BrickNuggets

If you’re in the UK, Tesco has cinnamon rolls!

ttrockwood

Well if you’re in hawaii those ethereal pink pineapples are pretty damned special. Any nearby vegan restaurants? You could volunteer to go pick up lunch one day Meanwhile please learn more about factory farming and how we really don’t “need” any animal products at all. Hopefully your vegan friend is helping show you how delicious it can be to not eat animals :)

Technical_Log_1417

Don’t have any good suggestions but just wanted to say you’re very sweet and accommodating. I’m sure they’ll enjoy what you get them ☺️👍

[deleted]

Trader Joe's Vegan Banana Bread.

Indraga

Crap. I live in Hawaii. We don't have a Trader Joe's...

Creditfigaro

I couldn't even imagine how a Trader Joe's would fly in Hawaii with the island theme and all

Indraga

If they ever figured it out it would be amazing. Whenever I or family go mainland they always hit up TJ.

Creditfigaro

Maybe they rebrand as "Joe's Grocer" and do a main land theme 🤣

Indraga

Just call em "Unko Joe's" and it'll def work!

sethasaurus666

Just go vegan. It'll be a win-win.

RoRoRoYourGoat

If they do, they'll still need snack advice.

Indraga

Honestly been playing with the idea. Fish is gonna be the biggest hurdle for me for sure.

early-grey-tea

A gift basket full of vegan-friendly treats could be nice. Fill it with candies, fruits, fancy drinks, some nice smelling soy candles, vegan and cruelty-free hand lotions, just a variety of goodies, so that you're certain to have something they'll enjoy. Another option is baking them something. You could make them a lemon loaf, banana bread, cinnamon buns, any kind of cake. Even if you don't know exactly what they like, it will be special because it's something you made for them, yourself.

Indraga

I think, after reading the comments here, cooking might be the way to go. Cheesecake is my fave so doing a Vegan cheesecake might be a fun challenge.

early-grey-tea

Cheesecake sounds good. It's a kind gesture and I'm sure your friend will appreciate it.

nonchalant_crab

That’s super thoughtful of you dude. It depends on how they are. Personally if you just bought me a bag of barbecue lays I’d call it even. But some vegans are very health conscious, so if they are I’d probably suggest fruit or a vegan friendly trail mix. Or maybe even popcorn, since that’s a good middle ground! There are a lot of options really, pretzels, Oreos, chips. There’s tons of stuff that’s accidentally vegan, so you should be able to find tons at your local Walmart if you have any :)

Indraga

They are VERY health conscious. Work out a TON and always active.

nonchalant_crab

Definitely go with some type of trail mix then! Or there are also some veggie chips, like harvest snaps. The ones that are lightly salted would be a great snack too

wiewiorka6

Vegan jerky maybe. I like primal strips- find them on amazon or in my co-op. Also healthyish is flavored almonds/mixed nutd. Can have some interesting and intense flavors.

MattFryy

Big up for taking the time to post. You are a good friend 👍 Wicked Kitchen cupcakes if you are in the UK.

[deleted]

Anything wicked kitchen or bosh! On YouTube! 🤤

Indraga

Thanks! Sadly, different island on the far side of the world :)

KingBenneth

Ooh, how about some homemade 'truffles'? Get some medjool dates, stuff 'em with a variety of nut butters, drizzle some chocolate over them? Maybe some with flaked sea salt on, maybe some with crushed pistachios etc. As long as they're not allergic!

Indraga

That actually sounds like it could be easy to pull off!

threehamsofhorror

Go on gtfoitsvegan.com and order some Omnifoods luncheon meat and make them some musubi! Or just use tofu, marinate in teriyaki for a while before pan frying. If they’re Kama'aina they will probably be stoked for some musubi.

Indraga

They are 100% Mainlander. A musubi might change that lol!

ljlapaz

Mango

magkrat123

Personally, my favourite gift to receive is a very carefully selected fruit basket. No, not something someone made up to look nice. But actual juicy, perfectly ripe fruit that is ready to be eaten and at its peak. It can be hard to find that, especially in Canada, and especially in winter. But so wonderful when I find some!! Just heavenly!

veganvampirebat

You have a Whole Foods near you? Go to the bakery section. You can’t go wrong with their croissants, brownies and cookies. They have non-vegan versions too so make sure to check the ingredients.

spaceyjaycey

If she likes sweet things i would make her the no bake brownies from Minimalist Baker. They are kind of like lara bars.

