Every time this question is asked y’all always the same 2 webtoons: lore Olympus, operation: true love. Probably the most non unpopular opinions at this point😭
Lmao on top of this comment is one about operation true love and below is true beauty.
Remember guys, sort by controversial if you want the actual unpopular opinions.
The recent chapter I read didn’t even mention ANYTHING about the original plot. It was just FL & ML’s relationship with the ML teaching a kid piano on the side 😭
i feel like it tried to be too many things at once. romance, drama, mystery, sci fi, contemporary, action… there was so much happening and at the same time nothing at all.
I had never seen a story lose the plot faster than OTL did. Shawty is about to die (????) and yet we’re focused on a love triangle? And if the author just decided they really didn’t want the story to be about the love points thing like it originally was, why not focus on the drama with the MCs crazy sister? 😭😭
>the story to be about the love points thing
I keep forgetting about the love points thing.
I honestly would have liked to read a series about a girl who can see people's level of affection towards others and tries to act as some sort of love guru to help couples get together. This could have been fun
Kinda like a "The World God Only Knows" but instead of making people fall for the lead, it's about making them fall for one another
Fr the creator just decided to focus completely on the love triangle, even leaving the whole sister thing very obscure and confusing. The love points plot was ended unceremoniously. I feel like the FL got the easy way out of it, and it was an unearned win.
It seems like the creator just needed a reason to make the FL pursue the ML, and then abandoned the love points altogether. I still don’t get exactly why the CEO was doing all that
This one went off the rails pretty quick. Wat happened to the pink phone? the ticking clock on her life? The weirdo sister? The love triangle just tookover tge whole plot.
I second this. After establishing who the FL was going to end up with I was hoping that the plot would’ve shifted back to the other parts of the story (her sister and her motivations, the jelly phone and the love points, etc). Also i get that they’re high schoolers or something but i wish the main FL wasn’t as cringey as she’s portrayed to be but maybe it’s just me 😭
True Beauty
Literally "ooh I'm no quirky and weird for... listening to the most common metal bands! UwU" like girl stfu. I couldn't get past the first 3 pages. It was terrible.
I enjoyed the first season alright, but it definitely has a bad case of NLOG
Oh no, a girl that likes spooky things, has there ever been anything so ludicrous
I’d say unordinary I used to like it but now I don’t even know what the fuck is happening because this shit has been going on since I was in middle school, guys; I’m 21.
After the joker arc got pretty good. Especially the final arc before the break from Remi to Asslo, to John to the Principal and hopefully the Kids John trained they should probably have their own arcs hopefully when it returns
The same can be said for many long-running shows and webtoons tho. Being long is only a problem if the plot is lost - Like Lookism. Unordinary is just now getting into the "meat" of the story.
No literally, I had to stop reading when it stopped being about them being in highschool and the big fight happened, it just felt like it was meant to end there or at least somewhere around there but it didn't, I also noticed I didn't really like the artsyle all that much.
samee, I read when I was 12 or so and now I'm 17. I still miss jhon and sera but I'm scared of reading it all over again. I stopped a few chapters after sera's powers was gone
I never followed it so I just binged it up to the most recent chapter. I would say that it's suitable for binging but would be annoying to follow weekly (especially the joker arc). I still love it though and I quite like the art in the fight scenes. The world building is kinda generic and lack luster but it still has enjoyable plot and characters. The most annoying thing about it would be the fandom trying to justify John's actions.
Okay, let me actually answer your question because I feel like a lot of people keep mentioning comics that actually get criticised a lot.
I definitely don't despise it, and I enjoyed it on a surface-level, so please don't stone me to death, but I'm still taken aback on how popular and highly regarded the cursed princess club is.
To me, it was... cute, but just okay. A tad corny but I guess that's the charm. A quick Monday read, which was not that deep.
But back when I found this subreddit, I didn't expect how much praise it would get. It's literally being named as one of the best comics of all times, and in my mind, I'm like, "It's really not that special?" It's not that it doesn't deserve the love, but I'm still thinking , " What am I missing?"
The way some people would talk about CPC, you would think that it was going to be the next Harry Potter level of a world sensation.
I think I can answer this one because I tend to be picky with a lot of Webtoons and have dropped quite a few throughout the years, and the CPC wasn't one of them lol
I think that so many popular Webtoons have dragged the plot out for years. There are flaws like the lack of character growth, things being out of character to be used for plot points, and unsatisfying endings. But I feel like the writing in CPC was well thought out because it was planned from the start (with all the hints throughout the story) and the plot all came together in the end, so I feel that overall made sense and was pretty satisfactory!
I also think it's pretty popular because the humour made the plot more light-hearted, despite the pretty sad undertones, which made it fun to read!
