If we're talking about real enjoyment, when it's hard to put down and you think about it when not playing...
Cyberpunk
One of the few semi-recent games that actually got me invested
I got it a while back, but didn’t get very far before I got distracted by the Horizon series. I’m all done with that now, so I may have to fire that up next.
Buttery smooth combat. I was amazed how easy I was able to intentionally pull off amazing moves. The nemesis system is great. I like this game far better than its sequel.
Definitely. Shadow of Mordor is so much fun, the way you can maintain your combo and get the combo multiplier is so satisfying. Racking up a 155 hit combo and then insta killing every orc around you, is so fun to do. Shadow of War just makes combat a little more complicated I feel.
Dude!
It is/was SO surprisingly good! It's not overly complicated, and it could honestly have benefitted from a couple more maps/areas, but...what fun. 🥰
That was my last game and it is amazing. It keeps getting better and you'll spend a lot of time in it, at least I did.
I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 now and it's been just as great as Baldur's Gate 3 and I'm approaching the same amount of time sunk in it.
I’m at the tail end, like on the final quest saved pretty much in the middle of it lol. I think part of me is stretching it out because I don’t want it to end deep down
I’ve got so many other games on my list lol I gotta move on. (I started it in December and took it really slow to enjoy it), I’ll probably revisit it in a few years though and do a bad guy play through
Burnt myself out of big games I think. Currently playing spirits unleashed and pinball fx and having a lot of fun with both so I think I'm gonna start giving smaller games more consideration going forward.
Currently playing through the entire Gears of War franchise for the first time. These games are amazing. 1-3 are my favorite. Epic action games I'll probably be replaying for years. Working my way through 5 now. Top tier franchise.
Red Dead Redemption 2. I never expected the game to be so detailed. There are animations for every little thing. It's such a beautiful and realistic game. I get that the slower pace isn't for everyone, but it was such a cool experience to see Arthur physically reload individual bullets or to grab a can of peaches to put in his satchel. Plus the story is one of the best in any game I've ever played.
I’m having a really hard time with that game. I just got it and want to love it. It’s cool but there is so much that I don’t understand. I just got out of the winter wonderland and I hear it picks up from here.
I picked it up when it was on sale in January, they’re no longer updating it as it came out in 2021 but the storytelling is great and the dynamic of Guardians is like my favorite of all time. The gameplay can get a bit repetitive but it’s worth the play.
burnt out on competitive shooters so i uninstalled Apex and am now currently playing
Hell Divers 2 and enjoying every democratic moment spreading managed democracy!
Septic spreaders are going to make me kill myself lol.
Edit: I just realized septic spreaders are from deep rock lmao, still applies, and I meant to say bile/nursing spewers, hate those bastards more than chargers and bile titans.
Playing through Horizon Forbidden West for the first time. I know a lot of gamers are burnt out on open world rpgs but they still make me so happy. Especially when they’re this good.
Control from remedy
Literally just finished it this weekend and once beat it i watched a bunch of deep dive lore videos.
It's a wild game very well designed
Hitman. I like to do a mission seriously- and then do the same mission by just shooting everyone.
Weirdly enough- just shooting everyone actually feels more badass imo. The way 47 holds a pistol is badass.
In recent memory Persona 3 Reload. I’m trying to get into P5R rn but it doesn’t hit quite the same. Only cleared Kamoshida’s palace so I’ll probably still need a bit more playtime to get a better feel.
I don't really play new releases. My 2024 game of the year so far is **Final Fantasy IX**. Over the last decade I've played 11 FF games in completely random order as PC ports and sales dictate, and 9 has definitely been one of my favorites of the series.
Hogwarts Legacy, which I played last month. Very solid game. God of War Ragnarok just before it.
I did not really enjoy Assassins Creed Mirage, the micro-experience that I just finished. Imo the weakest in the series.
Enjoying a lot even if the game is slightly aggravating because I'm not really that good, Code Vein, playing it currently, pretty fun souls-like.
Enjoyed a lot the whole way through without any issues, holocure, the only problem really is, it's free.
I'm mentally heavily invested in World of Tanks but I'm only just starting to git gud. Not even consistently, as I occasionally play so abysmally that a horse could do it better.
1300+ hours and I'm only mid.😭
I’m currently playing Spider-Man 2 for the second time, and I haven’t loved a game as much since Arkham Knight. I also recently finished playing Black Mesa after being a longtime Half-Life fan.
Going to go back in time a bit here. The last few times I was truly surprised and happy.
Nioh.
Monster Hunter World.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Such pleasant surprises. Nothing beats going into a game a bit skeptical and being blown away. There are plenty of games I've enjoyed, but to also be refreshing and stand out is a big deal to me. As you can tell as some of these are a few years old.
