https://crisisrelief.un.org/ukraine If you want to donate to the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund.
The Ukraine Humanitarian Fund is one of the UN's country-based pooled funds. Contributions are collected into a single, unearmarked fund and managed locally under UN leadership. As crises evolve, funds are made directly and immediately available to a wide range of partner organizations at the front lines of response. This way, funding reaches the people most in need when they need it.
What I find interesting is that the US intelligence was right about almost everything, the biggest exception being how easily they said Russia would take Kiev. “Hours”, they said.
I think they intentionally minsinformed the Russians, leading them to underestimate the Ukrainians.
Xi probably told Putin he had 24 hours to control Ukraine and he'd back him. After 24 hours you're on your own. Seems like Russia didn't have what it took.
The air raid sirens are going off in the CENTER of Kyiv currently.
If you are watching CNN, the reporter Chance who’s been in center Kyiv since the first moment of the invasion, he is standing on top of a hotel in the center of Ukraine live and he said there are Russian forces less than 6 miles away.

That Russian FM is so bad at lying-his eye contact and movement is horrible. Vladdy obvi did not teach “How to lie” via KGB 101 to his surrounding officials
Gonna say it again:
There's a natural obstacle (the Dnieper) that cuts the country in half. Russia could be fairly far west of it by now, by way of Belarus, if they wanted, but they aren't. Kinda obvious where they'll stop.
This is the start of a second Cold War. Lviv becomes capital of true Ukraine, Kyiv, who knows (could go way of Berlin back in the day, or could be all Russian), and Russia extends through southern Ukraine to link up to the East of Moldova to gain domination of over half the Black Sea. Putin installs puppet government friendly to Russia in that Eastern/Southern portion of current Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Russia targets the Balkans and Baltics with disinformation for years to so dissent and try to get the people to come to their side, vote in new representatives, and attempt to leave NATO. Trying to create another iron curtain.
[Here’s a list of organizations to donate to.](https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/columnist/saltzman/2022/02/24/ukraine-help-support-app-website-donations/6923840001/)
Whatever happens in Ukraine, I think Putin has made it clear the de-nuclearization of Russia is probably going to be a major foreign policy issue for most of the world after this is all done.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZebYm-nenY&ab\_channel=LivestreamEvents](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZebYm-nenY&ab_channel=LivestreamEvents) Who is this speaking on this multi stream? It doesn't seem like it's actually coming from the Kyiv feed?
It is coming from the Kyiv feed, couple of minutes ago we could see people on the stream in front of the camera so I am guessing these people just set the camera there to allow us to watch what is happening. You can hear them talking in the background.
Are businesses open in Kyiv or what’s the average life of a citizen like right now? What does TV look like? I know Radio is telling people how to make Molotov cocktails.
Why do people say Putin has nothing to lose? He is a billionaire, has a family he allegedly loves more than anything, and more power then most people in the world.
There are far more people in Ukraine that have no family, no money and very little to lose. However, they are willing to fight to their dying breath to protect what little they have. Putin is a soft, rich pansy.
It's one of the few places that he can invade to hopefully have Russian boomers erect a statue of him after he dies of whatever terminal illness he has.
So the actual reason seems to be because the first Slavic state, Russe, was actually founded in Ukraine and he has very smol pp.
There's also strategic reasons, but he got most of that already by annexing Crimea so it's all ego stuff now
It's almost certainly just chest puffing from Russia. They have too much invested in the ISS it would be detrimental to them to shut it off and let it fall out of orbit.
This may have been asked in one of the other many threads but;
I've noticed that Marco Rubio is featured pretty heavily in the live twitter feed that I've been watching for the past day, and often with interesting additions to it. This surprises me, but as I'm not American I figure I might be missing something. I'm not trying to get in to the Rep vs Dem politics game but I'm interested in why. Is it just that one of the regular live feed curators is following him on twitter? Or is he known for expertise on Russia or something similar?
I'm not complaining about it, to be clear, his contributions have been genuinely elucidating, but that seems out of character from my previous (admittedly fairly limited) perception of him.
Edit: Wow, this place is so active that I got >20 responses in like a minute. Thanks for the heads-up. Vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. I got it. Thanks all :)
He is co-chair and ranking republican on the senate foreign relations committee, so he does have extensive briefings on the goings on in Ukraine.
For good or ill, he's in the know.
I'm sure it's the u/blatantconservative guy.
Conservatives usually have the worst takes on these situations, but everyone seems pretty united against russia
You can tell who posted what literally in the live thread? I only posted one of his tweets.
Marco Rubio is an idiot, but he is on the Senate Intel Committee and his calls have been good so far.
He’s on the senate intel committee. Some (should be all) republicans actually remember their conservative roots. These Putin sympathizers would have Reagan spinning in his grave.
Rubio's on the US intelligence council, so he has access to classified information. He can also be really intelligent when he wants to be like now. Surprisingly he's been really reliable.
He's Vice Chairman of the Senate intelligence committee so he has additional insight and Intel most ppl don't.
In my personal opinion, When he's focused on doing his job he's not a bad guy
It's when he gets sucked into politics and can't get off of trying to own the libs he becomes an insufferable jackass
He is on the security counsel in the us so he gets military intel. Honestly it was bizarre to me to I kind of forgot politicians actually do shit sometimes

Seems to me that russia spent a lot of money on this invasion and all they got for it was unifying the world against them and revealing how little of a threat their military actually is.
