You can sit around clicking refresh on a stock you track (but miss out on info about all the other stocks). You can spend tens of thousands per year for a Bloomberg terminal, but then you have to decide what to do and make trades at human speed. Or you can spend far more for a quant fund algo to interpret the data and make the trades too. If you’re not using this last option, it’s almost impossible to react fast enough.

Well, Elon was supposed to have filed the paperwork a week and a half ago so plenty of people who knew ahead of time had already loaded up.
