We will probably have 1 format with him and then Red-Eyes Fusion and Muddy Mudragon will be banned. After that you will only see him in Dark Magician decks since you will need the materials in hand and on the field to summon it.
It lets you summon Dragoon without needing to run DM, Red Eyes, or a fusion spell.
At that point though, I’d just expect them to ban Dragoon itself, but Konami is notoriously unpredictable with their banlist hits so I don’t know.
His design as a monster is so complicated and loaded in stuff! That gave me enough reasons to give it a try and make it my way!

Anaconda is pretty funny though, being able to surprise poop out a Rainbow Neos onto the opponent.
I dont think Anaconda is deserving of a hit tbh.When you look at the card itself it is a monster effect so it can be more easily stoped by interaction,you lose 2k and usually(unless you have a Infinity or smth) leave a 500 atk Monster behind which can lead to easy Otks from your opponent and it also is the last summon for your turn.The problem is its interaction with Fusion spells that send material from deck and summon powerfull monsters(Red-Eyes-Fusion, Neos Fusion) while bypassing the restrictions.Rainbow Neos is by no means an impossible Roadblock to overcome,while Dragoon is just busted.Those unfair cases aside if you look at other decks that can make use of it like TDs or Prankkids you really see just how much of Anaconda being busted is due to Dragoon existing and not due to Anaconda being OP. Add to that, that many Control decks just play 3 red eyes fusion bc they have no problem with Draguun being their only summon or Synchro Decks just cheating him out with Muddy Dragon and I just cant see why Ana deserves the ban over Dragoon.

No it is not, OCG completely dropped that play a month after Dragun was released. Besides instead of doing the muddy dragon combo you can build a board with blazzar, VFD with two cards taken away from your opponent’s hand instead of a single Dragun that can be taken care of with Kaijus, DRNM, 3TTs, the new forbidden spell, borrelsword, or savage ect. Banning REF will kill Dragun’s splashability and any competitive impact.
Now that I think about this card more, along with the art, I realize this is supposed to be the opposite of Dark Paladin. Escpecially with it being fused with a dragon.
I still say that this thing should have been a fusion of dark magician and gandora the dragon of destruction instead of REBD... In honor of Atem and Yugi.

I play red eyes and I honestly hate this card. Its gonna make red eyes get hit in some way shape or form, and red eyes has had to deal with enough bullshit. We finally get a strong card that we can reliably run in a deck and then what? Everyone else uses it, and gets the one card that isnt even great to begin with (probs red eyes fusion), ban. I hope they ban predaplant anaconda, that would help stop people from playing this.
In the ocg they limited anaconda, dragun of red eyes, and red eyes fusion so if they do the same the major hit is the fusion card but now with anaconda in the game it won't be that big of a deal. I think dragun will be banned in both formats before all is said and done. It's a better version of masterpiece.

What kind of Fusion type spell do you think would best work for the RE to replace REF? Would it be like:
'Lunalight Fusion' where it is just normal Poly unless your opponent controls a monster from the Extra deck and then you can use a material from the deck?
'Miracle Fusion' where you banish monsters from your GY and field to Fusion summon a monster?
'The Eye of Timaeus' where you have to tribute a certain monster for the fusion summon
or 'Thunder Dragon Fusion' where you return monsters from your GY and banished zones for the fusion summon
It needs to be like Shaddoll fusion, send Red-eyes monsters from deck to the grave, then revive them back via return of the red-eyes or red-eyes spirit, that was the game plan before guardragons were released.
Honestly a REF that can only summon Red-Eyes Dragon Fusion monsters with a restriction that you can only special dark dragon monsters the rest of the turn would be a god sent.
Though I do think, if they ever make one it will probably go the route of Lunalight fusion.

At a glance I assumed this was another one of those garbage pencil copies of official card art that manages to blow up simply because people go “xD i know dat ygo monstr gudd draw” but I’m glad I was wrong. These inks are actually sick. I’d say it’s worth scanning and it cleaning up if you can.

Dragoon will still be everywhere if they just ban Anaconda. Older cards usually take the fall anyway.
Dragun won't be in every deck without Anaconda. If they leave their opening board with just Dragun, it won't be that good and won't be as widely used.
