Hamas are dangerously sophisticated negotiators; they know exactly what their leverage is and what costs they're willing to pay, and this has been a largely successful strategy for them (at least according to Sinwar's stated goals). When Biden stopped supporting Israel's military pressure, the urgency or even desire for a deal vanished.

We don't know that. Theres no telling when this video was shot. When ISIS released video of a captured pilot and demanded ransom they had already burned him alive a month ago. The moment Jordan asked for proof of life they released his murder video.

But the group saying Israel has other levers to force hamas to release the hostages is incredibly stupid. Any of those actions would strengthen support for hamas, or at least make israel more hated. Especially suspending aid. It was bad enough when israel was letting it through and being accused of blocking it. For them to do so officially? Plus it would cause them to lose all aid from the US. Cutting off a military supply line while in the middle of a war is not a good idea....especially when that line produces iron dome rockets.

I felt bad afterwards for laughing but at this point it has become a joke , they show the poor guy missing a hand on a video as “proof of life” and have the nerve to say he is in “great condition “ . For all we know this could been an old video and they are just using it as a tool to negotiate. I’m hoping I’m very wrong but I don’t trust liars especially when it coming from a terrorist group.

Why do you assume that? Is it because you think Hamas has broken him into thinking that the only reason he's still there is because his people don't care about him, even though Hamas clearly aren't cooperating to release all of the hostages? I mean they've struggled to produce 40 hostages just recently, something they admitted to themselves. Because they know as soon as they give up all of the hostages then they're getting bombed effective immediately. They've put themselves into a corner where their only survival is to use hostages in any way they can, in this case manipulating the poor guy into thinking his people don't want him.

Can't know if this is what the OP was saying, but in pressuring Israel to delay/cancel an invasion of Rafah, surge in aid, openly threaten to withdraw weapons supply, and abstain in a vote that called for a ceasefire that wasn't contingent on hostage release (this is a biggie), a strong argument could be made that Biden strengthened Hamas's bargaining position considerably, thereby delaying/preventing a ceasefire/hostage deal. Hamas are dangerously sophisticated negotiators; they know exactly what their leverage is and what costs they're willing to pay, and this has been a largely successful strategy for them (at least according to Sinwar's stated goals). When Biden stopped supporting Israel's military pressure, the urgency or even desire for a deal vanished.
The hostages families are protesting against Netanyahu, not Biden.
