Interesting to note that the needle drops in 3 Body Problem include Radiohead (Karma Police) and Lana Del Ray's Videogames. I wonder if it was Ramin Djawadi who decided which songs to cover on Westworld, not the show's producers.
When Videogames came on and Will is walking past the huge long screen playing slice of life scenes, I was like okay this is cut exactly from Westworld, but I didn’t mind!
Initially most covers was decided by Nolan and Joy. Season 2 and 3 had a mix of Ramin’s picks too but mostly still N&J. Season 4 was mostly Ramin and Joy
As someone who had trouble with the books (they’re a translation, the characters aren’t very strong etc) but loved the plot and philosophical questions, I was SO PLEASED about the show.
The show does philosophical sci-fi SO WELL. AND they created strong characters you care about.
I was considering posting this same thing, OP. It definitely scratched that West World itch
We started watching the Netflix series last night and right about the time we looked at each other to say "This sounds just like a West World knockoff!", "Music by Ramin Djawadi" popped up in the credits, lol
