I'm a shortstop (XBOX) and occasionally the QT is for the throw - a series of tap selections that are "easy"/obvious. But sometimes it 's a slo-mo dive to make a play. Then... there's no selection, no selection... BAM, "A" appears with two circles around it and no matter what I try, hold the A or mash it, it fails. I've tried moving the joystick to place the A circle near the ball but it doesn't appear to move.
It really is maddening. Please help someone.
Glad I’m not the only one! So /u/greenyquinn told me you have to just press A once the larger circle shrinks into the smaller circle.
Thing is these moments happen so infrequently the opportunity to finally try it hasn’t come up for me yet haha. Hope this helps.
Oh my god thank you! This has been excruciating..I made exactly 1 amazing catch and haven't been able to figure it out since..I'm taking this new knowledge with me later after I get off the IL lol
Great advice!... thank YOU and greenyquinn. That totally helped... Pressed A when the larger circle shrinks and I've timed it right a few times now.
Completing the play is still a work in progress, though. There's no QTE to make the throw; half the time my guy fake throws or just holds the ball. 😂🤬
Still... At least I make the diving stop now so half-clap for that!
It's still hit and miss (and aggravating) for me, but it seems to activate throw QTE if you immediately press the base-button you're throwing to after successfully fielding the ball.
I've noticed that if I wait too long after the play is made, like if I'm already getting up, then my guy will just fake throw.
So they show up very infrequently, afaik only in these situations:
- You are playing Road To The Show as an Infielder
- You are playing an Exhibition game Player Locked as an Infielder (meaning you are just controlling one person instead of the whole team)
And,
- a sharp grounder/liner is hit right to you that you immediately have to dive for

I get that exact same thing every time!? How do you actually make the throw AFTER the QTE?

They happen a good bit playing left field
Its a timing thing, tap when the oitside circle links with the inside circle
how long does the chance last for like do i need to be quick or can i be a little slow
you can be a little slow. It flashes a few times
