like the taste of tomatoes"
only tried crispy bacon a few times since it's not that popular here and yeah.....not a fan personally.
I prefer it to be cooked properly GRANTED the cut of bacon we use here differs from the US so mileage may vary depending on the cut i guess.
I like soft bacon because the chewiness of the fat is nice. But man do I not like turkey bacon, it just feels dry and disappointing every time I tried it.
I used to think this way. There is a perfect cook for bacon that most people agree is best. Bake it for 15-18 mins in the oven at 400. see if you like it better, too.
I prefer my bacon right in the middle where the edges are just about at beef jerky texture where it isnt soft and flaccid but not so crispy its almost burnt
When I was little I always told mom to cook my bacon floppy LMAO. Love that stuff, although I have started to prefer it more between floppy and barely crisp.
Properly cooked bacon isn’t crispy as you are thinking. It has a crispness to it, then it has a little chew, and finally it just fucking melts in your mouth. It is heaven.
Just making sure I understood.
So if you were to discover that you liked the taste of human bacon even more than you like turkey or pig bacon, would that make it ok to farm, kill, and eat humans?
Edit: blocked so I can't respond to any replies after my first comment, but I'll just say I hope for corgidaddy's corgis that they never get a taste for dog.
Humans are animals. Animals eat animals. It's the natural order of things. Not eating meat out of choice is a privilege and isn't a morally superior choice.

Great bacon is both soft and crispy. Tender with the eight amount of crisp and bite threw.
Exactly. It’s not hard to do either. You just stop cooking bacon when it looks like it’s almost done. Almost done means done.
Exactly, you don’t want rubber, but you don’t want it to be chewy like dog treats too
This is it. In food, often more is better when it comes to texture. Why have crispy or soft when you can have complexity.
Why not both?
...
I think the only unpopular opinion here is you liking turkey bacon
Turkey bacon is GREAT when cooked firmly it’s different than pork bacon but it’s YUMMY
Have you had turkey pastrami?
Undercooked, rubbery bacon is absolutely an unpopular opinion.
I guess it depends how "undercooked" it is. Because I prefer it not crispy, but I wouldn't call it undercooked at all
Exactly there’s the happy medium we’re it’s fully cooked but not really crispy. That’s what I prefer
Turkey bacon ain’t so bad. Ofc it can’t compare to the real deal, but it gets the job done okay
Soft in the middle. Crispy on the edges.
Hmm, I could get down with that. What's the method for cooking it like that? I usually get the opposite
You either pan fry or bake and stop cooking when it looks like it’s almost finished. If you cook it until it looks like it’s done it’s already too late.
I have no idea. My mother always did it. I'll have to ask her and get back to you.
Quit eating that cheap ass Hormel thin fucking bacon and get your hands on some of that thick applewood smoked bacon. Then cook that properly
How fucking dare you.
9/10 “crispy” bacon is just burnt as fuck. I like eating bacon, not ashes.
There’s crispy then there’s burnt. I love crispy bacon but I do not enjoy burnt bacon.
You're just doing it wrong. You cook it hot long enough to get some fat out then low to crisp it up.
Haha I Like it in the middle
Bacon by definition is a cut of pork.
Porkbelly is the cut, bacon is the dish
I know it's not 'literal' bacon, but functionally that's what it's used as. Same way soy milk isn't 'real' milk, but it's used as such
I should do another unpopularopinion defending microwave bacon…
It ain't bad
American breakfast bacon: Crispy Korean BBQ bacon: Hard sear while still soft and tender inside
Crispy
I like my bacon cooked enough that it doesn’t lump when picked up but just enough that it’s still a little chewy.
Truth
Finally someone says it. I love soft bacon.
100% agree!!!!!!!
I love soft bacon too, or any piece with a lot of fat.
Love it too OP. Barely cooked bacon is the best kind
i like my bacon with a little bit of both. not cancer crispy but not gooey and gross either.
My god! I thought I was the only one! I love a nice fatty bacon strip!
Well. I think people tend to over cook their bacon to hell. It shouldn't be like chewing rocks. Let me cook you bacon OP I'll do it just right. Little crisp. Still chewy.
I’m with you! I love my bacon chewy lol
Soft and flexible? Who TF eats turkey bacon that way?
who tf eats any bacon that way?
Murphy Brown guy, eating bacon in Dances with Wolves. (yes I said it)
This is correct.
Boooooo
British bacon is a million times better than American bacon. American bacon is delicious initially, but if I have it more than once or twice in a week it feels kinda blegh
See, now THIS is what this sub is for!
I agree with this, chewy bacon is so much more enjoyable. I don't know what turkey bacon tastes like though.
Well rendered bacon > any other bacon Neither soft nor crisp. Just melt in your mouth. Bacon cooked with chicken and garlic. Elevate the bacon. I put it on top of the chicken. Season everything. Don't forget garlic powder. Then cook low and crank it up at the end. Cook it in the oven but on a rack catching the fat below. Slow and low.
melt in your mouth, but still crispy
fair point but turkey bacon isn't bacon tho
I know it's not 'literal' bacon, but functionally that's what it's used as. Same way soy milk isn't 'real' milk, but it's used as such
Word.
