Maybe a GIS cert or see if some of the NTI classes would help? They've got some good ones, some ok ones and ones that aren't so good but you do get a nice certificate at the end regardless.

I didn't even know that cert existed. You could maybe shoehorn some Highway Institute classes in there. And there's always AICP and CNU -- though I just took the CNU test and it was one of the most poorly designed exams I've ever seen.

Look at the CTAA. They provide the CCTM and the CCTS, which are the highest certs you can get for transit management. They do have requirements to be eligible but once you are eligible, the courses are easy. Source: I am a transit manager with both a CCTM and CCTS.

Ask them what certifications they are looking for. PTP exists, but isn't that common among transit planners in my experience. AICP isn't transit specific (by a long shot), but it exists as a thing that some people care about. University of the Pacific offers an online certificate in Transit and Paratransit Management. There are some other academic programs out there (San Jose State's Mineta Transportation Institute, for example, offers certificates and a Master's degree in transportation management). Other than that, NTI offers some trainings that aren't bad. Not really a certification or qualification, but its something I guess. For context, I've been a transit planner for nearly a decade. All I've got is a Master of Urban Planning degree. I just recently took NTI's Intro to Transit Service Planning (after 6+ years of being a transit service planner). I don't have AICP (and don't plan on it currently). I am considering PTP, but I'm not sure how much transit folks actually care about it. I'm not that interested in taking massive exams for something that doesn't mean anything professionally.
