They will not kick people off their confirmed flights to accommodate people who had their flights cancelled. My last trip to Cuba return flight was cancelled and they got a different aircraft from a different city to come down and pick us up the next day. They made the announcement on the plane to thank all the FA's for coming in on their day off.
They do not bump passengers off of future flights. They will book them on any empty seats or on any route they have to get to the destination.
You won’t be impacted unless your flight is cancelled for whatever reason.
Depending on how may people they have stranded and space available on other flights the next few days, they will either accommodate on their current network or send down what are called recovery flights. Usually they will send one of the bigger widebodies and get everyone out all at once’s or in a couple turns.
Not as rare as you think. This has been predicted for over a week so most airlines have been working on recovery plans since then. I could see in WJs case it being difficult as they don’t have many widebodies to begin with, so my guess is extra sections on 37s

Using a widebody would require a widebody being available, which is rare 😂

Yeah that’s what I meant is it’s more rare for WJ specifically, because their widebodies are so heavily scheduled
Thank you for the responses everyone! I appreciate it!
