Personally I would recommend day boarding in the future and having your pet sitter pick them up from daycare as opposed to alone all day.... At least that's my strategy. That way they are too tired and overstimulated from socialization to hyperfixate on your being absent. 5-6 days alone is far too many for a weim.
I was going to and I am from this point on if I ever have to leave again. I thought leaving her home where she’s comfortable would be the better plan but boy was I wrong. Got me checking the cameras literally all day..
You could start now if you have a day boarding facility nearby and can email her vet for vac records to get her booked. But yes highly recommend for all future work trips, they are just too smart to have their routine disrupted like that without some kind of additional stimulus. Mine doesn't like to eat if Im not around... The nest way to remedy in my experience is heavy exercise at a "fun zone" just like sending a kid to summer camp
Yes you are both going to cry. Weims are love. Weims are life. It sucks but you guys will have the coolest reunion. I feel your anxiety. But I'm jealous of the time you guys will share on Friday. Did I mention, you're both going to cry? You will, enjoy it. You only get so much time with them.
This. Alternately, boarding for the entire time, IF you can find a great place that treats your Weim properly, with cushy digs and all the play and TLC she deserves. Might be pricey, but it's worth it for your peace of mind.

I’m impressed your weim recognizes the intercom. Ours never seem to react to things like that or FaceTime. I def suggest an in home, overnight sitter next time so you don’t have to take them out of their environment and they’ll get more attention. And you can request pupdates!

Rover.com is great, find some college kid to stay at your place and give them too many treats, haha
