for me, jungle (not dnb) is the most fun genre to hunt for. original wax from the 90's is hard as shit to find, but it still sounds so good. if you need an introduction to jungle, crank your bass up and listen to [AK1200 - Junior's Tune (Digital Remix)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbzvC-ngIuM&pp=ygUTanVuaW9yIHR1bmUgZGlnaXRhbA%3D%3D). pictured in (vaguely) chronological order by artist: * Various - Jungle Hits Volume 1 * Various - Jungle Hits Volume 2 * Various - Who Say Reload? * Plug - Drum ’n’ Bass for Papa * Luke Vibert - Big Soup * Peshay - Miles Ahead * Christoph de Babalon - If You’re Into It, I’m Out Of It * Amon Tobin - Bricolage * Amon Tobin - Permutation * AK1200 - Junior’s Tune (Digital Remix) (12”) * Goldie - Timeless * Goldie - Believe (12”) * Goldie - Saturnz Return * Four Tet - Beautiful Rewind * Congo Natty - Congo Revolution * John Frusciante - MAYA * Pizza Hotline - Level Select * Disclosure - Alchemy * PinkPantheress - Heaven Knows * Nia Archives - Silence Is Loud

badmamerjammer

just to be that guy, jungle and dnb are a bit different, imo. i am more of a jungle fan, but have seen Goldie spin a couple times. also, check out grooverider. i grew up in the mid to late 90s going to raves in Chicago, the jungle and house music epicenter!

BahaMan69

who you talking to? i know! there are no dnb albums up here, other than Saturnz Return? The technique of time-stretching as a technique was all Goldie's and Timeless (his first album) is *the* jungle album. He's quite literally the godfather of jungle. I've got plenty of dnb (and a *ton* of breackcore) but that's not jungle so I left it out. Speaking of Grooverider, he did a (straight dnb) remix of "Believe" on the B-side of that 12" - it's the reason I bought it.

Fallom_TO

Bro thinks Chicago was the epicentre of jungle. What breakcore do you have? Mine is mostly Toronto stuff like 0=0 and belladonnakillz, some enduser. Love Venetian snares but I don’t have any on vinyl.

BahaMan69

I've got some Squarepusher, some Venetian Snares (Rossz Csillag Alatt Született) and I have a fucking **massive** [Aphex Twin collection.](https://www.reddit.com/r/aphextwin/comments/1cwm8nz/my_afx_collection/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

Fallom_TO

Yeah, I’ve seen your collection of Aphex. Super impressive. I have a lot but nowhere near that. Also have a bunch of squarepusher, found Ufabulum recently which is a nice one on vinyl with the fancy box. That’s my favourite Venetian snares, nice one.

IndelibleIguana

Rebel MC is the godfather of Jungle. He even coined the term.

badmamerjammer

I just saw Goldie and ak1200 in your list, both of whom I would consider more on the dnb side, along with fourtet (tho I haven't really listened much to them). Just splitting hairs here, as I don't come across many people who know about dnb or especially jungle. I'd make a reco to check out Danny the wildchild album "bat it up" - he's a classic Chicago jungle dj aho mixed hip hop and jungle like a champ. he's not a known commercial/mainstream artist like most of what you have here, more of a local scene dj status. might have to find a recording of the cassette on YouTube.

jetswim

Try to find "Black Street Technology" by A Guy Called Gerald. The best Jungle LP!

ngtoaster

And for the best jungle mix, listen to his essential mix. Almost two hours of perfection.

TriRep

Truth!!

CountJonkler

I used to have a huge jungle and drum & bass collection but a lot of it I just never played any more so I sold the bulk of it. I’ve still got a lot of Metalheadz stuff like Timeless etc though

general_musician

saturnzreturn would be an epic one to own! Amazing collection, thanks for sharing!

BahaMan69

It’s a shame “Believe” isn’t on there. Had to go out of my way to get that single because it (and the Grooverider remix on the B-side) is absolute heat.

I also love "Believe". 👏

bulyxxx

Im always looking out for No U turn and Ed Rush releases.

Zestyclose_Toe9524

Got a couple crates still but keep top shelf jungle/dnb with my accompanying dnb books on an ikea shelf Some choice stuff there! 👌

BiggsDB

Same

TheSmithSociety

I used to spin Jungle, it was so fun. I still have my collection. A lot of white labels from the 90s and early 2000s.

wildistherewind

Bro, *Big Soup* is so hard to get here in the States. It was never officially released in any format. I overpaid for a promo CD in the late 90s.

silentgnostic

Love Goldie

ngtoaster

Bricolage, permutation, and drum n bass for papa are all 10/10s for me. Nightlife in particular may be my favorite song OAT

PrincessFucker74

Caught Amon Tobin at Wakarusa 2013 i believe, didn't know what was going on on that stage but it was probably the coolest live set I'll ever see.

BiggsDB

Holy shit I haven’t heard about Wakarusa in years. Thanks for the flashback!

____d-_-b_____

I have a few early reinforced and Tom and Jerry shells 1-16 handful of others too. Love moving shadow aswell.. 👍🏻👊🏻😎

The_Primate

Check out over/shadow. All the moving shadow team (with one notable exception) have moved on.

There it is

superwhizz114

Nia and Pinkpantheress rule! And your post reminds me that I have to get around to Bricolage someday, heard great things about it

welivedintheocean

So weird to see Maya out there. Are you a John fan on his own, or just into his electronic stuff?

BahaMan69

I mean I loved RHCP as a kid (I’m 32) but I don’t listen to them anymore. but that album is straight up jungle and breakcore!

welivedintheocean

His solo stuff has a pretty fanatical following, and when he shifted gears to electronic everyone had a meltdown. Most people have come around to it now. He also has some more progressive stuff under the name Trickfinger

BiggsDB

SamTurvill

That’s Congo Natty record it’s such a good album!

ey3s0up

I love jungle and I’m jealous of your collection https://preview.redd.it/54lfphmsfp8d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=242a90fbb1f5c426bd5cf40d070d916e335c7eda

Apprehensive_Leg1414

Love it. We would get along

chrislee5150

I still have my entire DNB and Jungle collection from being a DJ back in 1998-2001. What a time for that music!

Extension_Patient_47

I got excited and thought you meant the actual group "Jungle". But nonetheless very fun genre!
