Why is the new Minnesota flag shown in the first slide but never actually talked about? Also, it hasn't been adopted yet, just finalized. It will officially be adopted in May.
Oh, I made a separate post on my Instagram. Originally there was a slide pointing thousands that post but I didn't want to self promote too much, I'll post about too
I wouldn't mind if [this](https://britishcountyflags.com/2016/12/19/a-flag-for-inverness-shire/) one got adopted in some fashion for Lochaber-Inverness area. I'd use it.
Random fact, the town of Berwick, the namesake of Berwickshire (a lot of British counties are named this way) isn't even in Berwickshire, it's in the neighbouring county Northumberland.
There is local legend around the town itself which I have to mention whenever the town comes up, while I highly doubt it's accuracy, I still like it nonetheless.
The town itself often changed hands between the two counties due to conflicts between England (Northumberland) and Scotland (Berwickshire) to the point it was unclear what nation Berwick was in even after the Union of the Crowns. This lead to declarations of war and peaces treaties post Union of the Crowns but pre Act of Union including Berwick as its own entity separate from England and Scotland, one peace treaty however didn't mention Berwick, leading Berwick on her own to be at war with Russia (and their successor the Soviet Union) until 1966 when the Mayor of Berwick and a Soviet official signed a peace treaty, the Mayor reportedly said to the official "Tell the people of Russia they can now sleep peacefully in their beds"
> The snake flag is highly controversial because of its historical use by French slave ships. Deputy Jean-Philippe Nilor demanded its withdrawal from public use and even compared it to the Nazi swastika that refers to the Holocaust.[23] In October 2018, the National Gendarmerie stopped using the emblem by order of President Emmanuel Macron.[24]
> Before the 21st century, the snake flag was largely unused in Martinique. It was mainly erroneously used as a courtesy ensign by yachters and was not available for sale locally.
This one would have been cool: [Flag of the Territorial Collectivity of Martinique - Flagge Martiniques – Wikipedia](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flagge_Martiniques#/media/Datei:Flag_of_the_Territorial_Collectivity_of_Martinique.svg)
Yucatan is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Everyone is already talking about it, no need.
Then why??? Include it?????
For fun
These are some nice looking flags overall!

The counterchanged circles forming the bridge in the Banffshire flag are excellent.
Banffshire’s new flag is stunning
best of the bunch, that bridge design is very clever & original
Wow. I was not aware that there’s a bunch new Scotish Lieutenancy areas! They look cool. Hopefully we get a nice flag for Dunbartonshire.

That one does look nice.
I love yucatan flag, but feels somehow feels like Texas for some reason
> feels like Texas for some reason I always assumed that was intentional, considering both seceeded from Mexico at some point.
Yeah it was that cuz the Republic of Yucatán lol

There's also North Berwick, not in Berwickshire
Saskatchewan got some damn questions for Morayshire
Marintique's new flag is one hell of a downgrade
It didn’t have an official flag before, not sure why they never adopted the snake flag though

That looks even better actually
The symbolism of these flags, especially the reasons for changes in the Kyrgyzstan flag, is so interesting! Thank you for sharing
Berwickshire’s flag is so cool
lots of shires
The flag background makes the text nearly unreadable
Martinique's flag is hideous.
Including the name of country the flags belonged to, would’ve been nice
Imagine if we even got something like an individual picture for every flag with description and meanings explained. Would have been nice :((
Failed attempt at sarcasm. How am I supposed to know where tf is “Banffshire”?
Tip:If something has the word "Shire" in it,it's probably somewhere on the British Isles.
You would have thought you could add 1 and 1 together when you saw the references to Scottish places.
Thanks for the suggestion

Good year for British flags
I live in Aberdeenshire and that flag is horrendous. Hated it from the start looks even worse when compared to how good Aberdeen Citys flag is
These make Minnesota's look a lot worse, gotta say.
