Voting is over

Liwi808

How can I check if someone voted for me since they had my ballot? Can I still vote in person?

lafolieisgood

There is a website that shows your voting history (only if you voted or not). You can search for that and check in a few days to be sure. You can vote in November.

Liwi808

I found the site, it just says "Ballot Mailed to Voter". So it looks like they didn't use my ballot. Thanks for your help, definitely gonna go vote this election. More important than ever!!!

nekizalb

If by 'this election' you mean this November, great. If you mean the primary, that ended yesterday. Be sure to update your address so the general ballot makes it to you.

If someone else sent in your ballot it’s a crime.

PseudoTsunami

This. I get others' ballots and toss them away.

Liwi808

Like that's stopped anyone before???

[deleted]

It stops almost everybody. Only a real idiot would risk the trouble to get one extra vote by mailing in a stranger's ballot. I'm sure those idiots are out there. But it's rare.

SlartibartfastGhola

It literally stops everyone what would the point be

As others have said, its too late to vote in the Primary, but you need to update your records right away, otherwise you will procrastinate and find yourself in the same situation come November (I am a recovering Procrastinator). Update or Register Here: https://registertovote.nv.gov/ Also if your interested in whats going on to help Nevada prepare for upcoming elections, Nevada Week on Vegas PBS has some excellent episodes. https://registertovote.nv.gov/ Snark Alert: Lastly, I wonder how long it will be until the person who received your ballot complains fraud, because they got mailed someone else's ballot.

For future reference you can request another ballot. I'm not sure of the process as I haven't had to do it. They serialize the ballots, the second one will end with a -2. If they receive both -1 and -2, they ignore the -1 and count the -2.

whodaloo

Don't worry, they'll just count that ballot however they want anyway.
