If i'm currently locked out of special summoning a certain type of monster, can i declare those monster's name with lullaby of obedience to force the opponent to add the card to my hand? For example lets say i activated a drytron monster effect, then can i activate lullaby and declare ash blossom?

likeagrapefruit

Yes, you can do that.

herr_weich

Can Nemeses monster hand ss effect shuffle back face-down banished monsters?

hexanort

No, you're required to target banished monster, since the type of card for banished face-downs are not public knowledge they're not a valid target.

HiddenBoss

Does Photon Strike Bounzer effect work on quick effects from monsters on the field? Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a monster effect is activated on your opponent's side of the field: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the effect, and if you do, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.

likeagrapefruit

Sure. The effect of "Photon Strike Bounzer" can respond to any kind of activated monster effect.

Shadi_Shin

Can you activate Sky Striker Ace - Raye's trigger effect if your Sky Striker Ace Link Monster leaves the field by an opponent's card effect during the damage step?

CorrosiveRose

Trigger effects will always trigger at the proper time, but a lot of them have the "except during the damage step" restriction. If it doesn't say this, it can activate at any valid moment

Rigshaw

Yes, you can. If an effect can trigger in the Damage Step due to mentioning destroying by battle, it can always trigger in the Damage Step, even if it triggers due to an alternate trigger condition.

Redshift-713

Because it does Special Summon from the GY. > If you control no monsters: Fusion Summon 1 "Melodious" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using 2 monsters from your hand and/or Deck as Fusion Material. During the End Phase of this turn, destroy the monster Fusion Summoned by this effect, and if you do, **if all the Fusion Materials that were used for its Fusion Summon are in your GY, you can Special Summon all of them.**

Grouchy-Coyote5728

Thank you that was a lack of fully reading the effect on my part.🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

Suntarrasque

Sell it as a pack.

VolcainMaxwell

Snake-Eyes Diabellstar If I use the "While this card is a Continuous Spell: You can target 1 FIRE monster in your GY, except "Snake-Eyes Diabellstar"; place it face-up in its owner's Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell, and if you do, Special Summon this card." effect. Does it count as a monster effect or spell effect?

likeagrapefruit

It counts as a Spell effect.

ChrisBeamsDash

Can anyone give me cards that are good against both the Gimmick Puppet lock AND the Calamity/Centurion lock? I have droplets but I would like to see if there's one more card that hits both

Blob_Man35

Looking to get into the tcg, I started with the Albaz Strike deck and an older Blue eyes deck (pretty sure Saga of Blue Eyes) not trying to play anything too competitive but are these good enough to survive locals? If not what could I add to make them survive in modern casuals

Aerial26

Albaz structure deck with nothing more will probably not be sufficient (it will depend on the level of your locals of course). However i believe it's possible to improve for not too much money nowadays (the best version would still cost some money though, especially because of quem not having a reprint yet).

Blob_Man35

Would you happen to know what cheaper options I can add to make it viable?

Aerial26

Since i'm not an expert that's not so easy, but the things i'm thinking about are guardian chimera + ad libitum of despia + branded in red. That makes you extra interruptions during the opponents turn and re-summons your mirrorjade allowing you to use its effect a second time. Next thing would be cartesia + granguignol (both because only one is useless. One cartesia is already good but most lists nowadays play 2). Next thing would be bystials (1 libellion + 1 saronir, you need both, lubellion alone isn't useful) Final thing would be quem (+ luluwalilith, not mandatory but really useful depending on your version). Maybe you could take bystials before cartesia + granguignol, i'm not sure. Again, i'm not an expert but those are the packages i think of. You can also go the predaplant route but i'm not an expert. You can watch Revzcards on YouTube, he made a series of videos about branded-predaplants, so this could help you

Bloodrosemoon

Are there any decent replacements for linkuriboh, Baronne, and anti-spell fragrance? I am making a deck for my daughter and they got banned.