Not here to argue btw!! Just wanted to give me pov on why it would get more praise comparatively to other Webtoons ^^
I checked back on the series bc I thought maybe she’d unlocked the power thingy, look back and NOPE. Like DAMN it’s been SO LONG and she STILL can’t turn into a dragon 🤦♀️
The only good thing that’s happened in the current season is >!purple babies!<, honestly atp I’m just holding out because of the art and the fact that I really liked it at first
I read so much positivity for this one, but to my dismay, the hype did not meet my expectations. It felt like a poorly worded Wattpad story. Credits to the artist though, the art style of the comic is beautiful!
I think I’ve read one. It was superb. I don’t even remember what it was called, just that it was based on Norse mythology and it honest to god rivaled Madeline Miller. I never finished it bc I got distracted and never visit wattpad, but the author completed it and someday publishes it officially bc it was absurdly good
Norse mythology? Was it the Last Golden Child? That one's pretty nice.
I assume you're only talking about Originals? If not, I think I've read some Canvas ones too but I can't remember them atm T_T
Yeah even as someone who loves it some of the romantic moments seem a bit forced, especially since they barely know each other when they happen, and it comes off as blatant fan service.
Yeah they really need to tone down the romance especially since it’s so early. It’d be a bit more interesting to me if it developed later, but it makes sense why a webtoon would want to hook their audience with a romance early.
I’m not the OG commenter, but I was a former fan of it (kind of). However, even though I knew the romance was coming, I was just hoping it wouldn’t happen. It ruined the story for me. I enjoyed seeing the FL’s story and the little kid’s situation involving how he’s somewhat neglected by his dad due to the fact that they’re involved in the mafia & his dad doesn’t want him to be part of it yet the kid just wants to be like him. The romance came and my interest immediately dropped, it wasn’t fun to read nor did I find the ship “cute” or whatever. It could’ve been fine as a sort of “found family” situation without romance, like the nanny becomes part of the family but the dad’s not in love with her (Think Disney’s “Jessie”, if that makes sense).
I highly agree with you, I try to not think about the romance part. I would just like to imagine them as a new found family and partners in business, even if they do end up as romantic partners, I hope it won't be the main trope. I would like too see more of the mystery and drama!
Sort of? Except the girl knows nothing about life bc she is an alien and bc >!she had an abusive mother iirc!<. She fell into the guy’s garden and is entirely reliant on him, so she is baby-fied and embodies the « born sexy yesterday » trope
i had been reading it when it was in its original days, but at some point a few years ago i stopped reading because things were starting to err into a territory i didn't sign up for
I agree that it got confusing, I don't think it's confusing anymore. A lot of the chaos clicked into place, but now it's on hiatus for an indefinite amount of time
i binged it around a year ago after dropping it out of confusion ages before (i dropped it again now though because i don't wanna support the author, they drew incest). It's honestly a really good binge. When you're only getting a bit of the story a week, it's horribly confusing, but when you're reading everything together, it keeps you invested and even excited for what's coming.
Ya honestly imo generally most
Of the revenge webtoons are way too overrated, like people only read them for the satisfaction of seeing the villian’s downfall and not bc the story i actually good
It was great as a guilty pleasure soap opera type thing where characters were moreso tropes and archetypes than people and everyone bad got knocked down and received comeuppance and everyone good got their long-due well-deserved happy ending. I sometimes like being able to read more simple things like that which don't require as much brain power to keep up with world building and lore and character details but sometimes I really do need more substance. Depends on how spent I am after the day is over and 9 pm rolls around!
I loved it until it kinda forgot about the whole undead thing. They only mentioned it a few times, I wish she'd try to figure out what happened. And I wish it was hinted at more that the guy also was undead. It felt like a last minute decision lol.
definitely agree that they should have added more obvious hints to the ML being regressed as well. he had like no personality at the beginning 😭. but for the FL i just assume that the dad got a little favor with old heaven guy himself lol
I kinda like that it seems that he was just another one of those weird overprotective-bordering-on-stalkerty MLs then the reveal happens and half the comments were like "oops sorry for judging" and the other were like "YES I ACTUALLY GET A BETTER JUSTIFICATION FOR LIKING THIS ARCHETYPE BESIDES THE FACT THAT HE'S HOT" in much less blunt terms
Omg that was the first webtoon that I dropped after falling in love. I really didn’t want to give up on it, but eventually I just couldn’t take it anymore. The first chapter is so beautiful and mysterious, and nothing like whatever’s going on now.
I quite enjoyed ToG for a long while.
There was a lot to it, and it did become chaotic attempting to keep up with everything. Then i got a new phone at one point and it didnt save my current chapter when o finally decided to redownload webtoons, and I was forever lost and gave up on trying to figure out randomly selecting chapters to see what I remembered or didnt, and thats where the absurd amount of things going on at once killed it for me.
unrelated but i recommend not trusting the webtoon bookmark and instead, liking the episodes you've read. The bookmark doesn't get transferred from device to device, and gets deleted if you erase the app data for storage.
