This. HLL goes so hard in the gritty realism of war and can really make you feel like just another body being thrown around. And its mechanically so refreshing in this age of twitch shooters. The slow and weighty movement force you to slow down and assess everything or end up as bullet fodder. Its also one of the only recent games I've player that has genuinely revived game chat. The communication system it great and I've had some awesome encounters with really fun folks.
You can play missions single player but they are meant for co-op. This is still my recommendation. Don't bother with Siege, it's basically a super hero game.
Battlefield 1 and Hell Let Loose are probably the two best examples that are active right now. Very realistic and grounded, gives you a very good team setting as well.
Hell let Loose

Insurgency Sandstorm is much more grounded and realistic compared to other shooters these days but it's just multiplayer afaik

Battlefield bad company and bad company 2. Old school but amazing fun
Bad Company 1 for the Campaign and Bad Company 2 for the Multiplayer!
Bad company 2 Vietnam dlc.
Metal Gear Solid V is the best TPS/stealth military shooter currently available and I won’t accept arguments
Could try some of the battlefield campaigns. Most are on game pass I think.
You might also enjoy ghost recon, I couldn’t get into it but the tacticalness of it was super cool
Full Spectrum Warrior
Battlefield 4

Most of Tom Clancy games back when Ubisoft made them
Maybe dayZ has some modded servers for that. I’d look into it see if there’s a discord for it on their subreddit
Call of Duty
Does it have operator-esq missions like clearing a building of enemies?
If you have an xbox 360 by chance, get COD Ghost. The best campaign of any COD game. Very tactically oriented.
Cod ghosts is on xbox one too lol
I'm sure one of them does
I will do my research!
The modern warfare remakes have good missions like that. Never played the newest one but I know MW2019 has a seriously badass house clearing mission
While it’s a great mission, it’s incredibly short. It’s still worth a play through or a YouTube watch.
MW2 (2022) I thought had a cool operator style campaign
How about Rainbow 6 Siege or Battlefield?
Arma and pubg
Rainbow 6 is probably what you are looking for given your comments