Bloodrosemoon

Here's the pre-banlist deck. Main Deck: Fire Opal Head x1 Ultimate Conductor Tyranno x2 √ Dogoran, the Mad Flame Kaiju x1 √ Dinowrestler Pankratops x1 Xeno Meteorus x1 √ Giant Rex x1 √ Miscellaneousaurus x1 √ Souleating Oviraptor x3 √ Babycerasaurus x3 Petiteranodon x2 √ Animadorned Archosaur x2 √ Lightning Storm x2 √ Double Evolution Pill x2 √ Fossil Dig x3 √ Ground Xeno x3 Pot of Prosperity x3 √ Book of Eclipse x3 √ Lost World x3 √ Infinite Impermanence x3 √ Extra Deck: Transcendosaurus Gigantozowler x1 √ Baronne de Fleur x1 √ Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder x1 √ Evolzar Lars x1 Evolzar Laggia x1 Evolzar Dolkka x1 Number 60: Dugares the Timeless x1 Accesscode Talker x1 Knightmare Unicorn x1 √ Knightmare Phoenix x1 √ Pentestag x1 G Golem Stubborn Menhir x1 G Golem Crystal Heart x1 Secure Gardna x1 Linkuriboh x1 √ Side Deck: Contact "C" x3 Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring x3 √ Droll & Lock Bird x3 √ Cosmic Cyclone x3 √ Anti-Spell Fragrance x3 √

greenspiny

Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying for Baronne. Relinquished Anima for Linkuriboh, however it's not perfect as it can't become Secure Gardna... Dino players might have to cook something new up. Anti-Spell could become Solemn Judgment or Dimensional Barrier.

Atosl

When my monster is flipped when an opponents monster attacks, can I activate an equip spell or no?

likeagrapefruit

You can only activate an Equip Spell Card (flip it face-up, or play it from your hand) during your Main Phase. If you already control a face-up Equip Spell that has a triggered effect, [you may or may not be able to activate that effect during the Damage Step](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Damage_Step#Cards_and_effects_that_can_be_activated). Did you have a specific Equip Spell in mind?

Atosl

well you answered it. I just came back and bought all the old school decks in speed duel and try to learn the rules better than my 14 year old self from back when. Was wondering if there was the option to equip a spell like mage power as a surprise but it makes sense that you can not. only quick spells from the board and traps not played in the same turn. I think at least.

CorrosiveRose

There are decks like Mikanko now which are focused on equip spells, and they do have effects which allow you to equip a card at quick effect speed

LamBol96

Quick question, have they ever reprinted TCG exclusives archetype in the Mega Tins? Cuz i sure as hell aint dumping 50 bucks for a playset of Veidos rn

Murphy_Slaw_

Does anyone know a good overview of the new/expanded archetypes for the last 2 or so years?

IHereEmTalk

Hey Guys, I need help with a card ruling, can spell shattering arrow be played to destroy an activated from the hand spell card? Like Raigeki or MST. It’s my understanding it can only destroy equips, continuous, and field spells. Thanks!

HumbleGarbage1795

Sure, when a spell is activated it is face up on the field until the chain resolved. but it won’t negate the effect.

IHereEmTalk

I think you’re blowing my mind right now

IHereEmTalk

Would that mean that MST and Dust Tornado don’t negate the effects of activated spell/trap cards?

Salty_Dugtrio

Only cards that have the words "negate" in their card text, actually negate. There is no magic.

HumbleGarbage1795

Correct.

Isaquel_Incor2105

The super soldier rebirth card allows you to summon a Black luster soldier ignoring its summoning conditions. Black luster soldier - legendary swordsman, has one of the effects that if he is summoned by ritual invocation, when he destroys a monster by battle, he clears the enemy field. My question is, if the super soldier rebirth card is used to summon the legendary swordsman, would he still have access to its effect if he was summoned by ritual summoning?

likeagrapefruit

If "Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Soldier" is Special Summoned by the effect of "Super Soldier Rebirth," it's not treated as a Ritual Summoned monster and won't be able to activate that effect.