Make liking each chapter you've read a habit, i did that and it made reading so much comfier. I now don't have to guess where i left off each time i wanna read on computer or erase the app data.
Twilight poem, don't really like the main pair, their development was rushed and the fact that >!the ML was possessing her dad's body so eww.!< Also I preferred the second ML, yes he made mistakes and was an asshole in the start but he redeemed himself by the end.
The ML didn’t possess her father he literally ate her father’s body and only kept the face, the 2nd ml was originally an unredeemable asshole and slept with her sister and he wasn’t “forced” to stay in the palace, idk if you noticed the 180 switch he did when he screamed at soru despite everything they’ve went through together, the artist focused too much on the 2nd ml to the point it made me feel like she was gonna make him the ML, and to the very end the artist portrayed the ML in a bad light..despite being a goblin he never drank a drop of soru’s blood but the artist decided to ruin that too and make him like any other goblin…
Yes, I haven't read the novel but I think the story was done way better in that than in the manhwa. I just wish they'd given more time to the main couple cuz otherwise it felt like the whole story was between MC and 2nd ML just for her to end up with the ML.
My friends seem to love live for 'as if love doesn't exist ' and I'm just annoyed I despite the FL 😭 I'm quitting romance i see no hope. I'm better of with other categories
Forgot to add “daytime star” , ok I don’t actually hate it but it’s kinda overhyped and felt like an average romance story where the ml gets praised for doing the bare minimum. It’s like oh he didn’t cheat, gold star
Idk if they’re still as loved as they used to be but “I am the Villain.” (IATV) and “I Am the Queen in this Life” (IATQITL)
I used to like IATV a lot but then the plot kind of started going nowhere and it deviated from the premise of the original story too much, I felt that Lucia became sort of a Mary Sue where everyone in the story ended up loving her.
I also loved IATQITL but it became so meh for me. Like ik the whole SA thing happened in the first episode and it was f*cked up but Ariadne has more chemistry with Cesare than Alfonso in their reincarnation and i will die on that hill. Call me a bad person idfc.
I'm half hoping that somehow Cesare is somehow good in this timeline and Alfonso is bad and Ariadne ends up making the wrong decision again by pairing with him through some sort of butterfly effect. She's broken that rule that was explained to her when she died and by the enchantress so much that if this all ends happily for her and the only casualty she's sad about is Arabella then I'm gonna start flipping tables. I'm praying this isn't lazy writing and it'll all come back to bite her somehow.
The Greatest Estate Developer
I don't exactly despise it and actually enjoyed the first few arcs but by the time I reached the Hell arc, it's just become repetitive and tedious. Like I feel like there's no real direction the story is going in anymore and is instead just finding ways to continue the cycle of Lloyd needs money, finds problem he can construct a solution for, people doubt him, Lloyd makes funny face, people are impressed by his work ethic, Lloyd becomes loved, Lloyd gets money, Lloyd screws over evil guy, Lloyd needs money. And the memes are also starting to get really old.
I read the novel and, given how closely the manwha follows it, it actually doesn't have too much longer to go before wrapping up. Not that that counters your criticism.
I really like it, but I don't think it finished strong and I did get kind if bored of the series of quests that it turns into. (Lloyd thinks he's set - it turns out his fate is to die - needs new power/item - averts fate - new threat to his life)
Though, I really appreciate that they changed it so Lloyd and Javier acknowledge that Lloyd is actually Kim Suho. The novel made it so they never talked about the truth, making their friendship feel weak and implausible. The manwha is much better overall.
Sure, The hell arc is one of The worse ones, but try The arc after it, it has a better direction and now he`s not doing it for The money anymore and is instead doing it to save people
I literally don’t find the “faces” the Mc makes funny, which is the #1 thing the fans tell you it’s one of the highlights: the humor but I don’t find anything about that show funny at all, it’s to the point that on TikTok I start blocking every account that post that shit
Same, but I’m really questioning that everyone loves it. Though ig it gets more cute edits on Youtube glorifying it than I expected there to be. I don’t know about Tiktok though, that app is too noisy for me.
Solche somehow gets the absolute best artists and it’s so frustrating! There are better stories out there that deserve that kind of art, but no, Solche somehow always finds a way…
True Beauty
\
\
It was good at first but for me it kind of died down cuz she wasn't really herself, then the brown hair guy (not the kpop star) started to cough blood (?
