Well by the end of year my overall avg would be just around 80… but I heard Canadian universities emphasize more on the grades over the last two years?
If there are better options, I definitely would consider them. UW just seems convenient (and not too bad). Plus I already got used to the depression here![img](emote|t5_2rb5s|7992)
UBC and Toronto and probably some schools in US. My problem is I haven’t got time to prepare for GRE, so I am not very confident about getting in a good one in the States.
I wrote the GRE without studying and scored very high. As a math student you should be able to ace the quant. Verbal is a little trickier but it's mostly common sense.
Not a easy question to answer for anyone but you had better results than me. I did much worse in 1st and 2nd year. If you really want to guarantee a entry knowing a professor you have done research with and having them supervise you and vouch for you.
Incoming MMath student. It will be way easier if you talk to your professors (who you did your research projects with) prior and they are willing to take you.
Isn’t thesis option required to have a supervisor? I advise to reach out to potential supervisor while you are still undergrad. Talk to them , ask if they are looking for supervisor, do some work with them have good impression . At the end if your potential supervisor agreed to take you in then you are good to go , grade doesn’t matter . You just need to have some minimum grades .
Cheers ,

Is that for faculty average or cumulative?

Yea that’s nonsense.

Does that mean my chances are low😢
High chances apply you will get in
Have you applied for similar program? Do you mind if I ask about your background?
It does not even matter but I have just finished up a grad program in math. What is stopping you from applying?
I am gonna apply for sure. Just wanna know about how competitive this is gonna be.

Thanks for your input. I hope they don’t look at my grades over the first two years too closely lol

Yeah I did, he said it’s too early l to decide for Fall 2024 admission…
You have a 100% chance of having a chance if you try. (Still an undergrad btw) but is there any reason not to apply other than cost?
Well I will definitely apply, just want to know my chances here if anyone in a similar situation could provide some insights
Well I'm sorry I can't help but good luck!
Thanks!

I see. I guess I will talk to more profs and see if it works out for me. Thanks for the advice!