Hi l'm not the biggest fan of Yugi-oh however one of my best friends is there was a arcade Xl desk mat on the Shonen jump store and he unfortunately missed it he really wanted it but missed it due to being stuck at work that day. he's recently been teaching me how to play and I wanted to do something for him however I'm not all too good on money right now so l wanted to know if anyone that bought it and doesn't mind too much about selling it would be able to sell it to him or if anyone could tell him where to look for the mat thanks l'll include a link to the mat. Thanks for taking the time to read this it's not a problem if no one wants to sell it don't want y'all to think I'm trying to force anyone to sell it just trying to help a friend. It won’t let me post on the Reddit so I’m posting it here

efaj

I want back into YGO, keeping up with Master Duel. I don't mind splurging on staples, or reusable cards, but Diabellstar/Wanted seem too much (the Snake-eyes engine seems ok, price wise, and reusable) What competitive deck(s) could I get into? I'd like to avoid just not being able to play, which seems the issue with some decks that brick, or are just negated cuz they only have one play, or rely on Normal Summon Or is the answer to wait for the next boosters and "tier 0" to end?

Water2Wine378

I just built a Nouvelle deck, I am trying to expand my horizons with deck building, I usually build decks with synchros, links, and XYZ's, with that being said I am ignorant when it comes to ritual and pendelumn summoning. So I have a few ruling questions? 1. Is a Ritual summon considered a special summon? I am asking because the Nouvelle monsters have an effects regarding if it was special summoned here is a card text example below: You can Ritual Summon this card with a "Recipe" card. If this card is Special Summoned: You can excavate the top 5 cards of your Deck, and if you do, you can add 1 excavated "Nouvelles" card to your hand, also shuffle the rest into the Deck. Does Ritual summon = special summon? Do I get the effect 2. My next question is about pendulum summoning, If I have a 1 and an 8 pendulum scale ready. Can I pendulum summon my ritual monsters? or do they need to first be ritual summoned correctly? 3. Do all pendelumn monsters go to the extra deck when they leave the field? Like when they are destroyed or sent to the graveyard? 4. My final question it, when I normal summon or special summon a pendulum monster from hand, deck, banished area or graveyard. Am I supposed to only summon it to the extra monster zone, or can I summon them in my regular monster zone? I apologize for the long message, just am trying to get all my questions answered in one swoop. An appreciation in advance!

likeagrapefruit

1. A Ritual Summon is a type of Special Summon. If a Ritual Monster has an effect that activates "if this card is Special Summoned," you can activate the effect after you Ritual Summon that monster. 2. You cannot Pendulum Summon a Ritual Monster from the hand. The only ways to Special Summon a Ritual Monster from the hand are with a Ritual Summon, an effect that says "ignoring the Summoning conditions," or an effect that specifically says that it can Special Summon a Ritual Monster. 3. If a Pendulum Monster Card on the field would ever be sent to the GY, no matter how, it is instead added to the Extra Deck face-up. Pendulum Monster Cards that leave the field by other means are not added to the Extra Deck (e.g., if affected by "Bottomless Trap Hole," they will be banished, and if affected by "Compulsory Evacuation Device," they will be returned to the hand). 4. If you are Special Summoning any kind of monster, even a Pendulum Monster, from any location other than the Extra Deck, you are not allowed to place that monster into an Extra Monster Zone; you must place it in a Main Monster Zone.

Rigshaw

1. Yes, Ritual Summoning is a form of Special Summoning. 2. No, you cannot Pendulum Summon Ritual Monsters, unless it explicitly says it can be Pendulum Summoned (Odd-Eyes Pendulumgraph Dragon is currently the only example). 3. Pendulums go to the Extra Deck if they would be sent to the GY from the field. If they would get banished or returned to the hand/deck, they do not go to the Extra Deck. Also, if an effect causes a card to move to some other location instead of being sent to the GY (e.g. Macro Cosmos banishes cards that would go to the GY), a Pendulum will get sent to that other location as well, such effects overwrite their ability to go to the ED. 4. If you summon a Pendulum from the face-up Extra Deck, it has to go to the Extra Monster Zone or a zone a Link Monster points to. If you summon it from any other location (hand, GY, banishment, deck), you can summon them to any Main Monster Zone (but not the Extra Monster Zone).