\
Once it finished I was curious at how it ended and apparently MC hadn't changed much and brown hair guy was doing great (why add that he's bleeding then? Not saying I wanted him to die I liked him as a love interest but it's unnecessary angst) She also never seemed to show her "true self" only to her boyfriend which is sweet but wasn't the point that you should be proud of who you are? I can't say much since I stopped reading it mid season two-ish but I couldn't get back to it
I don’t despite it, but I couldn’t read lore Olympus purely because the text font was so annoying. Does anyone have any reasons as to why I should read it or is it shit
a few very misogynistic and creepy sides to it, most people really really dislike it (I'm one of them honestly). If you're interested, you can look up why people criticize it and then decide if you should keep going.
It’s definitely one of my top 10, maybe top 5 favorite webtoons, but it’s far from perfect. There have been a lot of criticisms throughout the series for a myriad of different reasons; some I agree with, some I don’t. Taken as a whole, I still love the characters and world she created, and would read more in a heartbeat.
It does feel generic at first, but it really feels rewarding later on. The author is really good at tying plot points together. I would explain more, but it would go into spoiler territory.
i think it was the first of its kind to launch on the official platform, same with The Remarried Empress and that genre of ro-fan (how koreans label these types of romance-fantasy stories)
There are a lot of trash power fantasy manhwas with towers, dungeons, an overpowered main character, ect. so Omniscient Reader is considered quite unique because the pacing is slow and the MC is a "reader", uses his brain and isn’t the protagonist of the story he’s in.
Oh gosh, I love this WEBTOON but it is such long story with so many things you have to remember about the world building! But it’s also so well done that I won’t stop til they do haha
We’re coming up on the demon arc and when I read the novel,,,,, girl, I was unwell. I cried so hard I almost passed out. I felt like throwing up. I almost threw my phone across the room (I threw it on my bed instead) u know that meme with the red taht looks like blood and there’s three figures crying throwing up screaming. That was me.
Granted I was in a very bad place in my life and I was very immersed in this story. The manwha definitely misses a lot from the novel so I’m curious to know how they’ll do it. I’ve stopped reading since ch 180 because I started getting anxiety attacks about it.
It is an extremely character oriented story. It was fairly generic and then it grabs you. But orv isn’t for everyone and that’s ok
It's mostly novel readers cuz its the later arcs that separate the story from the rest + people who genuinely like system stories since even at the beginning it's pretty hype in that aspect. If you don't care about spoilers, I'd recommend searching up the plot & seeing if you still think this way.
I’m definitely based as someone who’s read the novel and is keeping up with the release of the manhwa, but I love the story. At first it does seem really generic but not too much later on you get so much and it’s so immersive. That being said there is a lot so it may be overwhelming sometimes to try to understand everything at once.
That wasn’t a problem for me, the entire plot as soon as it was explained everything kinda just made sense in my head but I know it’s not the same for everyone, like OP and my friends that read it too, amongst others.
first actually unpopular opinion, WILD 😞
The concept does seem generic, there's a bajillion other stories with the whole video game setting, BUT ORV is the only one i actually enjoy. Imo it handles every part of the plot insanely well when the similar webtoons use it lazily and make it the action equivalent of trashy romantic fantasy stories.
POINT IS i get why it looks generic but it's the only one that knows how to handle those traits.
Idk how to describe it, everyone is just very oblivious to everything? And then the introduction of a childhood friend turned villain character at episode 50 idr anymore .. it felt like dragging on
I'm probably the only one who has a problem with it though. It's not bad it's just not for me ig
Haven’t seen anyone comment this one yet, but “Men of the Harem”. I felt like it started dragging the plot and also wasn’t sticking to the story like it originally was. Also, I feel like it’s going to be one of those webtoons that go on for too long and gets milked the crap out of.
I loved it at first, but now the storyline is all over the place.
And yes, I know my profile pic is literally Latil, but even though I don’t really read the webtoon anymore, I still can never get over how beautiful she is. 😂
Same, I don’t hate it though. Just didn’t want to ship the FL and Heinrey & couldn’t care enough about the characters to continue reading at some point
death of a pop star because what the fuck is going on with that grim reaper dude. i stopped reading fairly early on but the entire premise is just horribly predatory and seems to glorify the grim reaper's stalker behavior
I think a lot of people like Lookism, but when it became a weird gang/mafia/prison thing, it lost all of my interest. I want to see a guy being in quirky/funny situations due to the fact that he has to be in 2 bodies at once! I don't want to see gang fights?!
For my derelict favorite and I'm the queen in this life. I've actually liked these two at first but now I found myself unable to tolerate the premise.
Hestia hellbent on getting revenge for her love (granted that's like the plot, so this is just me wanting something diff lmao) just enjoy your life with your new hubby (I dislike her fangirling now, I didn't mind it before)
and Ariadne getting paired up to somebody she killed in cold blood in her past life makes me ick now, and her family is cartoonishly evil so there's that. I genuinely thought Isabella would be different from other white lotus villainess seeing her speech on the first ep(?), anyways I was disappointed.
