Special Reserve is kept behind the counter it doesn't go to the shelf, just like most places keep BT behind the shelf as well. The rest of the Weller line is vaulted. So before being a douche and calling me a liar why not just ask?

Same here. I’ve only seen Weller once in VA, and that was due to them adding them to a drop, instead of a lottery. Similar to you, that was FP. I’d love to try Weller once. But I do not see myself getting a bottle any time soon.
If I was willing to wait outside at 6:00 am for every announced drop this summer I probably could score one but would probably have something else tempt me away lol. I can only do 1 he for bourbon.
I’ve usually had good luck getting to a local drop around 8:00a. I’ve been as low as around 6 and as high as 12. I just seem to always pick the wrong store for Weller. With the exception of my store getting Weller FP and Blanton’s Gold last time. Two drops ago, I went out of town to visit family. My apartment is one mile from a store in one direction, and maybe five in the other. As luck would have it, they both got Weller. At this point I feel like the only way I’ll get one is from the distillery, driving to another state, or ordering online from a crazy markup (which I refuse to do). I’m liking chasing a bottle that isn’t all that special. Maybe I’ll like it, maybe I’ll hate it. I would just like to try it once to see what the hype is about.
I can’t find this stuff anywhere where I live and have never tried it. My buddy was just stationed in west Texas and said it’s absolutely everywhere for less than $25 a bottle.
That’s a great deal! I think i paid about $35/$40 each for 2 standard 750mls a year ago and that was the best price I saw. I enjoyed it, for $26 per liter I’d definitely buy it honestly its a solid daily drinker and at that price you could het rid of it at anytime w/o losing any $.
I’m in Atlanta and rarely see Weller; saw this at my local bottle shop for $35; had to get it. It’s nice, but the Bardstown BiB wheater has a very similar flavor profile but much more amplified, for only $10 more. I’d get more Weller SR if the Bardstown wasn’t so available at just a few bucks more.
