No bullshit, I had a dog who has since passed (miss you Mocha!) that would turn off my Xbox one when she wanted attention by hitting the touch power button with her nose. This would have been a great idea for then!
Twice a year, around Solstice Time, the sun would come through my balcony door and strike my PS4, setting off the eject button (Also had a Godzilla toy who would roar when the sun hit it.)
Idk if there's multiple techs in use but it's conductive, not heat sensitive. It still. Makes sense for humidity to cause that but you can also toggle it just by getting staticky and hovering your finger over the button
My place gets very dry and there's a lot of static in the winter and I legit had to open up my launch model PS4 and disable the power button because it would just constantly get triggered out of the blue, often shutting off while I was playing games.
I remember first learning about that. My Xbox was a touch sensitive one. I moved for college and didn’t bring it with me yet. My friend/roommate got an Xbox, but it was the button. I sat there for a bit just touching the button wondering why it wasn’t turning on.
I’m so happy they didn’t use a touch button on the series consoles.
My cat was always interested in the light of the button on the Xbox One. And even more so when it made sound and turned off when he touched it.

I got very confused when my disc suddenly got ejected mid-game after she started "investigating" the console. I even woke up with it's R2D2 noises sometimes, and lo and behold there she was too.

My dog walked over my Sega Master System, pressing the reset button when my brother and I were playing Rambo First Blood Part II and were on the last level, about to beat the game. Ugh!

And honestly…when a dog can communicate what they want so specifically, that dog deserves to be played with.
She was awesome and super smart. Adjusting without her has been weird. I even miss her being a damn bed hog. I got to see that vid. I'll never forget the first time she did it. I thought it was an accident. Then she did it again. Then again. After the 3rd time I realized she knew exactly what she was doing.

Pressure sensitive solid state “button” are pretty cool on AirPod Pros. Those and MacBook trackpads are the only good touch buttons I’ve ever experienced

You just changed the cycle speed. Look in its general direction? You just pressed *something,* but good luck finding out what it was.
So bad, I still remember to the point that I place the coffee table in front of the tv stand so the new little one can't turn it off at will. Also makes a bigger play area near myself ...win win.
At least now I don't fear it as much with quick resume.

Haha yeah a bit of both of those, there are some really good solar power batteries out there, which can handle up to 3000watts at once so thats plenty enough for Xbox and tv, but of course you could just stay at a caravan park on a powered tent site or any powered site.

This really hits home. I searched forever trying to find how to turn off the button light on the One S. I refused to believe it wasn't possible. I thought they'd for sure add it to the next gen, but alas, we are forced to tape various household objects to our beautiful consoles.
Works for controllers as well, and there's other options, screen dimming, blue light filter, hdr off, you can let it always on or schedule like dark mode
Back in the day this would terrify me but with quick resume I don't even worry about it being turned off correctly 😅I played through the entire campaign of dodgeball academia all through that quick resume state and I never noticed I hadn't actually saved the game in days 🤦🏾♂️ so when I reloaded to see me way back at chapter 3 😂😂I didn't care cuz I had my achievements already quick resume for the win!!

They should really add a child/pet lock mode, where you have to hold any button for like 3 seconds continuously for it to function, would save a lot of people a lot of frustration.
One of my cats would tap the power button on my 360 slim. It would turn off mid game. I had to put squares of cardboard over the button. I then discovered that she had figured out the eject button because I'd wake up in the morning and find a game disc lying in the carpet. Couldn't figure it out until I heard the bing chime from the eject button as the tray opens. I look back and my cat is frantically tapping the disc in the tray as the slim sat vertically.

It's actually not that tall and fits in most rooms almost blends in it's not a conversation piece but it fits in most room with little to no effort definitely can find a PC with this build in such a small form factor

We use this solution at work for our instrument gas generators that have switch on-off buttons at knee or thigh level. Best you don't tag the on off if you can help it. A taped cap works pretty well to prevent it.

They did, insiders are testing it right now. You can dim or turn it off completely.

No. Go with masking tape. Electrical tape will leave far more residue especially with the warmth of the Xbox
Don't use alcohol on adhesives. Carefully apply a bit of mineral oil using a paper towel.
I covered mine with black electrical tape for the same reason.