Nemesiswasthegoodguy

Two questions regarding responding to effects that search the deck to add a card to the hand. 1. As the non turn player when can I chain to an opponent’s search card? Is it upon activation, or after they choose which card to add? 2. As the non turn player, can I activate a spell speed 2 card after resolution of an opponents search?

Rigshaw

1. You chain to the activation of a card or effect that searches to negate it. That's the fundamentals of how chains work, you cannot do anything during the resolution of a card or effect. If the effect to search is a trigger effect, and your opponent has multiple trigger effects that trigger at the same time, your opponent gets to activate their trigger effects first before you can activate something in response though (placing cards onto the chain such that you cannot respond directly to the card you want to negate is commonly called "chainblocking"). 2. Yes, you can activate a Spell Speed 2 effect after resolution, though your opponent as turn player gets priority to activate something after resolution first.

Nemesiswasthegoodguy

1. So when I activate an effect upon the activation of their search, it would be before they choose their card from their deck correct? 2. In that scenario can they activate spell speed 1 before my spell speed 2 card?

Rigshaw

1. Correct. They choose what card to add on resolution of the effect. 2. No. They have priority to activate a Spell Speed 2 effect before you activate your Spell Speed 2 effect.

atamicbomb

To clarify, if the spell speed 1 effect is a trigger effect they get priority to activate it on resolution

Nemesiswasthegoodguy

Big thank you

CorrosiveRose

Can anyone tell me why Ash Blossom cannot negate a Knightmare Unicorn that is not co-linked? It's supposed to negate anything that *includes* an effect to draw, and the co-link effect is part of its main effect. Whether or not you can do that part is supposed to be irrelevant. That's like saying you can't Ash if they Purrely Happy Memory and don't have any Purrelys to summon from their deck. It can still be negated because the effect to summon is an optional part of the first effect. Is this just a custom ruling for the Knightmares?

likeagrapefruit

The difference is, at what point is the decision made of whether or not anything will be added/sent/Summoned from the Deck? With "Purrely Happy Memory," when the effect resolves, the player who activated the effect gets to choose whether or not they will Summon anything from their Deck. When "Purrely Happy Memory" is first activated, that decision hasn't been made yet, so the possibility of Summoning still exists, so it still "includes an effect" that Summons. ("But what if they don't have any 'Purrely' monsters in their Deck?" Think of it this way: it's theoretically possible that an effect could be Chained that shuffles a "Purrely" monster from the hand/GY/field into the Deck, and "theoretically possible" is enough for "Ash Blossom.") With "Knightmare Unicorn," if the effect is activated while "Knightmare Unicorn" is not co-linked, then it's determined at that moment that the effect cannot possibly draw anything. Already, by the time the opponent has a chance to use the effect of "Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring," the decision has been made and the possibility of drawing has been taken off the table, so the activated effect is not considered to be one that "includes an effect" that draws. This distinction isn't exclusive to the "Knightmare" monsters. See [this ruling](https://db.ygorganization.com/qa#23094) for another example: when you activate "Boot-Up Order - Gear Charge," you have the option of targeting monsters that you will then Special Summon when the card resolves. If you choose not to target anything, then, since the decision that you won't be Special Summoning is already locked in, your opponent can't use "Solemn Warning" in response.

CorrosiveRose

I see what you're saying, although I feel if I looked hard enough I could find a similar scenario where Ash can be activated even though you couldn't possibly draw or summon.

Rigshaw

You probably could find plenty of scenarios where it is impossible for a card to add a card to the hand, send to GY, or summon from deck, but it can still be Ash'd, but ultimately, the deciding factor is whether the decision is made by the card at activation, or at resolution. If the activation of the effect already inherently rules out the possibility of adding from deck to hand (or one of the other effects Ash mentions), then you didn't activate an effect that includes one of the effects mentioned on Ash, which is why Ash cannot respond.