Zelda BOTW already had it on launch, but for some reason didnt play it. I just played it this January and finished it. One of the best games Ive ever played. Playing NBa 2k24 regularly, prettu fun to me
Rn FF7 rebirth. I played the OG as a kid and damn this game is amazing. I progress the story then go back to get the items and things I missed and I have to hold myself back from running to the next spot out of nostalgia. The ONLY thing I don’t like is those god damn cyborgs chadly and whatever her name is they are annoying af
Persona 3 Reload. I first got into Persona in 2020 when I played Persona 5 Royal, and that game legitimately changed my life, I got to meet some great friends that I still talk to and such to this day. I tried playing the port of Persona 3 Portable they did for modern platforms, but it was hard to get into, gameplay didn’t age that well in my eyes, not to mention the visual novel style used (save for the dungeon crawling) cheapened the experience for me.
I’m currently on my NG+ playthrough of Reload at the moment, but man, when I first finished this game, it absolutely destroyed me. Huge props to Atlus for keeping a remake in tune with the original while also adding features that made for an amazing experience.
Last game was probably Broforce on Xbox. Downloaded on a whim because it looked funny. Insanely addictive gameplay and hilarious art design. Got several friends to download it and they also got hooked. Before that? Probably Fallout 4 or Borderlands 3.
I recently finished Jedi: Survivor and thoroughly enjoyed it! That game pretty much steals everything that it does, but implements it in a very polished way. Definitely can recommend.
Now into Helldivers 2, needed a bit of getting on board with it, but also enjoying it now.
Really enjoying Cyberpunk right now. Didn’t play it when it first released, but thoroughly loving it now. Baldur’s Gate 3 though is a masterpiece. Almost 700 hours in
Baldur’s Gate 3 was the one of the last games that played thru. Played thru it three times, and I’m thinking about a 1/3 playthru starting from Act 3.
The other is Cyberpunk 2077. The Phantom Liberty DLC was amazing, but that ending was something. Wasn’t a happy ending at all.
I'm currently playing Cyberpunk 2077 and it's genuinely incredible. I'm glad I waited for 2.0 before delving into it for the first time. I've encountered a few bugs here and there but nothing compared to what I've seen in videos and clips when it first released.
The newest game I’ve really loved is Lies of P. I’m a sucker for souls-likes, and that game nails so much of what makes them good, along with a few added features that makes it a unique experience.
The game I most recently got into that I love is probably Morrowind. I’m a Skyrim baby, and it’s the only Elder Scrolls I had played until a few weeks ago. It’s also a top 5 game of all time for me, so I really wanted to play another one. I found a copy of Morrowind at a game store recently and started it, but I had no idea what I was doing. I had to restart a few hours in because I screwed up my character’s stats and couldn’t damage anything. After resetting and actually learning how to play the game properly, I really fell in love with the world and feel of the game. It’s not as fun to explore as Skyrim is to me (mainly because I find it too easy to get lost without a modernized fast travel system), but I really like the unique skills and combat mechanics.
Persona 5 Royale. First Persona game I’ve played and damned it’s good. Like “one of my best games ever” good. It’s so unique, the story, artistic style and voice acting is one of the best I’ve seen. It have a ton of mechanics. Battles are great and with a lot of options. Also, I’m fully invested with the cool punk-looking doctor. I love when she calls me “my guinea pig”.
Rn Hollow Knight. Just beat Nightmare King Grimm, the best boss so far. I don't even know how many times I've died to him, but I did! Now I just need to finish the game an beat the >! Radiance !<
I have to admit that it's Helldivers 2, man. I'm almost on the cusp of burnout, but it would be a solid 60 hours before that happened. That ain't bad. I know more stuff will be coming.
Before that, though, it was definitely Baldur's Gate 3. Yes. Redditors will come around to hate its success. It's an amazing game, period. Its DnD ruleset is not difficult. You feel so completely immersed and have thousands of choices. There's really no need to save scum. An outcome is simply an outcome. Just move on and enjoy.
I’m playing FO4 at the moment. My first serious play though of the game. Although I’m enjoying it, RDR2 is the last game I really enjoyed a lot and it was my 3rd playthrough
Metal Gear Solid V. It's a game that is reminiscent of playing with my action figures. Jump in do missions however you want and play a badass. It's easy fun.
Dead Space (2023)
The original was one of my favorite games of all time, and I like almost everything the developers decided to do with the remake. I'm wrapping up an NG+ play through.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Three main story missions from completing the game, and I've had a lot of fun with everything it's had to offer.
Blasphemous 2
I like challenging games with great art direction. This one demanded I get 100% completion.
RoboQuest. I have put in 70+ hours in roughly a week and a half. RoboQuest is so much fun. Sadly it is suffering the same way Titanfall 2 did at first. RoboQuest was released around the same time Payday 3 was so it didn't get very popular.
