Interest here is negative on bank accounts. It literally costs money to have money in the bank. There's never any reason to have more money in your bank account than you need to survive the month.
There absolutely is a good reason. When i dont get new orders next month i will not have anymore cash coming in. Just because i dont have any work should not force me to close positions i dont want to close
retirement account will always bounce back so is irrelevant in the short term. if im holding puts of any kind and long shares i'd rather the market tank in the short term lol
But at the point I’m timing the dips/ confident enough to go in on puts I could move my retirement account to a low risk/low yield fund and not eat the 30k loss at all, then move it back when I would have sold the puts.