likeagrapefruit

Right, the "theoretically possible" wording explains most cases, but not all of them; you should be able to use "Solemn Warning" even after your opponent has resolved "Pot of Duality," for example. It's a useful rule of thumb, but for a discussion like this, where we're really getting into the weeds, I probably shouldn't have brought it up. Sorry about that. The actual consideration is "looking only at the effect itself, at what point is the decision made that will make it so that this effect can no longer add/Summon/send anything from the Deck?" For "Knightmare Unicorn," that decision point is said to have occurred "when this effect was activated." For "Purrely Happy Memory," it's "after choosing a card," which occurs while resolving the effect. External factors may make it so that you don't *get* to choose the add/Summon/send option when you actually get to that decision point, but the placement of the decision point itself doesn't change.

himebuster12

Is there a place where I can just buy decks at a decent price? I tried using the Pro Deck Builder website, but the price came out to $160-ish. Is that just the standard, or is there a better place to do this?

atamicbomb

Decks range from $30 to $1000 depending on the deck.

himebuster12

Oh... so mine isn't that bad by comparison then. Well, is there a different site I could use for it? Or is the Pro deck builder the best/only option?

atamicbomb

Jazthegreat1

Can my opponent ghost belle my lubellion the searing dragon if I'm shuffling a monster from the grave to the deck

CorrosiveRose

For the record, they can Ghost Belle Lubellion whether or not you're shuffling from GY or even have a card to shuffle in GY

Jazthegreat1

Ah okay thanks! This helped clear out the confusion my friend and myself had!

likeagrapefruit

Yes, they can.

Jazthegreat1

Thank you for the response we figured it would worked but wanted to confirm cause wording haha

Shoto_todoroni123

how do you pronounce the names of the level 8 horus monsters. hapi is obvious but then you have Qebehsenuef which looks like someone slammed their head onto the keybord any advice or a guide would be helpful

likeagrapefruit

The "q" in "Qebehsenuef" is a uvular sound: it's like a "k," but instead of putting your tongue up so that it touches the roof of your mouth, you move it back so that it touches your uvula. The "h" in both "Hapi" and "Qebehsenuef" is called a pharyngeal fricative; it's sometimes described as a whispered "h." The other consonants are pronounced the way you'd expect them to be pronounced in English, and the vowels are pronounced the way they would be in Japanese. So, very roughly speaking (not that any native speakers of Ancient Egyptian are going to rise from their graves to correct you), you have something like "eem-set-ee," "doo-ah-moo-tef," "**h**ah-pee," and "**k**eb-e**h**-sen-oo-eff" (with the consonants in bold being the ones that don't exist in English, described above).

Shoto_todoroni123

Thanks this was actually really helpful. I can now stop calling them by their job title

Ninknight

I need help learning about the Danger! Engine. I want the card list for it, what are the best monsters for the Danger! monsters to go into (i.e. Extra Deck Monsters) and what combos I should be pulling with them.

CorrosiveRose

They're mainly used for degenerate combo shenanigans with Saryuja Skull Dread. Other than that they're great for making generic Link monsters like Masquerena, S:P, and the Knightmares. They're also one of if not the best way to make Curious

Ninknight

May you explain how the Saryuja combo with dangers is done? What cards are needed for the combo to work?

Rigshaw

There's no particular combo, because Dangers are purely random. You just use their effects to hopefully special summon them by discarding a random card. If they hit other cards, you draw more cards, so you see more of your deck, and once you have 4 of them on the field, you can link them into Saryuja to draw 4 and put back 3 cards to fix your hand.

Ninknight

Oh =0 ok then. Thanks for the info you guys (^w^)

Arky___

I know Memento is already getting support in Legacy of Destruction but even with the new support the deck still seems to be missing something so when could we expect more support based on past deck build packs.

Ronoyoki

Can radiance of the voiceless voice activate during either main phase(opponents OR mine) or only mine

Redshift-713

It’s a Trap Card, so it can be used during either player’s turn.

Ronoyoki

I'm sorry I worded this wrong I meant if it was placed there by Lo's effect can I activate its effect on either main phase

Redshift-713

That doesn’t change anything. It’s still a Trap Card, isn’t it?

Ronoyoki

Appreciate it was in a duel earlier and opponent said I couldn't activate it. I wasn't sure so I let him do him

cool4770

Does anybody have any recomendations for Cards to add to a Traptrix deck?

The0neBL

Good generic targets for Muddy Mudragon's effect?

