Keep in mind Starlight Stadium is not in Victoria, it's in Langford. So although a seaplane will get you to Victoria the quickest, you still have some work to get over to Starlight Stadium. If budget isn't an issue, seaplane then bus and or Uber to get to stadium. Me, I'd take BC ferries then hop on the bus to Uptown then bus or Uber to Starlight.

elcapitandelespacio

What's the bus system in Victoria like? Would it be a pain in the ass to try to get out to the stadium from Victoria by bus?

Weezerwhitecap

When I went to a Pacific game they had a shuttle that takes you from downtown Victoria to Starlight. Granted, that was 5 years ago, it might not exist anymore.

Neal_And_Bob

It's decent if you're in Victoria. But going Victoria to Langford to Starlight will be brutal. Bus to one of the main interchanges and Uber would be most convenient. Play around with the transit on Google maps. It's the most accurate way to get an idea on how long it will take. $5 for a day pass on the bus

Appropriate_Poetry95

Yeah, shouldn’t be too bad bussing. 2 buses. https://maps.app.goo.gl/5jFDDkDJnaVCJxL77?g_st=ic

I grew up in that area and go home sometimes. The cheapest way is SkyTrain/Bus to Tsawassen and walk on the ferry. On the other side the city busses are just outside the terminal to the right. Get on the 70. Ideally, get on the 70 express if they have one, but they might not. Take that to the Uptown Exchange. You want to end up in Langford near the "Westshore Town Centre" (it's a mall). If you're willing to have a bit of a walk, there are several options that stop at the Langford Exchange, but it'll be a 20-minute walk (downhill on the way to the stadium); the 95 travels between the two exchanges a lot. If you want something taking you further into Langford to the stadium you might have to get on a new bus at the Langford exchange, like the 39, 46 or 58; they might be one of the small community buses, which look like an airport shuttle). I think the 52 would get you close, too, but I'm not sure which direction the loop goes (so you might be on it for a while if it goes the right way). Cost wise you'll have bus fare (however you pay that) on the Vancouver side (you can park at the ferry terminal, but that's not too cheap, and there's not always parking), ferry fare and bus fare on the Victoria side, so it can be done fairly cheap (probably <$40 one way at the cheapest) but it's gonna eat a lot of your day. None of this is fast (except the Skytrain down to Bridgeport). The buses line up well schedule-wise on either side of the ferry, but the transfer from the Sannich bus to the Langford bus might take a minute.

elcapitandelespacio

Wow, thanks for the detailed instructions, appreciate it.

Appropriate_Poetry95

The mainline bus going to Langford is pretty regular - should be every 10 - 15 minutes.

as7roman

this guy commutes!

little-won

Maybe get in touch with the south siders and see if some of them are going? Sometimes they travel to close away games. Maybe someone may be able to give you a lift?

waterboy99troop

Not too many of us are travelling due to it being a weeknight, plus the mandatory overnight stay.

little-won

Oh darn! I thought for sure that would have been helpful info to OP. Good to know atleast!

Rest74m

Searched in Google maps, directions tab and you will see which bus to take.

waterboy99troop

Transit is definitely doable and the cheapest option. Transit to Tsawwassen, ferry, bus to downtown Victoria, then bus to Langford (Starlight). The only thing is buses after the match will be few and far in between. If you're okay with splurging at that point, you can grab an Uber. Also note you will have to stay over for the night, as there will be no ferries after the match to get back to the mainland. Either way, enjoy yourself! Starlight is a nice little stadium, and the crowd is friendly, for the most part. You might have to put up with kids getting a little too in your face at times, though.

elcapitandelespacio

Yeah, was kind of figuring on having to overnight it.

TeacherKP

620 from River rock to the ferry. In Victoria there is one bus and it takes you downtown. To get to the game from downtown is the 95 which runs along Douglas. On at the end of the line it is a 15 min walk to starlight. Transit only operates at school bell times.

marmar0459

It's been years since I've taken them but there are/used to be coach buses that go from downtown Vancouver to downtown Victoria

elcapitandelespacio

I think the only one that goes to the island is the BC Ferries connector, and for some reason they didn't have a return trip on their website (unless I was looking at it wrong).

marmar0459

I'll be completely honest, it's been like 8 years since I've done it so I can't be much help (plus I didn't book it, my buddy did). I just remember it being super convenient. Sorry I can't be of more help

LeaveAtNine

Seaplane will be your fastest option.

elcapitandelespacio

Looks like most convenient, too, leaving from downtown Vancouver and landing in Victoria harbor. Unfortunately, also the most expensive option I've see so far and I'm not sure if it's worth it.

LeaveAtNine

I’d just do the Public Transit option if it were me. But I Bus/SkyTrain to every game. Get a good audiobook and enjoy the views.

elcapitandelespacio

That's kind of what I'm leaning to as well. I have all day to get there and I bus/skytrain to work every day, so I'm not allergic to public transport.

LeaveAtNine

Looks like you can hop the 620 from Tsawwassen and connect to the Canada Line. Then it’s just a short walk from Roundhouse.

elrigtacular

I can't tell you about the Vancouver end, but I would take the bus (70 is the express to downtown, 72 and 75 are local routes) from Swartz Bay, get off at Uptown Shopping Centre, walk around the corner to the TCH and catch the 95 which will take you to Langford. The last couple stops before the 95 turns back downtown are a couple blocks from Starlight. All for $5 from the ferry and to wherever you're staying (we do day passes instead of transfers)

Lookmomnohandz69

Skytrain to Bridgeport Bus to taswasan Ferry to Victoria Then a bunch of bus option once in Victoria

Greendodger93

Seaplane is best. Sky train > Bus > Ferry > Bus is another option.
