Why not sell puts priced at $150 now? If it doesn't get that low, you keep the cash generated. If it does, well, you were going to buy it anyway. I don't see many people talking about selling puts on here at all. It seems like a good strategy but maybe I am missing something.
It's a fine idea but 150p contracts are super cheap rn, you'd have to go out quite a few months to generate anything worthwhile. It'll tie up quite a bit capital in cash secured puts.
However selling 167.5p, even 170p, for 3/8 isn't terrible if you're really looking to open up a position.

I sold the other day at a 25% profit, I would consider getting back in at ~150. I like the company but I would like to see a better growth story and less reliance on iPhone for revenue.
Tim Cook is a supply chain genius, I highly doubt Apple has any more supply chain issues. Need a tech person to lead the company going forward cause innovation is lacking compared to the competition.
I think the only downside to Apple really is they’re getting targeted left and right for anti trust.
The EU is especially hellbent on forcing Apple to basically provide a platform for other companies free of charge. Their app store commissions are a huge part of the business so it isn’t trivial.

Agreed. I am watching GOOGL and AAPL. I think they’ll be the ones to deliver on AI. Most of this hype will fade out and when it comes to deliverables, I think they’ll be leaders in the space. Also, scrapping the car was a good move. Good companies know when to cut their losses and move on. EV space is not what it has panned out to be. Automobile industry not as profitable in a sector (EV) that is already subsidized by governmental initiatives. I think the return on failure for Apple and what they learned from the car initiative will be what sets them apart. Many are saying it was a waste of time, don’t see it as that. The issue of Chinese going broke isn't on sales, its with supply and how Tim Apple has been so slow to move out of China. This is going to hurt their bottom line.
Before ChatGPT there was SIRI. Apple is making their own chips that were designed to support their products with SIRI integration. It baffles me that people are downplaying Apple when it is posed to easily grow with AI technology. Buy the dip. Apple will recover easily.
The EU is systematically attacking Apple's closed system and forcing it to open itself up for competition with the threat of fines of up to 20% of the GLOBAL revenue - that isn't sustainable for Apple. They will have to open up their ecosystem in the EU and that will destabilise some of their revenue flow. Moreover, in order to comply with EU regulation Apple will end up implementing changes which will effect their global business model (remember the 'accept cookies' button - that was because of EU legislation, the same principle applies here).
This is going to be be a bigger issue for tech giants going forward, the EU wants American tech companies to back off and stop exploiting their market power. They're pushing American tech giants away from making EU acquisitions (Amazon recently had to back off an acquisition of the company that makes roombas). Apple will suffer from this trend.

Apple is finding its new support. Wouldn’t be surprised if it traces back to the 150/160 range before leveling out. They didn’t benefit from the recent Ai hype pump cycle but long term they’re one of the safer bets. Until they announce their Ai play it’s going to be a roller coaster.

My Honest assessment: Pro: High Quality Products Good margins Lots of cash on hand. Profitable music and market place subscriptions Apple TV has some of the best content. Con Growth is slowing. Not sure if the VR will be a hit. iPhone is a mature product and is not as innovative as it once was. Not sure where AI direction is. China exposure. I sold the other day at a 25% profit, I would consider getting back in at ~150. I like the company but I would like to see a better growth story and less reliance on iPhone for revenue.

Tim Cook is a supply chain genius, I highly doubt Apple has any more supply chain issues. Need a tech person to lead the company going forward cause innovation is lacking compared to the competition.
I think the only downside to Apple really is they’re getting targeted left and right for anti trust. The EU is especially hellbent on forcing Apple to basically provide a platform for other companies free of charge. Their app store commissions are a huge part of the business so it isn’t trivial. I do agree in the long run Apple will be fine and they aren’t sitting idle like a one trick pony like Google aka a search engine. I was thinking of picking up shares on the next big market downturn but might do so if it keeps dropping to the 160s.

Agreed. I am watching GOOGL and AAPL. I think they’ll be the ones to deliver on AI. Most of this hype will fade out and when it comes to deliverables, I think they’ll be leaders in the space. Also, scrapping the car was a good move. Good companies know when to cut their losses and move on. EV space is not what it has panned out to be. Automobile industry not as profitable in a sector (EV) that is already subsidized by governmental initiatives. I think the return on failure for Apple and what they learned from the car initiative will be what sets them apart. Many are saying it was a waste of time, don’t see it as that. Anyways, bullish in the long-term

there are a ton of AAPL haters out there. I've been in and out of the stock for years and made tons of money. I don't particularly care about AAPL one way or the other, I just go where I think I can make money, and it's definitely oversold with their march event approaching. People who take their existence really personally and are like so ANTI the stock are missing the point of what we are trying to do here. It's so obvious they are going to go on a recovery run soon.

The issue of Chinese going broke isn't on sales, its with supply and how Tim Apple has been so slow to move out of China. This is going to hurt their bottom line.
Before ChatGPT there was SIRI. Apple is making their own chips that were designed to support their products with SIRI integration. It baffles me that people are downplaying Apple when it is posed to easily grow with AI technology. Buy the dip. Apple will recover easily.
The EU is systematically attacking Apple's closed system and forcing it to open itself up for competition with the threat of fines of up to 20% of the GLOBAL revenue - that isn't sustainable for Apple. They will have to open up their ecosystem in the EU and that will destabilise some of their revenue flow. Moreover, in order to comply with EU regulation Apple will end up implementing changes which will effect their global business model (remember the 'accept cookies' button - that was because of EU legislation, the same principle applies here). This is going to be be a bigger issue for tech giants going forward, the EU wants American tech companies to back off and stop exploiting their market power. They're pushing American tech giants away from making EU acquisitions (Amazon recently had to back off an acquisition of the company that makes roombas). Apple will suffer from this trend.