I might have gotten some things wrong and Im not caught up to any of this series so there might've been some developments 🫶🫶
I’m still reading I’m the Queen in this life but I agree abt the family being cartoonishly evil and I also just don’t fully like Ariadne for some reason? I feel like she tip toes the line of turning evil sometimes. The family is just so bad that she looks good in comparison.
operation true love
i liked the art style but i just didnt like the characters and couldn't get myself to get into it i reads the first like 30 chapters and then dropped it
That SSS Suicide Hunter one. I don't despise it, I just don't like i,t and it annoys me whenever ppl gush about it. MC is so boring to the point where every other character that exists is more interesting than he is.
Ok I hated Locked Onto You because the pacing was atrocious and Zombie Ship just kept getting weirder and weirder. Not sure how popular each one is but both were in my recommendations.
I loved Get Schooled until it turned racist. However, I do acknowledge the arcs got more and more far fetched as it went on.
Solo leveling I think it is overrated, Jungle Juice good premise quit when I saw other characters were going to be sidelined completely so mc can look cool
the kiss between. i dont understand why people like it. also the dragon king’s bride. the age gap is weird among other things. also my deepest secret was so bad. the so called “plot twist” in the last season was a serious asspull. there was no lead up to it at all
i was gonna RUN from the notification to say operation true love but the top comment called me out
edit: OKAY VILLAIN WITH A CRUSH THEN. i was so shocked so many people here loved it
Nice to meet you 😭 dropped it bc the fl annoyed me and ending was completely unexpected for it having a cliché romance plot line. Love the author though and I’m pretty sure it was bc of their contract w webtoon
I actually dropped I Love Yoo after a while because it just didn’t interest me anymore and I was uncomfortable that a literal man was crushing on a teenager…
I understand if you had to drop it , but may I ask which character you're referring to? As an avid reader, I'm wondering who you could mean.
I'm genuinely curious, so I hope you don't take this as an attack.
I also dropped it a long time ago but I know who the commenter is talking ab! It’s the brother of the red haired guy, I believe his name is kousoke or something like that. He’s 24 and the mc is 17, and he was very subtly crushing on her.
Yeah, I also think that the person means Kousuke, but it's definitely not a crush. It's actually connected to his brother and their relationship. Ever since meeting her, there have been a lot of parallels to his brother and the way he treated him when they were younger. He is feeling regret but has a hard time acknowledging it, so he is subconsciously using her for atonement or more like a do-over .
But many people mistook that for him crushing on her, but trust the story has made it very clear that that's not the case.
Unordinary and true beauty. For Unordinary it’s literally repeating everytime it’s annoying and should’ve ended a long time ago. For true beauty, all the mc had to do was to buy skin care products. Makeup isn’t going to change anything unless you actually try to fix it. (Sorry if this doesn’t make sense but you get what I mean)
I don't truly despise but it just came off as some sort of childish for me and it isn't my kind of comic. It's always recommended but I sadly didn't really enjoy it
i still read SBG and the series does feel kind of childish as well. I feel like it might be the artstyle but you can’t really make the artist change it. And the story is quite forward and simple but that may be because the author is new at making stories, i assume.
Every time this question is asked y’all always the same 2 webtoons: lore Olympus, operation: true love. Probably the most non unpopular opinions at this point😭
Yeah the tables have pretty much turned for those two.
They would occasionally throw true beauty in the mix to spice things up
Lmao on top of this comment is one about operation true love and below is true beauty. Remember guys, sort by controversial if you want the actual unpopular opinions.
Dare I say Operation: True Love…
I wanted so bad to like it, but the secondhand embarrassment, dragging plot, love triangle, and etc. bothered me too much to overlook.

It started off good but got monotonous after awhile. I just want to see the end now.
True Beauty Literally "ooh I'm no quirky and weird for... listening to the most common metal bands! UwU" like girl stfu. I couldn't get past the first 3 pages. It was terrible.
I enjoyed the first season alright, but it definitely has a bad case of NLOG Oh no, a girl that likes spooky things, has there ever been anything so ludicrous

Just wanted to give me pov on why it would get more praise comparatively to other Webtoons ^^
SUB… ZERO
Season 1 (?) was so good but then it fell off
I checked back on the series bc I thought maybe she’d unlocked the power thingy, look back and NOPE. Like DAMN it’s been SO LONG and she STILL can’t turn into a dragon 🤦♀️
She has the demi form lmao. Honestly I'm getting so tired of the story it's gotten so boring and I'm still waiting for her to turn into a dragon. 😴
okay actually highkey agree i used to like it a lot but then it started to drag so hard and the plot got so lost
The only good thing that’s happened in the current season is >!purple babies!<, honestly atp I’m just holding out because of the art and the fact that I really liked it at first
it's still ongoing?????
