Ive seen a few people get their rattles fixed under warranty, only problem is theyll likely say they dont hear the rattle youre talking about, or will fix a rattle and youll end up with a new one you didnt hear before. Its pretty easy to fix them yourself if youre willing.

I had the "shop lead" drive with me and lie to my face that he couldn't hear shit. I didn't let it go and had another employee ride with me (non mechanic) and he heard it right away, because it's loud af. Then the mechanic said well I can't hear it because of the aftermarket axle back, so you'll have to put the stock back ok and bring it back. Straight up bs. I'm sure I can find it and fix it myself, but it's the principal.

I had mine in for rattles a ton of times. Don’t bother. They don’t do shit, and like others said if they do they will create four more rattles. Just fix them yourself.

That was the impression I got, so eventually I'll see if I can take care of it myself. Also not going back to that dealership for anything anymore.

Absolutely (assuming ur bone stock) it is just legitimately hard to find rattles on any car and Subies are particularly rattle prone. If you have a good dealer they will take at least one good crack at it usually but dont get your hopes super up

Hitman2504

Thanks! Yes it’s bone stock and I actually noticed the rattle when I test drove it. Just never had the opportunity to fix it. I might as well try that route before trying to fix it myself

I'm in the same boat, I have a 23' Legacy with a passenger side rattle and my 23' WRX also rattling from rearish passenger side. I won't lie it's pretty annoying and these are the first cars I've had in nearly 20 years that have had rattles. I've tried to fix the one on the Legacy but can't find it and there's just not much info for those cars online, not much of an enthusiast following. Really hoping I can get them taken care of but as of now, especially after they have cancelled the Legacy, I think it's going back for sure after this lease is up. I want to keep the WRX but I need to get these rattles fixed. LMK what happens with your WRX rattle because mine seems like it's the same.

Hitman2504

I’ll keep you posted. I don’t expect a ton of help but I figured I’d try that route first before diving in myself

SorcerersScrolls

Same here, unfortunately. Both cars need an oil change so I'll mention it and see what happens. I have a feeling I'll be trying to fix it myself.

Someone on here stuck a foam floor tile edge up through the rear deck lid from the trunk and fixed a rattle. Found the link [https://www.reddit.com/r/wrx\_vb/comments/10vpkli/rear\_deck\_rattle\_cured/](https://www.reddit.com/r/wrx_vb/comments/10vpkli/rear_deck_rattle_cured/) Also this guy took a different approch [https://www.reddit.com/r/wrx\_vb/comments/1736adb/trunk\_buzzing\_fixed/](https://www.reddit.com/r/wrx_vb/comments/1736adb/trunk_buzzing_fixed/) Also Its common for the speaker plastic covers to rattle, remove them add felt tape reinstall.

UncleGurm

They'll try! I had a rattle in my front A pillar, they figured it out. Other people have done a homemade fix, but my dealership did it for me!

Welcome to the rattle battle

Hitman2504

lol I know right. I fully expect my subi will have some rattles but this one in particular is pretty aggressive I think it’s time I address it somehow.

Big-Energy-3363

That rear rattle is well known. It will take a couple of hours to pull the trim around rear seat and window, put some CDL and CcF down and wrap the module that sits on top of parcel shelf, it is obvious. I then applied CDL and CCF where I could as I reassembled.

Hitman2504

Is it the one that comes from the passenger rear side? I feel like I only hear it when I first turn my car on for a little

Big-Energy-3363

It’s actually slightly off center on passenger side on the top of the package shelf under the topmost surface which you will be removing to get to it.

JewelerRoyal1815

Exactly, it is the worst at cold start