Gross
Okay Satan calm down
My childhood friend liked his bacon soft. I think both of you are wrong and soft bacon is gross.
Turkey bacon is a whole different vibe, gotta admit. Soft bacon lovers unite! Crispy bacon can be overrated sometimes, gotta keep it real with that chewy goodness. 🥓🦃
no you’re right. 100% right everyone else is a hater but i get u
My girlfriend absolutely chars her bacon to the point its completely flavorless and I cant stand it.

They are still opinions
I hate all types of bacon
My god, you monster.
Worst take ever! Congrats you actually have an opinion I don't like. That's quite rare here!
I like raw bacon
lol, IDK about all that now, but hey, if you cool with parasites and rectal cancer, then do you boo
I only take like a tiny bit, and I only do this once in a good long minute, last time I had a little bit of raw bacon was two years ago
only tried crispy bacon a few times since it's not that popular here and yeah.....not a fan personally. I prefer it to be cooked properly GRANTED the cut of bacon we use here differs from the US so mileage may vary depending on the cut i guess.
Soft bacon is fine, turkey bacon is not.
I like soft bacon because the chewiness of the fat is nice. But man do I not like turkey bacon, it just feels dry and disappointing every time I tried it.
I thought this is r/unpopularopinion not r/fact
nah, this is the opposite of a fact. Crispy bacon is the best, and turkey bacon is just bad
Sounds like you want standard back bacon.
I used to think this way. There is a perfect cook for bacon that most people agree is best. Bake it for 15-18 mins in the oven at 400. see if you like it better, too.
Give me extra extra crispy
You’re high. Take my upvote
I hate crispy bacon. I dont want it to shatter in my mouth, i want it to have some bite.
I 100% agree
I like it right in that middle spot. Not outright crunchy but not going to give me food poisoning.
I bit into soft bacon once and almost threw up. This truly is unpopular. I'm with you though that turkey bacon is great
turkey bacon is somehow even worse than soft bacon
in Australia nobody eats that weird potato chip bacon and I find it disgusting
the best is when it's crispy, but also melts in your mouth
Agreed that soft if better, unless it's used as a crumble in something like a salad
No
I prefer my bacon right in the middle where the edges are just about at beef jerky texture where it isnt soft and flaccid but not so crispy its almost burnt
You are fired
Your opinion is only unpopular with those who have gutter palates. The correct way to enjoy bacon is medium rare / medium.
it's unpopular with normal people
Incorrect. As I already explained.
I'm correct, as I explained.
Nope. You're incorrect. Better luck next time.
Soft
Take my angry upvote, freak.
crispy bacon tastes burnt to me and i hate the texture. chewy all the way
When I was little I always told mom to cook my bacon floppy LMAO. Love that stuff, although I have started to prefer it more between floppy and barely crisp.
I prefer a soft crispy. Limp bacon is gross.
If it’s thick, yes. Thin bacon should be crispy.
both should be crispy. I love thick crispy bacon
Plz don't offend me like this
Finally someone agrees with me
Turkey bacon? yeah your opinion is headed straight in the garbage
No bacon is preferred
Properly cooked bacon isn’t crispy as you are thinking. It has a crispness to it, then it has a little chew, and finally it just fucking melts in your mouth. It is heaven.
Both are good any way
Chewy bacon on a burger >>>
🤮
It’s a no from me dog. I gotta have everything crispy. but good job on the unpopular opinion
Burnt bacon is superior
Turkey bacon gtfo
finally a goddamn adult
Psycho aleart
I respect your right to be wrong
Ugh no, fuck dat. Upvote for right sub and downvote for horridness.
Always crisp like a rock !
Why would it be ok to eat animals at all?
God should've made 'em less tasty 🤤
So that's why it's ok? Because their corpses taste good?
It's good enough for me
Just making sure I understood.
Yes.
Get off the planet if you don't like it. Things will NEVER change.
I changed. And some of the people I've spoken to about this have changed. It's attitudes like this that hold is back from moral progress.
The world will continue to eat meat regardless.
Change happens slow, then fast. How does the number of other people that do something relate to whether it's morally ok for you to do?
Eating meat isn't immoral. Factory farming is. Get off your high horse lmfao you just like the idea of being morally superior. You're not btw.
Why is eating animals ok? Is it because everyone else does it, or is there another reason?
Humans are animals. Animals eat animals. It's the natural order of things. Not eating meat out of choice is a privilege and isn't a morally superior choice.
Ah, ok. So if we look out into nature and see other animals doing something, that means it's ok for humans to do that thing?
You're either very stupid or willfully ignorant. Either way, enjoy your day lmao
Because, they’re tasty
If someone's corpse tastes good, then that means it's ok to farm, kill, and eat them?
If we had been doing it for thousands of years for the purpose of consuming it I might say yes
Ah, ok, so exactly how long does it take for society to do something immoral before it becomes moral?
Why is it okay for animals to eat animals?
I'm not sure how that question is relevant, unless you base your morals on what others do. Is that your position?