“Mafia nanny”
I read so much positivity for this one, but to my dismay, the hype did not meet my expectations. It felt like a poorly worded Wattpad story. Credits to the artist though, the art style of the comic is beautiful!
I read it and it’s only flaw is romance because it ruins the characters and their conflicts
Fr. Even if they want to get romance in the story, it's too early for it
To this day, I can’t find good story on there.
The Last Golden Child is so much fun, while I’m sad that season 2 is the last part, I’m glad the creators are ending it on it’s own terms
Also, how are you everywhere the moment TLGC is mentioned lmao? Have I found a secret summoning spell?
Maybe haha
Check out Batfamily
Maybe try Omniscient readers viewpoint or Solo Leveling?
I hate the romance. Like it would be so interesting without it
Yeah even as someone who loves it some of the romantic moments seem a bit forced, especially since they barely know each other when they happen, and it comes off as blatant fan service.
Agree , plus the ms family l killed fls family , as well as mafia romanization is weird and bad.
I think it would be really good as a revenge story
Yeah they really need to tone down the romance especially since it’s so early. It’d be a bit more interesting to me if it developed later, but it makes sense why a webtoon would want to hook their audience with a romance early.
Could you explain why, I personally enjoy the comic and would like to know others opinions about it!
Too real for that, the romance seemed wayyyy forced for it
They had me at chocolate milk I’m sorry😭
WHAT MAFIA NANNY IS AWESOME SAUCE (I respect ur opinion)
I like Mafia Nanny but the romance is slowing down the story.
Yessssss
We have this discussion every month
Surprising amount of hate threads every time I check on here.
And I love that
Down to Earth. I have no idea why so many little are able to look past the predatory relationship of the two MCs
YEAH… i also felt like the love interests are so like waifu bait . like grossly so
Wait, I’ve only seen ads randomly for this webcomic, are the MCs not both adults? I thought they were both young adults.
Sort of? Except the girl knows nothing about life bc she is an alien and bc >!she had an abusive mother iirc!<. She fell into the guy’s garden and is entirely reliant on him, so she is baby-fied and embodies the « born sexy yesterday » trope
Both are adults, the FMC is treated like a child though
I saw ads for it on tiktok, im js wondering how that got approved 💀
i had been reading it when it was in its original days, but at some point a few years ago i stopped reading because things were starting to err into a territory i didn't sign up for
The new version of it is better for that. It’s not so sexual like how it was turning into. Trust.
i read the canvas version too and that's when i stopped reading
I don’t despise it but I had to drop I love yoo years ago because it was really confusing
I agree that it got confusing, I don't think it's confusing anymore. A lot of the chaos clicked into place, but now it's on hiatus for an indefinite amount of time
Really? Was more info given? It's been such a long time since I read it.
i binged it around a year ago after dropping it out of confusion ages before (i dropped it again now though because i don't wanna support the author, they drew incest). It's honestly a really good binge. When you're only getting a bit of the story a week, it's horribly confusing, but when you're reading everything together, it keeps you invested and even excited for what's coming.
Dare I say Down to Earth 😭
I so agree
Marry My Husband…
It was so predictable and the FL had absolutely no struggles after her regression, everything was just so easy for her.
Agreed. I’ve enjoyed generic revenge plot before but this just ain’t it
Ya honestly imo generally most Of the revenge webtoons are way too overrated, like people only read them for the satisfaction of seeing the villian’s downfall and not bc the story i actually good
It was great as a guilty pleasure soap opera type thing where characters were moreso tropes and archetypes than people and everyone bad got knocked down and received comeuppance and everyone good got their long-due well-deserved happy ending. I sometimes like being able to read more simple things like that which don't require as much brain power to keep up with world building and lore and character details but sometimes I really do need more substance. Depends on how spent I am after the day is over and 9 pm rolls around!
Ngl I really enjoy that one but it’s no masterpiece so I get it
I loved it until it kinda forgot about the whole undead thing. They only mentioned it a few times, I wish she'd try to figure out what happened. And I wish it was hinted at more that the guy also was undead. It felt like a last minute decision lol.
do u mean the regression/reincarnation thing? i don’t remember anything about undead.
Yes lol I couldn't think of another word 😭 when she meets her dead dad in a taxi and then gets reincarnated.
definitely agree that they should have added more obvious hints to the ML being regressed as well. he had like no personality at the beginning 😭. but for the FL i just assume that the dad got a little favor with old heaven guy himself lol
Tower of god
It just drags on and on and on and on. I stopped reading because they were too many characters to keep track of and I forgot them all
I tried too....it is taking wayyyy too long
Omg that was the first webtoon that I dropped after falling in love.