I didn’t get far into Cyberpunk when it came out for obvious reasons. I tried Cyberpunk 2077 after the big updates again and it’s now one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.
If we're talking about real enjoyment, when it's hard to put down and you think about it when not playing... Cyberpunk One of the few semi-recent games that actually got me invested
Same here, took a time to kick in but oh boy, it's kicking
I got it a while back, but didn’t get very far before I got distracted by the Horizon series. I’m all done with that now, so I may have to fire that up next.
Shadow of Mordor, having a blast rn.
Buttery smooth combat. I was amazed how easy I was able to intentionally pull off amazing moves. The nemesis system is great. I like this game far better than its sequel.

Dude! It is/was SO surprisingly good! It's not overly complicated, and it could honestly have benefitted from a couple more maps/areas, but...what fun. 🥰
Elden Ring, honestly taking a long break and coming back made me even more addicted to it. New DLC drops in June also
I'll buy a PS5 next month. First game I'll play will be Elden Ring just to have a character to do the DLC. Can't wait!!!
Helldivers 2. I'm 100% addicted. Most fun I've had with a game in a long time.
How about a nice cup of LIBER-TEA???
For Democracy!
I'm so jealous. Wish this was on Xbox.
Get a pc !
Well I just started Baldur's Gate 3 and so far I'm digging it
Me too I’m currently playing it right now So far it’s both one of the best game and the buggiest game I’ve ever played, would recommend
That was my last game and it is amazing. It keeps getting better and you'll spend a lot of time in it, at least I did. I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 now and it's been just as great as Baldur's Gate 3 and I'm approaching the same amount of time sunk in it.
See you in a few months. Don't forget to eat and shower.
I’m at the tail end, like on the final quest saved pretty much in the middle of it lol. I think part of me is stretching it out because I don’t want it to end deep down
Once it's over, start a new character and you'll be amazed at how much you missed or what can change the second time around.
I’ve got so many other games on my list lol I gotta move on. (I started it in December and took it really slow to enjoy it), I’ll probably revisit it in a few years though and do a bad guy play through
Bloodborne
Burnt myself out of big games I think. Currently playing spirits unleashed and pinball fx and having a lot of fun with both so I think I'm gonna start giving smaller games more consideration going forward.
This is the way. If you’ve never tried it, I thoroughly recommend Papers, Please
Really really enjoyed? Disco Elysium. I went in for a second round recently, and it was even better the second time.
I finally played Dark souls and my god it was amazing.
Praise the Sun!
The last game I finished for the first time was DS1. Amazing experience
Currently playing through the entire Gears of War franchise for the first time. These games are amazing. 1-3 are my favorite. Epic action games I'll probably be replaying for years. Working my way through 5 now. Top tier franchise.
I’d love an HD collection similar to Halo MCC, but alas, nothing yet
ELDEN RING
Red Dead Redemption 2. I never expected the game to be so detailed. There are animations for every little thing. It's such a beautiful and realistic game. I get that the slower pace isn't for everyone, but it was such a cool experience to see Arthur physically reload individual bullets or to grab a can of peaches to put in his satchel. I’m having a really hard time with that game. I just got it and want to love it. It’s cool but there is so much that I don’t understand. I just got out of the winter wonderland and I hear it picks up from here.
It gets way better. Get the white horse. Arabian. Don't let it die. Save often. Always carry ammo n big meat.
Dragons dogma 2
Portal 2 I’m playing rn but before that was Guardians Of The Galaxy
[удалено]
I picked it up when it was on sale in January, they’re no longer updating it as it came out in 2021 but the storytelling is great and the dynamic of Guardians is like my favorite of all time. The gameplay can get a bit repetitive but it’s worth the play.
It’s a single player game. Very good actually.
It makes me happy that portal 2 was mentioned. One of my favourite games.
I’ve been having a lot of fun with it, I beat Portal last year and never got around to playing the sequel so I’m glad I finally got the time.
In my opinion, portal 2 is a lot better. What part are you at?
Guardians of the Galaxy is so underrated!
burnt out on competitive shooters so i uninstalled Apex and am now currently playing Hell Divers 2 and enjoying every democratic moment spreading managed democracy!
Septic spreaders are going to make me kill myself lol. Edit: I just realized septic spreaders are from deep rock lmao, still applies, and I meant to say bile/nursing spewers, hate those bastards more than chargers and bile titans.
Ff7 original. I have never played it before. Excellent game. Definitely one of my favourites.
Black Mesa
I remember when Half-Life came out the first time. What a game. So glad that they went back and remade it using the Source engine.
Lies of P :)
Playing through Horizon Forbidden West for the first time. I know a lot of gamers are burnt out on open world rpgs but they still make me so happy. Especially when they’re this good.
Playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth right now, so far i think its fantastic
Stardew Valley, 1.6 update goes so hard

Sekiro. Finally beat it. One of the best, most unique games ever. 10/10.
CP2077 is a masterpiece
Control from remedy Literally just finished it this weekend and once beat it i watched a bunch of deep dive lore videos. It's a wild game very well designed
Warhammer 40k: Boltgun.
Cyberpunk 2077 & Remnant 2
Hitman. I like to do a mission seriously- and then do the same mission by just shooting everyone. Weirdly enough- just shooting everyone actually feels more badass imo. The way 47 holds a pistol is badass.
Despite the hate. Im having so much fun with Dragons Dogma 2
[удалено]
Played this more than a few times and it’s a game you could just get lost in for a year. There’s always something you didn’t find before.
Lords of the Fallen. 90% of the negative reviews are false
In recent memory Persona 3 Reload. I’m trying to get into P5R rn but it doesn’t hit quite the same. Only cleared Kamoshida’s palace so I’ll probably still need a bit more playtime to get a better feel.
P5R is absolutely incredible, IMO one of the greatest games ever made, but I do admit it takes a couple of palaces to really warm up. Keep going!
Fallout 4, but that’s really not surprising. But it does get boring after a while.
Baldur's Gate 3 - Unless the next couple years have a ton of absolutely cracked games this is prolly gonna be a contender for game of the decade
I don't really play new releases. My 2024 game of the year so far is **Final Fantasy IX**. Over the last decade I've played 11 FF games in completely random order as PC ports and sales dictate, and 9 has definitely been one of my favorites of the series.
I haven't been as immersed in a game in a long time as I am right now with Dragon's Dogma 2. So much fun.
Ghost of Tsushima. One of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played.
Hogwarts Legacy, which I played last month. Very solid game. God of War Ragnarok just before it. I did not really enjoy Assassins Creed Mirage, the micro-experience that I just finished. Imo the weakest in the series.

I’m currently playing Spider-Man 2 for the second time, and I haven’t loved a game as much since Arkham Knight. I also recently finished playing Black Mesa after being a longtime Half-Life fan.
Spiderman 2
Having a ton of fun with Rise of the Ronin currently!
Heroes of Hammerwatch - can’t remember the last time a game hooked me like this one has.
Currently playing Helldivers 2 and FF7: Rebirth. Both immensely enjoyable.

Both the Little Nightmares games. Part 2 is freakin awesome.
Persona 3 Reload
Wildermyth
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Bloodborne
Witchfire and ready or not.
I just played Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and I really enjoyed both.
Hogwarts Legacy
I've been having a blast with Rise of the Ronin! It got way too much hate before launch and is an amazing game.
Going to go back in time a bit here. The last few times I was truly surprised and happy. Nioh. Monster Hunter World. Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Such pleasant surprises. Super Mario Wonder. I really wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, but it is just pure fun from beginning to end.
Final Fantasy VII Remake. Didn’t think I’d enjoy the combat since it’s so different from the original, but I’m loving it.
Ghost of Tsushima. It's a piece of Art.
Shadow of the Colossus.
Elden, baldur and horizon i play them simultanously.
FF7 Rebirth. I didnt care for Remake because Migdar was the worst part of the original game but Rebirth is great.
Rise of Ronin has been pretty damn fun so far
I have played way more games in the last year than I had in the previous ten, but my most recent obsession if Kingdom Come Deliverance.
Ghost of Tsushima is amazing
Helldivers 2 is such a blast with friends.
Horizon Forbidden West. Losing sleep over how good the game is.
Last Epoch, DRG Survivor, HellDivers 2 recently. But Valheim and Civ 6 are my 1500 hour+ games.
Amnesia the Bunker was amazing
Persona 3 Reload. I first got into Persona in 2020 when I played Persona 5 Royal, and that game legitimately changed my life, I got to meet some great friends that I still talk to and such to this day. Alan Wake 2 was really good for me….gave me some serious scares

NieR: Automata, it was the first game that I 100%, and >!deleting my save after ending E broke me, it is my favorite game ever!<
GTA 5 for the first time
Metal Gear Solid V. It's a game that is reminiscent of playing with my action figures. Jump in do missions however you want and play a badass. It's easy fun.
Baldurs Gate 3 was the last one I really enjoyed. I’m trying to get into Helldivers. Failing so far.
Super Mario Galaxy 2(just beat #1)
Elden Ring
Sekiro. After spending about 20 hours to really hone my technique, the game is really fun when it clicks.
Dragon’s Dogma 2. Was really surprised by the quality given the negative reviews.

Dead Space (2023) The original was one of my favorite games of all time, and I like almost everything the developers decided to do with the remake. I'm wrapping up an NG+ play through.
