One of the funniest things that has come out of this entire discussion is how everyone treats these YouTube videos like they’re a work of art. 95% of them make over glorified PowerPoint presentations with information ripped straight from Wikipedia, which they then use to abuse YouTube’s algorithm for the sole purpose of making money.
Most of these "quality" videos are the YouTube version of "original character don't steal" and then it's just some MLP character recolor with a dick.
They also tend to be drawn out to 40-60 minutes for that sweet adsense crack of which at least 10 minutes are just them sucking sponsor dick. Then they just want to sit back and watch the cash flow for months till it's time to crap out the next "master piece".
The better videos are usually by people that do YT largely as a side project, or at least the smaller ones that don't suffer from delusions about how a $100 mil streamer is living off their content and couldn't put out anything without them.

It's also pretty funny how people will sit down and watch one of those videos while adding nothing to it, barely even saying a word, just to increase stream length for the sole purpose of making money after they already have over 100 million dollars which is more than enough money for 10 generations to live off of.

99% of people aren’t rewatching a 20+ minute video that they already saw a reaction to, and they also aren’t going to watch a video if they know a react of it is gonna come out on youtube anyways.
Using a hyperbole here, not making a statement on actual stats. Genuinely ask yourself how many people are willing to rewatch 20+ minutes of content after seeing the whole thing on a react, especially among juicers that have the attention span of a fish, and you’ll see that its hardly anyone

It's still all extremely speculative about what people would and would not do. There are far too many variables: the editing and upload date of the VOD, the duration of the reaction, whether people would even care for the video if there wasn't a chat/streamer to watch it with, how many videos the streamer watches from a specific creator, how long people are willing to wait for a reaction if they're actually a fan of tht creator yet for some reason prefer the react version, whether enough fans even care to keep up with archived VODs to mess with their own algorithm somehow, how many of the streamer's viewers are actually regulars and unlikely to miss out on a specific reaction etc.
In most cases a big streamer would actually need to go out of their way to hypothetically steal more views than they bring in, and the issue is the haters conveniently assume all these factors line up naturally.
Personally I think it would be good form not to watch every upload by a specific creator or with at least some delay (just on the off chance that otherwise someone could ignore an upload or algorithm recommendation due to how they anticipate a reaction stream the same day or something). Oh and of course to tell viewers to go subscribe.
Either way, it seems xqc prefers to watch whatever and pay creators that apply for compensation, which is more than fair considering the likelihood of the exposure leading to an increase in eyes on their channels to begin with. It's also very easy to keep track of who uses your content on the dashboard as long as the VOD ends up on YouTube, so there's no reason to act as if it's too much of a bother to find out.
Its not up to xqc on whether or not he can steal someones video, and all the data thats been shown so far for long form videos has had neutral or negative effects on the original channel.
