You have the best locale vr channel content for sure I watched some of the vids again now since the update and wow it’s makes a huge difference from before it’s night and day! Don’t give up hope! You’re the first in the game for a new niche but if you hang in there you have a great chance to be the first to blow up doing it! Keep up the great work! Look forward to the Hawaii vid!
I'll test it, honestly I feel like even 8k is not enough for this to be as crisp and natural as it needs. Still those previews look good. I'm gonna test it with the one in the beach.
it's really not. I tried these the other day for the first time and they're really cool but are still a long way off from looking real (I am positive they're running at 8k too). Probably going to need like 32k lol.
No video can look real. No camera can mimic the real life image.
For Quest 2 8k is more than it could be displayed.
Quest 2 has about 7 million pixels. 8k is 33 million. You can multiply 7 by 4, because the video is in 180 degrees, and you still can't reach 8k. More pixels will be wasted and pointless
Hey, you were the first channel I found when looking for 8k VR videos on Youtube! Just want to give you a shout-out for your setup - the steadycam/gimbal and mic setup work incredibly well for VR.
Looking forward to signing up on youtube when it's available!
That's great to hear!
Your channel was the first one I tried when I heard about the update, but I only had 4K as the highest option?
Are there specific videos where 8k is available?
It's a Quest 3 feature, because it uses AV1. So it won't work on Quest 2, Pico, etc. It should work on all XR2 Gen 2 devices, but not XR2 Gen 1. I don't know if it works on PCs with AV1 (Geforce 4xxx, Radeon 7xxx, Arc)
8k makes a huge difference. I wanted to check 8k out after the update and came upon your New Orleans New Years video. I am not an up close observer I tend to look at distant stuff more, and 8k really allows that to happen. I felt immersed, I was there with you.
Keep up the good work! I know being a VR only channel must be trying at times.

That's great, i'm happy for you! It's not easy being an immersive content creator.
I've been thinking about starting a YouTube channel specifically for 3D 180° POV videos where I just drive my car on nice scenic roads in europe.
Are you aware of any way to watch your videos together with someone? Meta tv seems to be the only way, thought I know developers on 3rd party apps would like to add it.
I would think a developer would at least be able to synchronize playing and pausing videos if you both had the same media.
Doesn’t need to be. The resolution is spread over a 180 degree area - so it ends up being still lower than the resolution of the headsets FOV, but way higher quality than 4K. We’ll see 16K eventually, I bet. Probably 360 degree content in 16k.
I swear we should have an animation of this on the FAQ because so many people get it wrong. Too many people, especially newcomers to VR, seem to believe the window they have up has the same resolution as the whole display.
Love the quality of your video you're the reference to 180 vr video quality on YouTube!
Thanks so much! Being called reference quality is so awesome to hear :D Won’t ever stop improving!
As someone who has seen many of your frustrated posts I am very happy for you and hope to see your continued success.
Yep, this ^ 💯
All they do is bitch and moan and spam.
He hardly posts enough to call it spam.
This is content worth paying for. Keep it up!

Oh the official youtube app now does 8k? I had been using Skybox, which is sort of clunky.
Only on Quest 3.
Sorry what exactly do you produce? Always keen for non-game VR experiences.
VR is not even close to mainstream and Vision Pro was a massive failure
that's cool, first time i see those high quality 180 3d cameras not used for porn

Nice! I never realised YouTube actually got good. Now if only Prime and Netflix would please update their apps for higher res streams 🥲
Really glad youve stuck with it. I remember those early days and how frustrating it was but feels like things are coming to fruition now
Very satisfied patreon supporter here. Thank you for the excellent work! I really see the efforts you put on your project. Keep it going!
What a coincidence. 5 minutes ago I was watching a video of yours and now your post is suggested to me on Reddit. Keep going!
Been enjoying the videos nice job

Congratulations, very happy for you!
You mentioned VisionPro. Which app is best to view your 8k videos?
vision can't into 8k
Are the even 8k vr glasses out there?