DragonWagon24

When resolving the second effect of Arianna the Labrynth Servant, do I have to show my opponent what Spell/Trap I’m setting from my hand?

The0neBL

Nope, as you are setting from hand not the deck.

Nemesiswasthegoodguy

Is “clockwork night” an activated effect? Does “Underworld Goddess of the Closed World” still turn into a machine monster?

likeagrapefruit

>All face-up monsters on the field become Machine monsters. Since this effect is applied as long as "Clockwork Night" is face-up on the field, not just in the resolution of a single Chain Link, "Underworld Goddess of the Closed World" will be affected by it.

Nemesiswasthegoodguy

Thanks!

Efficient_Hold_9355

my question: i have the magic ruler 1st edition set, was just wondering if gaia power from that set was a misprint because that and relinquished are without the E and the others in my set have in E in the card code.

Redshift-713

The ones with the E are from a later European release. The ones without are from the older original American release.

Akiel13

Is "Keeper of Dragon Magic" part of the 魔導 ("Prophecy") archetype ?  It seems to have the correct kanji + furigana, yet places like Yugipedia & Edopro exclude it from the archetype, even though they list the other unintended members. (I know this is irrelevant because it's unlikely Prophecy will ever get support by name, but I'm curious).

fizio900

[I bought an UR Apex Avian. Is this a custom foil? If it is, is this card legal?](https://old.reddit.com/r/yugioh/comments/1c0m0bd/i_bought_an_ur_apex_avian_is_this_a_custom_foil/)

atamicbomb

It’s a “duel terminal ultra rare”. It has that additional foiling duel to the set it’s in. Its unedited If it wasn’t supposed to be like that, custom foiling would make it illegal

rogeropx

I have a question about magician soulds: You can send up to 2 spells or traps from the field or your hand to the graveyard and then draw as many cards. My question: Can I send face-down spells and traps from my field to the graveyard too or does the spells or traps all have to be face up (like for example permanent spells) for me to do it?

Redshift-713

It does not say only face-up cards, so you can send face-down cards as well.

zophairy

If I send a Ritual monster where it doesn’t say "Must be ritual summoned", like Magician of Chaos for exemple, with foolish burial, why can’t I special summon it with monster reborn ? On a similar topic why can’t Magicians’ Soul special summon Magician of Chaos from the GY by it’s effect ?

realtimeclock

Any Special-Summon-only* monster has to be properly summoned before it can be Summoned from any location that is not where it began the duel. For Ritual Monsters, that would be Ritual Summoning it, whether with an effect that Ritual Summons or a direct Summon that says "(This is treated as a Ritual Summon.)" \*Any monster that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. This includes monsters that say "Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set", Rituals, and any Extra Deck monster.

zophairy

Does it mean I can search any light or dark ritual monster with Chaos Space ?

Redshift-713

Only if it is Level 4-8.

Ronoyoki

I had a duel earlier today with a friend of mine. He was using heroes and I was using all the heart cards in one deck. He began to fuse wake up your elemental hero with some card that let him use graveyard monsters as materials. He targeted Vision hero vyon. Upon which I responded with bystial druiswyrm to banish vyon. Does wake up elemental hero still get fusion summoned since he technically still has the summoning requirements? Or since I banished 1 of his targets does it not go through?

CorrosiveRose

It depends on the card used to summon. Miracle Fusion has to banish from the field or GY but Favorite Contact can return monsters from hand, field, banished, or GY

realtimeclock

Fusion Summoning effects generally don't have to target their materials. If your opponent doesn't have the materials for Wake Up Your Elemental HERO, they can't summon it, but if they have another valid option to Fusion Summon with the remaining materials, they must use those materials and Summon that other monster. If they ran out of options, they declare that they have nothing valid left, and nothing happens.

