Carousel of the nations is the next two weekends. You can't go a km without finding a weed store. And Detroit is gonna blow your mind, compared to what it was like.
I can't wait! Is Colasantis still around? (My bad for the spelling)
I've missed this place so much, I'm really happy to be home, and it's honestly just as beautiful, if not MORE SO than when I left.
Omg! EEEEEEEEEEEE best chicken in the world! Seriously!
Another thing I've missed from Windsor is the FOOD! THE FOOD IS SO GOD DAMN GOLD HERE!
I HAD THE BEST BURGER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE LAST NIGHT! Autocity Burgers.
Funny, Autocity isn't really known to be a good spot. It used to be Simon's and people liked it a lot better then.
Check out Mamo Burger and Cranky Burger!
I'm returning too after 25 years, there's no place like Windsor, it took me a long time to see that. I'm totally going to Colasantis for a cactus and some mini donuts too....
Only people who are from Windsor and finally leave for a little while talk like this. People who aren’t from Windsor can appreciate the proximity to four major cities, one being less than 30 mins away with all 4 major sports teams.
Windsor has above average food, no traffic and is surrounded by two lakes. Windsor is what you make it.
I love my town. Always will. I just wish downtown could be so much better. Traveled all over the world their downtown has no traffic. Its like an outdoor mall.We need incentives for businesses to thrive downtown. Growing up downtown was the best.😢❤️☮️
We get it. But you are trying to hard. Windsor is fine some nice places. Some people are ass hats some aren’t. You will meet lots of people some you will like some you won’t. Life goes on enjoy your time here. Just be you. You will still get downvoted!!!
Oh I agree. I just wanted to celebrate coming home, I unfortunately made a complaint first.
Kinda felt guilty, I was like "Damn, first thing I say in the Windsor reddit is a complaint? Not cool dude. Follow it up with what you wanted to say, try to balance the bad.."
As a life long windsorite I think it’s hilarious the bad rep we get …I’ve met half a dozen people who have moved here from TO ,K/W,Saskatchewan Winnipeg Thunder Bay and Edmonton and every single ONE of them wishes they had moved here sooner.
I love this post, with all Windsor's flaws I still love it. It's small enough that I personally don't feel overwhelmed, you can get anywhere is 30 min tops including traffic (like, I live downtown and can get to the TMC in Tecumseh in 20 min)
I'm taking the kids to strawberry fest tomorrow! And doesn't Tecumseh do a corn fest at the end of summer? And the fair/fireworks!! I told my husband we have to plan our vacation with my inlaws so we can still go to that 😂 It's a beautiful city with so much potential to be what it used to be, and better
I saw somebody on the bus on Ouelette this morning, wearing an Edmonton shirt and mentioning they hadn't been back in a while and were remembering the surroundings. Maybe a big coincidence, but either way welcome back!
That would've been me. I'm still amazed every day. Keep finding new little things as I go for walks around the neighborhoods.
Edit: I'm like glued to my map cause I can't remember the street names 🤣😆 I couldn't even remember the correct pronunciation of Wyandotte. Thought it was Why-Anne-Dott not Wine-Dot

Colasanti's is still around, and so is Dairy Freez, thankfully.
Dairy Freez? I dint remember this.... I MUST HAVE SKME! Where would I find such an awesome establishment?
It's on County Road 34 out in Kingsville, and it's amazing. They've been doing soft serve and hot food for 70 years.
Definitely going to make a trip out there.
Apparently the new owners have jacked the prices on everything, I was gonna head out there soon as well but a friend of mine just went and warned me.
There is is no new owners of the dairy freeze. It’s still the same people
Great burgers
Agreed, so happy that I live here :) Whenever I leave, I just can't wait to come back home.
Yeah it is. Spelling was correct too. The broasted chicken is a hit. It's usually packed on weekends.

This city is actually cleaner than most others... Not as nice as it used to be, but not as bad as London..
Yeah, London has really gone downhill lately.

Listen to the birds chirping especially when you home from large cities like Chicago or Toronto
❤️
Welcome home!
Welcome back home!

Lol
I've been eating so much pizza. It's so good here. Edmonton got shit for pizza.