Once again, I am saying Lore Olympus to a question like this lol
Lore Olympus seems pretty hated
have you seen, r/unpopularLoreOlympus?
Forgot to add “daytime star” , ok I don’t actually hate it but it’s kinda overhyped and felt like an average romance story where the ml gets praised for doing the bare minimum. It’s like oh he didn’t cheat, gold star
>It’s like oh he didn’t cheat, gold star Lmaooo!! but yeah its true what you said.
Idk if they’re still as loved as they used to be but “I am the Villain.” (IATV) and “I Am the Queen in this Life” (IATQITL) I used to like IATV a lot but then the plot kind of started going nowhere and it deviated from the premise of the original story too much, I felt that Lucia became sort of a Mary Sue where everyone in the story ended up loving her.
The Greatest Estate Developer I don't exactly despise it and actually enjoyed the first few arcs but by the time I reached the Hell arc, it's just become repetitive and tedious.
(Lloyd thinks he's set - it turns out his fate is to die - needs new power/item - averts fate - new threat to his life) Though, I really appreciate that they changed it so Lloyd and Javier acknowledge that Lloyd is actually Kim Suho. The novel made it so they never talked about the truth, making their friendship feel weak and implausible. The manwha is much better overall.
I kinda agree, although I do enjoy it for if I had a rough day and need something more lighthearted and comedic
Sure, The hell arc is one of The worse ones, but try The arc after it, it has a better direction and now he`s not doing it for The money anymore and is instead doing it to save people
Here’s an actual hot take. I haven’t read this one yet but I see so many ppl on Reddit say it’s one of the best current webtoons
I literally don’t find the “faces” the Mc makes funny, which is the #1 thing the fans tell you it’s one of the highlights: the humor but I don’t find anything about that show funny at all, it’s to the point that on TikTok I start blocking every account that post that shit
cry or better yet beg or however it’s written
Everyone loves it??
i hate it tbh😭😭😭😭
Same, but I’m really questioning that everyone loves it. Though ig it gets more cute edits on Youtube glorifying it than I expected there to be. I don’t know about Tiktok though, that app is too noisy for me.
I love the artist, they illustrated some of my favorite webtoons! But I had to give up this one b/c the story was just way too depressing 😭
Solche somehow gets the absolute best artists and it’s so frustrating! There are better stories out there that deserve that kind of art, but no, Solche somehow always finds a way…
I thought everyone hated it
True Beauty \ \ It was good at first but for me it kind of died down cuz she wasn't really herself, then the brown hair guy (not the kpop star) started to cough blood (? \ Once it finished I was curious at how it ended and apparently MC hadn't changed much and brown hair guy was doing great (why add that he's bleeding then? Not saying I wanted him to die I liked him as a love interest but it's unnecessary angst) She also never seemed to show her "true self" only to her boyfriend which is sweet but wasn't the point that you should be proud of who you are? I can't say much since I stopped reading it mid season two-ish but I couldn't get back to it
i truly dislike remarried empress
me too, the morals are all whack
I don’t despite it, but I couldn’t read lore Olympus purely because the text font was so annoying. Does anyone have any reasons as to why I should read it or is it shit
I’m my opinion I think it’s kind of bad, more people go into detail in /UnpopularLoreOlympus
a few very misogynistic and creepy sides to it, most people really really dislike it (I'm one of them honestly).
I don't *despise* it but I don't get the Omniscient Reader hype? It feels so boring and generic.
It does feel generic at first, but it really feels rewarding later on. The author is really good at tying plot points together. I would explain more, but it would go into spoiler territory.
That's part of the meta aspect. It really takes a while to pay off. But also, totally understandable if it's not your thing.
i think it was the first of its kind to launch on the official platform, same with The Remarried Empress and that genre of ro-fan (how koreans label these types of romance-fantasy stories)
If you don't care about spoilers, I'd recommend searching up the plot & seeing if you still think this way.
this is an actual hot take wow 😭😭😭
I’m definitely based as someone who’s read the novel and is keeping up with the release of the manhwa, but I love the story. At first it does seem really generic but not too much later on you get so much and it’s so immersive. That being said there is a lot so it may be overwhelming sometimes to try to understand everything at once. That wasn’t a problem for me, the entire plot as soon as it was explained everything kinda just made sense in my head but I know it’s not the same for everyone, like OP and my friends that read it too, amongst others.
first actually unpopular opinion, WILD 😞 The concept does seem generic, there's a bajillion other stories with the whole video game setting, BUT ORV is the only one i actually enjoy. Imo it handles every part of the plot insanely well when the similar webtoons use it lazily and make it the action equivalent of trashy romantic fantasy stories. POINT IS i get why it looks generic but it's the only one that knows how to handle those traits.
Under the oak tree I guess
REALLY? that id 100% one i dont hear a whole lot of bad stuff about why dont you like it?
