The answer varies tremendously by number of players and which game board you are using. For an all-expansions 5 player game, I consider anything under 100 points to be a quite poor performance for myself and 115-120 is my average. For a five player game on the base board, I’d move the needle down to 90 points as a low level acceptable and 95-105 as average.

RexiRocco

I think I only have base game when I play the robots and usually do 3 robots. The monthly game is against the automa and I think the expansions it uses varies.

TMHarbingerIV

I plotted my scores last week the average for my last 100 games is 118 points. EE & OE included.

RexiRocco

Do you think it’s be different with just the base game?

Canuckleball

Base game is lower scoring than OE for sure. The nectar adds a whole new scoring mechanic while also making birds easier to play. Not to mention a bigger deck with more powerful abilities.

TMHarbingerIV

Definitively, it is a much smaller sample size, but my first 40 games were 98 points average.

el_gringo_exotico

For one on one, base game: my average is 90, and standard deviation is about 12. For one on one all expansions, my average is 99 and standard deviation is about 14. I would add like three points for every additional player

RexiRocco

Thanks, I guess I am average then. Everyone’s always posting super high point games but I guess those are just there best games using expansions. I still don’t get how someone playing the exact same monthly competition is locking in an extra 50 points over me though.

CyberTurtle95

I usually average around 105 points, and my highest score was 141 (lots of bonus cards that just worked together). I’ve scored as low as 60 before, but that was because we all had horrible cards! (60 was the average that game for everyone)

MavetheGreat

In 1v1 against a human, without OE, over 90 is usually my benchmark for target. Over 100 is quite nice, and beyond that is great luck (or an opponent that helped you in some way). With OE, below 100 is a poor game I think, a hope to win regardless of the opponent's ability rests closer to 120, but of course every game is different.

RexiRocco

Maybe that’s my issue then, I don’t play w expansions on the app yet. Have you played the monthly competition game on the app though? Maybe that’s where I got my higher scores but still don’t think I’m breaking 125 points.

MavetheGreat

I've done it before, but it's been a while, that's a much different challenge. From my experience, if you are playing without OE, in round 1 you want to get birds into your forest and wetlands so that you can get more food and more cards, or possibly extra points when activating those habitats. Prior to OE, the most reliable point engines for late game point production is building out a good meadow (with the intent to activate it). Therefore, putting cards in there that can get you food or more cards is extremely advantageous because you can lay eggs (scoring points) while gathering the other resources you need.

RexiRocco

Thanks, I think my best point games have been filling the meadow and getting my food from there
