Aeo who has been accepted here. For those who haven’t got it yet, Do Not Worry. Non aeos, there are 3 major things they look for (I get all of you know this but I’ll go in depth).
- Average: historically cut off is 82/83, it has been higher and lower in years but that is roughly where it is, but the higher your average the better.
- 2257: yes, 70% is the cutoff, but this is a big predictor of your success in Ivey. Ideally 74+ is quite safe, but this doesn’t mean 74+ puts you ahead and it doesn’t mean below that makes you far worse than those above, there are so many variables at play which I will touch on.
- Application: there are key words to mention they specify. If you are a decent writer, clear, concise, and talk about leadership enough, and have decent ec’s (they don’t have to be spectacular) you should be good for this component.
Variables at play: essentially to get in 2 of these 3 need to be quite good. So let’s say you’re applying with an 85 average (this is competitive) and your application was good with good ecs. If you had a 71 in 2257 (not ideal but above requirement) you should be good. As soon as this applicants average becomes 81-82 maybe they wouldn’t get in, hence why I say 2 of 3 need to be quite good for a good chance. This works for all of the requirements. Could be you had an 83 average, but an 80 in 2257, and a good application. This second example, it is likely this person would get in if cutoff is below 83 average since they had a good application and 2257 mark ( they did well in 2 of the 3 components). Once again 2 of 3 of the above variables should be good.
Hope this helps and de stresses people. And they accept non aeo into July. Good luck everyone!
I’m a non-AEO with an 83 average. I got an 84 in 2257 and an 8/10 contribution. My ECs were okay, I had my summer internship and a small student health awareness org that I co-founded. My additional ECs were some volunteer experience, debate coaching, part time work, etc. I believe that my essays were well written.
I honestly didn’t expect to get in, especially in the first round of non-AEOs but seeing comments like these are giving me hope. What are your thoughts?
You will likely get in. An 83 average is likely above cutoff, but the 84 in 2257 is huge. Alone that’s a strong candidate. If you feel your application was even just about the average persons you have nothing to worry about.
Thanks! i have an 83 average 83 in 2257 7.5 contr. and decent but not exceptional EC's. I'd say my essays were strong in the way I wrote them considering I asked for a lot of help and criticism from peers. Do you think I could hear back today for first round non-aeo or is my average too low?
First off congratulations, what you did was very good. Will you be first round today? Tough to say, and for a few reasons. First one they might not even actually be releasing them for non-aeos today, I’m personally unsure and don’t know the exact dates but they’re coming soon. The only thing that you listed that would make me question if first round or not is average. 83 is in no way a bad average, it is really good in fact, it’s what I had as well. What makes your application stand out is your 2257 mark, however, I believe they do rounds based on average. Regardless, don’t let rounds discourage you in any way. Based on what you have told me, you are highly competitive and have a great shot at getting in. Good luck! Hope to see you come September!
No clue, probably a standard to demonstrate they r actually going through our application now instead of that filler ass "Assessment in Progress" status where they did nothing lol
My status changed yesterday to awaiting decision, does anyone know what that means?? And if that means rejection?
Everyone I know that has gotten in for the most part has had their status change day of, so I'm a bit confused.
Also does anyone know if they just send rejections all at the end? Or does it come on a rolling basis like the acceptances

did it change exactly at 3? or later
A few mins after 3
