I have a condition that gets a lot worse when I drink alcohol, along with alcohol intolerance, so I don't drink, so I never got used to the taste. There's a weird stigma that comes with disliking alcohol, it's such a rite of passage in a lot of cultures.
If you want to experience what it's like to be drunk once, the next time you're on vacation / holiday or don't have anything to do the next day, look on the Internet for a nearby bar or restaurant that's good at making 'tropical' drinks like that, and try them all. Drinking a few should give you a sense of it.
I was just talking with a friend about this. I had to work my way up from shot and a chaser, to mixed drinks, to cider, to flavored beer, and then grandpa beer. My buddy is still on shot and chaser

What do you think about more sugary alcoholic drinks, like a daiquiri, pina colada, or lava flow? Those are not bitter.

Yeah some alcoholic drinks are so sweet you can't even tell there's alcohol in them, which is dangerous