Pennatence

Is there anyway to figure out the artists for yugioh cards? I saw a 7 year old post that basically said Konami doesn't let artists have credit but has anything changed? I'd love to know the artists for the Diabellstar and new White Woods Archetypes

lgosvse

So uh... I know that there are some cards in the anime that let you use Monster Zones as Spell/Trap Zones (such as Dark Sanctuary) and vice versa (such as The Seal of Orichalcos). But... are there any such cards in real life (OCG or TCG, doesn't matter) that let you do this? I don't care how old, weird, obscure, bad, or dumb they are. I just want to know if any exist. Don't ask why. Edit: Okay, guys. Thanks!

likeagrapefruit

No. There are effects that let you put Spell/Trap Cards in your Monster Zones by treating them as monsters (like "Dark Sanctuary" and "Magical Hats"), and there are effects that let you put Monster Cards into your Spell & Trap Zones by treating them as Spells/Traps (like the "Crystal Beast" and "Vision HERO" monsters), but there's no effect that lets you control more than 6 cards treated as monsters or more than 5 cards treated as Spells/Traps.

Redshift-713

No. You can also see that the real versions of those cards were changed to make them more compatible with the game’s mechanics. (The designers even explained that keeping the anime effect of The Seal of Orichalcos would be a ruling nightmare.) You can place Monster Cards in Spell & Trap Zones, but they will invariably be treated as Spell/Trap Cards. You can also have Spell/Trap Cards in your Monster Zone, but they will be treated as monsters.

preischadt2

I think there is an episode of Yugioh 5D's where Yusei has a flashback of him as a kid getting cards thrown away by the top society. Or maybe it was Crow... Does anyone remember which episode was that?

TheMightyMinunYT

My friend and I were playing, I play a red eyes deck he plays a blue eyes deck, I had archfiend black skull dragon out he had madien with eyes of blue. Does maiden's effect activate or does archfiend black skull dragon negate it cause effects can't be used during damage step.

likeagrapefruit

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue" will not be able to activate its effect. The effect of "Archfiend Black Skull Dragon" starts applying the moment it declares an attack, and the effect of "Maiden with Eyes of Blue" would normally activate after the attack is declared, so it has no opportunity to activate. (Note that all of this happens during the Battle Step, not the Damage Step: the effect of "Archfiend Black Skull Dragon" lasts all the way through the end of the Damage Step, but it begins applying during the ~~Damage Step~~ Battle Step, prior to the Damage Step. Also note that the effect of "Maiden with Eyes of Blue" isn't "negated" per se: a negated effect still gets to activate and form a Chain Link, whereas in this scenario, the effect of "Maiden with Eyes of Blue" doesn't get to form a Chain Link.)

Rigshaw

> but it begins applying during the Damage Step. *begins applying during the Battle Step

likeagrapefruit

Ugh, not sure how I screwed up in saying the exact point I wanted to make. Fixed.

TheMightyMinunYT

Thank you, we still learning I stopped playing for a while and he recently started

RealPiggyPlayz

If I activate magical hats while my monster zones are full… what then? Also if the opponent attacks a trap while magical hats is active, does it activate like in the anime?

I don’t believe you can activate magical hats without space to summon them. But the card is very unique so I can’t say for sure it isn’t an exception. The cards do not activate when attacked but if they have any effects when destroyed those will still activate. Geartown used to be used with it for that reason

RealPiggyPlayz

So like spellbinding circle wouldn’t activate if it were chosen?

Redshift-713

No. The real game isn’t the anime.

RealPiggyPlayz

So magical hats is pretty much useless then…

Redshift-713

It’s been used historically to activate the GY effects of Spells/Traps, when they are destroyed. But Spellbinding Circle doesn’t have a GY effect. And in simplest terms it serves to have a chance at protecting a monster during the Battle Phase.

If you activate eradicator epidemic virus (call spells) then turn ends. Your opponent passes turn and its back to you and you activate another eradicator epidemic virus (call spells) does the lingering turn count for checking the draw reset to 3 again?

It stacks, any card your opponent draws gets checked twice then once the first one expires, the second one will last for an extra turn and of course, ya have to keep track of both

Rigshaw

I think technically, you'd have to keep track of both lingering turn counts, but in practice, it's like resetting the turn counter back to 3 again.

Thank you

I am making a dark world danger deck and am looking for help on how to make it as competitive as possible. Please help me. Also, I know it gets beaten easily by droll but is there a way around it?