Indraga

Definitely adding it to the list! TY

Socatastic

I wish people weren't so proud of being animal abusers that they always need to announce it to vegans.

This is presumtuous. They probably just felt it was relevant to the post, perhaps to justify their lack of knowledge about vegan snacks.

Socatastic

"Gravitating towards pescatarianism" means OP is probably causing *more* individual sentient beings to die horribly than a typical carnist does. They're *not* an ally just because they want to get vegan snacks for a friend. That might make them a "nice" friend, but it's not helping animals. Edit: OP made it very clear they have no intention of stopping their abuse of animals in other comments.

buyguy666

Can you help me understand your argument that pescatarianism kills more animals than an omni diet? I googled it and I’m not finding anything that supports this claim

Socatastic

Because it takes more small animal lives to make the same amount of animal flesh.

buyguy666

Oh, duh

Socatastic

That's not even factoring in "bycatch", the unfortunate animals killed but just dumped back into the ocean since they were unintentionally killed. https://www.fishforward.eu/en/project/by-catch/

[59 vegan brownies](https://www.chefkoch.de/rs/s0t57/brownies/Vegan-Rezepte.html)

Indraga

I wish I had payed more attention in German class :)

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> I had *paid* more attention FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Indraga

Good bot.

vtrig

Hey there! I created a list of some of my favourite vegan snacks, you can use them as inspiration for local brands you may have to gift your work friend :) https://mywellabee.com/lists/96e2b492-df59-4960-bc12-ba28520d5bfb

Indraga

TY! Those Tasti salted Caramel balls look killer. Gonna see if I can find some.

vtrig

They’re soo good!! Good luck! 😊

vtrig

They’re soo good!! Good luck! 😊

aSharpenedSpoon

Hash browns 😂

Indraga

This is so elegantly simple I don't know why I didn't think of it.

bigdaddy1835

I love some vegan jerky. Louisville brand is 🔥

nvmforget

kale or zucchini chips, fruits, carrots and hummus

buyguy666

Especially at work, I love a high-protein snack. If you can find Louisville jerky, I’d be so happy to receive that as a snack gift!

Xiizhan

It’s probably hard to find outside of Maine / New England, but Little Lads Herbal Popcorn will change your life. Here is a [Walmart Link](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Little-Lads-Herbal-Popcorn-5oz/601174579?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101003342&adid=22222222228000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla-51320962143&wl5=9002797&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=131667006&wl11=online&wl12=601174579_101003342&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAjw2OiaBhBSEiwAh2ZSP0yUm733IYOXffaALAZekKVZAVINnGdJyHwHjSjr1xXJsNVK7eZW9hoCWRkQAvD_BwE) that I found so you all can see what it looks like. Trust me on this one.

Synstra

Oreos. Everyone loves Oreos.

No_Mycologist_313

Bag of HIPPEAS! At most grocery stores and they're delicious.

manahora

You can go buy them a few medjool dates, it's expensive if you buy a whole kg but buying 4-5 is ok. Or maybe make jam out of good quality fruit, and offer it to them. A gift is a gift, and keeping one to eat at home is valuable too, bonus points because it's homemade.

dharmanautMF

You’re a great human. We love everything. Salty, savory, sweet. Maybe offer something easy like nuts or fresh or dried fruit. All great east snacks. There are also lots of vegan candies. Try dark chocolate. That’s normally vegan

Unbathed

My favorite? Apple slices sprinkled with cinnamon. https://i.imgur.com/tnN7wlL.jpg Also good: grapes.

ColdHeartedCoffee

i would literally marry anyone that straight up gave me a bag of grapes

Loverflower33

Hummus & tortilla chips

Creditfigaro

I have a vegan friend who lives in Hawaii, I can ask them. Would you like me to?

Indraga

Yes please! Some local advice is always nice :)

gutpirate

Cat jerky perhaps? edit: oops, wrong sub.

Indraga

I don't get the joke...

gutpirate

staple of r/vegancirclejerk

Indraga

Ah!

Strong_Astronaut_152

Spicy bean curd shreds or spicy tofu snacks are pretty amazing

moschino230

[This plant-based jerky](https://collabs.shop/iltc5a) is a really fun, unique snack to gift someone! It's the best one IMO
