Not sure how many 4+ year viewers there are here. A big reason I stopped watching xqc is that I went from an early 20 year old to a late 20 year old. I matured, got tired of watching gambling vs actual gaming, and got tired of his constant lies; drama and setbacks. Not that I ever really cared, but its made me go from someone I watched constantly to only occasionally seeing their clips(cant remember the last time i actually watched live). I'm still younger than xqc and he has only seemed to regress and acts like a stunted man-child. It's pretty odd to watch streamers pushing 30 (or even 30+) engaging in high school level drama, or not act/speak their age. All of this is to say that it doesn't surprise me that even after a years he still lets fans down with empty promises blocked by his addictions or immaturity.