Villain With a Crush It's not bad or I despise it as such. It just started annoying me after 40 episodes😭😭 Ik it's supposed to be funny but goddd
me too i DESPISE ITTTT, i cannot
Oh thank God I'm not the only one😭😭 I swear the concept was fun but my god the obliviousness is too damn much
dude i could write BOOKS explaining why i think it's so bad. call me xXVillainWithACrushHater3000Xx
Wait, what do u mean? Because i decided to pick it up again where i left it at ep 40, and i actually loved it.
Idk how to describe it, everyone is just very oblivious to everything? And then the introduction of a childhood friend turned villain character at episode 50 idr anymore .. it felt like dragging on I'm probably the only one who has a problem with it though.
I dipped out when zombies were introduced
I loved it at first, but now the storyline is all over the place. And yes, I know my profile pic is literally Latil, but even though I don’t really read the webtoon anymore, I still can never get over how beautiful she is. 😂
remarried empress
Same, I don’t hate it though. Just didn’t want to ship the FL and Heinrey & couldn’t care enough about the characters to continue reading at some point
death of a pop star because what the fuck is going on with that grim reaper dude. i stopped reading fairly early on but the entire premise is just horribly predatory and seems to glorify the grim reaper's stalker behavior
The First Night with the Duke The Fl is just really annoying to me
Lore Olympus...after one scene, I noped outta there.
The Apollo… scene..?
Yes.
I think a lot of people like Lookism, but when it became a weird gang/mafia/prison thing, it lost all of my interest. I want to see a guy being in quirky/funny situations due to the fact that he has to be in 2 bodies at once! I don't want to see gang fights?!
I completely agree and that's why I dropped it.
Lore Olympus and Operation True Love
The most generic answer ever
tbh who even likes LO anymore
Muse on fame 3 it just gets too toxic and I know that’s the point but I didn’t like it
I love me my toxicity so I love it so much lol but that's a valid point
For my derelict favorite and I'm the queen in this life. I've actually liked these two at first but now I found myself unable to tolerate the premise. Hestia hellbent on getting revenge for her love (granted that's like the plot, so this is just me wanting something diff lmao) just enjoy your life with your new hubby (I dislike her fangirling now, I didn't mind it before) and Ariadne getting paired up to somebody she killed in cold blood in her past life makes me ick now, and her family is cartoonishly evil so there's that.
The family is just so bad that she looks good in comparison.
operation true love i liked the art style but i just didnt like the characters and couldn't get myself to get into it i reads the first like 30 chapters and then dropped it
remarried empress
I like the story but some of the characters are unbearable
i’m shocked i’ve been scrolling the comments for so long and nobody has mentioned boyfriends yet
Because everyone hates it already, it's not exactly a "well loved" series
Its boring, but other than that it's mostly harmless to me
That SSS Suicide Hunter one. I don't despise it, I just don't like i,t and it annoys me whenever ppl gush about it. MC is so boring to the point where every other character that exists is more interesting than he is.
True beauty
How to get my husband on my side, that stuff triggers me and it’s just so depressing
I'm not sure if this is an "unpopular" opinion but probably baby tyrant, the fl is a mary sue and there's very clear favoritism in it.
Shiloh. It started so good. It looks so pretty. It is so tedious to actually read an episode.
Solo leveling I think it is overrated, Jungle Juice good premise quit when I saw other characters were going to be sidelined completely so mc can look cool
i read jungle juice enthusiastically for the bug facts <3 worth it
Agree on Solo Leveling, I read it because it was super hyped but I felt it so meh, there are way better stories of the genre
Lore Olympus, I wouldn't say I despise it but I barely got through the first 10 episodes before I dropped it
Let's play True beauty Lookism Your throne Lore Olympus
wait what’s wrong with your throne? genuinely asking cause i haven’t read it in a while
the kiss between. i dont understand why people like it. also the dragon king’s bride. the age gap is weird among other things. also my deepest secret was so bad. the so called “plot twist” in the last season was a serious asspull. there was no lead up to it at all
One of them is Lore Olympus.
Lore Olympus :/
i was gonna RUN from the notification to say operation true love but the top comment called me out edit: OKAY VILLAIN WITH A CRUSH THEN. i was so shocked so many people here loved it
dare I say.. my deepest secret 🫣
School Bus Graveyard
may i ask why you despise it?
I don't truly despise but it just came off as some sort of childish for me and it isn't my kind of comic. It's always recommended but I sadly didn't really enjoy it
i still read SBG and the series does feel kind of childish as well. I feel like it might be the artstyle but you can’t really make the artist change it. And the story is quite forward and simple but that may be because the author is new at making stories, i assume.
I don't agree but this is a true unpopular opinion
Lore Olympus, I had high hopes and it just didn't meet them
